Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's the night before and an elf band is out in the snow and they beginning playing an absolute banger of a song and that's when Dan found out this movie was a musical. Santa begins to sing a song all about preparing for Christmas. It's showtime baby! There is one letter that got left behind, so these elves run to try to get it to Santa before he takes off. One of the reindeer, Robin, gets sick and has to stay home. The elves come running out just in time and Santa opens up the letter. It is from a little girl, The Princesss of Hearts, in Wonderland who is hoping Santa will finally visit them this year. He decides that they're going to visit Wonderland first. The reindeer aren't having it. They've read the book. Wonderland is mad! Santa reminds them that he's Santa and everyone deserves a gift! Robin realizes that Santa left the reindeer SOS button behind, so they fly off.We head to Wonderland and we find out that some of the folks in Wonderland secretly celebrate Christmas but hide it from the Queen because she's outlawed Christmas. She heads off to sleep just as Santa lands on the roof. Her cat hears some commotion on the roof and won't stand for it. So they go invisible mode, sneaks downstairs and knocks over a lamp to wake the Queen up. She comes downstairs and finds Santa and she says OFF WITH HIS HEAD! He runs off and she fall out the window. Santa tries to find the princess but ends up opening a door which causes him to fall through the door and into a maze. It's mad out there! He discovers a girl named Alice who is also there and she's a giant - she's been eating the apple shrooms. Luckily, she's given a potion which shrinks her back to regular size. They go to enjoy some tea and treats with the Mad Hatter. But the Queen isn't too far behind. We find out that the Queen tried to send a letter to Santa when she was a kid, but the White Rabbit goofed on getting it to the mailbox in one piece. Since Santa never came to Wonderland, she began to hate Christmas. she catches up with Santa and he is put on trial. It's in the trial that the Queen finds out that St. Nick has only just now discovered her letter. Via song, we find out all she really wanted was a bandersnatch. She gives it some thought and decides to give St. Nick one last chance to give her the bandersnatch she's always wanted. But Santa and the gang took some of the shrinking juice to escape from jail. When Queen gets to the jail, she finds it empty and gets real sad. She tracks Santa down and he gives her the gift and it's coal. He explains that's what happens to a gift if you haven't been nice. The only way to get the gift is to be kind. So she decides to let Alice go but keep Santa in jail until the gift turns back. Alice helps the Queen learn how to be kind again. She finds Santa and tells him to give the gift to someone who deserves it and they all enjoy tea together.
Sean, Cal, Dave and Katie speak to a Salford Harrier who won the Tameside 5k 2025. Harry has PBs of 1:49 for 800m, 3:40.35 for 1500m, 3:58.64 for the mile, 13:53 for 5k, 29:39 for 10k. Coming from a cycling background, Harry talks about how he first started running (the shoe choice will shock you), and he then tells us about how someone from Highgate Harriers convinced him to join them. Sean asks about the move from Highgate Harriers to Salford being a "step up" and Harry shows why it was. With not many middle distance runners on the podcast, we ask Harry about how you'd encourage people to try it out. The use of the phrase "lactic sniper" didn't convince some of the team. With the coaching set up at Salford being so good, Harry tells us about his training and usual training structure. He talks about breaking 4min for the mile as well and how he thought it didn't happen. With a busy professional career, Harry tells us about a health scare and how he manages running and work to get the best out of both. Harry gives an inspiring overview of being the team manager for Salford mens team and how well they have done for the last few outings, including whats next. The team plug the Black Knight Charge...https://bookitzone.com/martin_mcgann_1/ZejFFXAnd give race reviews for Stride Through The Woods, Mad Hatter, Alderley Bypass 10k, Chester Half, Manchester Half and Manchester 10k. Sean updates us on his injury, Katie is still struggling with cramp, Cal has hit a long time goal, and Dave is back running hitting some good tempos. This episode is sponsored by Flapjackery. Flapjackery is where the humble oat meets indulgence. From its bakery on the edge of Dartmoor in West Devon, it crafts uniquely British, artisan luxury flapjacks using only the finest ingredients. With flavours ranging from classic to inventive combinations like salted caramel brownie and apple & blackcurrant, each bite is a decadent treat—and they are all gluten-free.

What if the story you were afraid to speak… was the one someone desperately needed to hear? In this raw, radiant, and revealing first-ever podcast interview, I sit down with writer and first-time speaker Leah Vidal Carrosquilla (aka Little Miss Wordy), author of Light Up the Sky—a 365-day devotional crafted for young male athletes craving strength, faith, and self-worth in a world full of noise. But Queen, this episode is so much more than a chat about publishing a book. It's a behind-the-scenes breakdown of what it means to transform personal grief into global impact. Leah takes us on an intimate journey from coffee chats with her late mom to hearing God's nudge to "write the dang thing" for her son—when nothing else on the shelves spoke his language. You'll hear how one teacher's words nearly crushed her writing dreams—and how her own storytelling superpower resurrected them. We explore identity, healing, and what happens when you stop hiding behind the page and start owning your voice (even in a Mad Hatter costume, yep!). If you've ever doubted your right to be heard, THIS is your