***UPDATED VERSION NOW AVAILABLE*** In the 7th archive, Bass is the name of the Game. In the 3rd archive, my fallen brother DJ Chronic provided us with an angle he never tried before, progressive breaks. He was so proud of that mix and the emotional attachment can be clearly heard throughout the mix. He told me on many occasions it was his favorite he ever did and thanked me for pushing him outside his comfort zone. Anyone that knows Scott knows he like his comfort zone. Retrospect 007 is dedicated to the many hours conversing with Scott about 1 subject; BASS!!! So my brother this one is for you. I hope they like it, brother. I followed where the bass lead me. I am Efocus and this is Retrospect 007 Dirty Bass.
I hope this mix helps center you amidst all this chaos surrounding us. It's a life-changing event that will not be forgotten any time soon. This was a very special mix for many reasons, some you will discover for yourself, but for me just being blessed to vibe with Bea aka Navitas. What an absolute gem to work with. We chose to keep our mixes secret from each other until it was time to put it all together. What a surprise that turned out to be, it showed both of us that shedding another passing year and welcoming a new one can be an almost telepathic conversation among friends when expressed through music. With this being her first EVER official release I couldn't be happier for her and grateful she chose Retrospect. Really enlightening and fulfilling project. Navitas making her mission clear - "Focused on the feeling she is sharing with those through music, and inspiring others to shine their light too. Passion & Love = 2 of the forces this budding artist ignites as she blossoms before us. Her magnetic performance draws you close. Moving bodies to the rhythmic flow. Energy "get up and go"! Born Elias White on April 20th, to a mother with an amazingly eclectic musical taste. It didn’t take him long to follow suit. His childhood was filled with musical adventures from many genres, and his life-long dream to one day become an influential figure for the music culture his inner sound. He tried singing and playing instruments to no avail. He formed countless groups and was always the brain behind the production and talent scouting, his inexperience was never perceived as an obstacle, but was a reality. As life moved forward music fell behind. In 2010, Elias moved to New Orleans Louisiana where music is a way of life, he was introduced to a music culture that awoken a dormant passion. Teaming up with Good Vibe Nation’s N2ishion, Jrok, Dmoney, and DJ Dr. Souss, he quickly learned how he could express his inner sound, he relentlessly studied the art of DJing. Attending hundreds of shows meeting and befriending hundreds of DJs and Producers learning how to develop his sound and make it his own. In 2015, he moved to Orlando Florida, the breakbeat state. This is where everything came together by teaming up with DJ D-Xtreme’s Cognitive Music who realized his passion and potential, the rest will be history. Enjoy!! 1. For the folks that could not catch my set at The Gemini Party D-Xtreme Tribute @ Ace Cafe, here you go. Derek and I both loved the sounds of funk, I have always been drawn to the funk sounds incorporated into breaks and other dance music. You will often find these sounds within music I choose for my mixes. He always said not alot of DJs play that and supported my desire to be a little different and play what I feel. So please enjoy this short but sweet journey into some straight up funk delivering plenty of bass. If you were not able to attend this tribute event, it was absolutely phenomenal. The vibe was extraordinary and the production was top notch, I'm so blessed to have been an integral part of such an amazing event to celebrate the life of a dear friend and Legend in music. I certainly look forward to next year, and other events to come. Keep on the look out because they will be coming. I Bring You Art From the Heart, Inspiration and Imagination. I Am Efocus

As a Mentor, Big Brother, and Best Friend Derek Steplight aka DJ D-Xtreme brought so much to my life and countless others. His Legacy is and will remain timeless. As an artist, he was one of a kind, as a friend he was also one of a kind. He was Xtreme in every sense of the word. Not someone you could easily forget. I reflect daily on the many strong words of advice he shared with me and the many wild ass times we had together. I miss him more as the days go by, as I am sure many others share this sentiment. Thank you, Derek, for the time and energy you gave me. You always said time was valuable because you never get that back. That could never be truer than it is now, so I am grateful for the time we had. Derek loved House Music with Sasha being his favorite DJ and an inspiration to his own sound. While I was geared more to Breaks he often coerced me to give House a try and I just was not interested. So on your behalf my friend I dove in just like you taught me and this mix was the result. Fair to say I had an extraordinary sensei, not only did I put my entire heart and soul into this one, I enjoyed it and am really happy with the result. So much so that I will definitely be playing more of it. You were right, as you were about many things. Please enjoy this mix to your heart's content as you will feel your connection with Derek throughout this mix. Only the finest mixes are chosen for this series so you are assured an immersive time traveling experience into the heart and soul of the artist with every mix archived. This series came to me during a very challenging time, recovering from a brain injury. I suffered unbearable pain, lost my taste, sense of smell, and lost 40% of my hearing, which as a DJ was terrifying. I had a lot of issues with memory and always very confused. Typing and texting remained intact which made it easier to not worry a lot of people while I recovered. Music also remained intact, it is bizarre, to say the least, that I have difficulties with basic household activity like eating, bathing, etc. Yet I can somehow type this description, create a mix series, and put a heartfelt mix together to kick it off 30 days after my injury, yes at the time of this writing I am still recovering, (8/12/2018) 10:37 pm. While I was laid up all I did was listen to music, but the soulful music of the 90s was most pleasing to my hurting brain. I believe it healed me, it certainly cultivated a new perspective on life and in music. The First mix 001 was what carried me through the emotional pain one endures through a traumatic event...as a very open window to my heart and soul, it felt wrong not to share this with others that may heal, enjoy, or experience the music for their first time. We’ve covered a lot of community use cases on Community Signal. Here’s a new one: An online community for a funeral insurance company. That is just one of many communities that Kirsten Wagenaar has helped build, in her 8+ year career in online community. As the founder of CMNL, the organization for Dutch community pros, she has been among the leaders in growing the community industry in the Netherlands. We also discuss: The reasonable approach to community ROI How client expectations for community tools are sometimes disconnected from reality Kirsten’s advice for starting your own community association Our Podcast is Made Possible By… If you enjoy our show, please know that it’s only possible with the generous support of our sponsor: Open Social. Big Quotes “[With clients,] we’re very keen on having people in the organization become community managers. [We’re sharing] the skill of community management and the understanding that we’re just consultants, and we are there for a short period and then they have to take it over from us. They have to understand that they need to implement the whole idea of community.” -@kirstenwagenaar “What caught my eye was the nine months to a year before you say that it is viable to measure the bottom line return on your efforts. I like that because it’s grounded in reality. It represents a patient approach which is what community needs.” -@patrickokeefe “[If you’re worried about starting a community in a crowded niche,] go to your regular supermarket and see how many soft drinks there are. You can look at the same for communities, how many communities for kittens are there? I’m sure you can make a new community for kittens that is very relevant to the people that you invite. It’s all about finding your niche. Finding something that’s relevant to people. Finding those couple of people around you that find it relevant so you’re not on your own. There’s always a place to start something new. You just have to do it really well.” -@kirstenwagenaar About Kirsten Wagenaar Even though Kirsten Wagenaar studied psychology, she has been working in the field of community management since 2009. Starting as a community manager for the Chamber of Commerce, Kirsten became a consultant for a social media agency, KREM. During which time, she founded the association for community management in the Netherlands, CMNL. When KREM merged with a larger digital company, eFocus, Kirsten became a social lead. But, as she wasn’t interested in pursuing a career in social media, Kirsten started freelancing as a community consultant in 2013 (under the name Waves & Wires). Then, in January of 2017, she started a company with Peter Staal, called Bind. Meanwhile, Kirsten has given hundreds of training presentations and courses on community building and management, consulted with over a hundred different organizations, wrote blogs and spoke at conferences. Bind has grown to four employees, community specialists that advise and do community management for their clients. CoFounders Podcast - Media and Branding with eFocus Media Group and P2P Branded BRANDI BRIDGETT Consultant, Social Media Manager, and Mother in Washington, DC Visit my website Greetings, I'm Brandi. I'm a consultant living in Washington, DC. I am a fan of entrepreneurship, networking, and fitness. I'm also interested in innovation and causes that help shape the world for the better. As a mom of three, I know how hard it is to run life, business, and still have time for yourself, but we have found that balance happens day to day. Brandi Bridgett has been in the medical field for 10 years. She started in the field of cosmetic surgery here in Washington, D.C. Brandi then started growing her own family, which directed her into looking for a new career choice. Brandi and her family were relocated to San Diego, California, where she developed a love for health and wellness. Brandi began coaching in the field of health and wellness in 2011, where she partnered, developed, and opened a health and wellness nutrition club. With this practice, she has helped hundreds of people internationally obtain their health goals through education and training, fun and engaging activities, and nutritional solutions. In 2012, Brandi and her family returned to the Washington, DC area, where she again partnered and developed a health and wellness office at the National Harbor. She and her partner have been able to touch the lives of those who are looking to lose, gain, or maintain weight, or increase their energy simply by living a healthier lifestyle. In 2013, she and her sister who is a retired schoolteacher decided to come together and take their strengths to form a company. In April of 2013, Platinum Health and Wellness was born. The vision is to teach those within the community about proper health and wellness to obtain optimum health by making health fun, simple, and magical! Over the past three years, we have been able to speak at several community events, make a name within the health and wellness field here at the National Harbor and now the goal is to expand and shape up the community one person at a time! http://www.efocusmediagroup.com https://twitter.com/eFocusTv https://www.youtube.com/user/eFocusTV/featured https://vimeo.com/efocusmediagroup https://about.me/brandibridgett https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandi-bridgett-6ba96595 SEAN FOSTER Small Business Owner in Maryland Sean Foster has been in the Advertising and Marketing field for 15 years.
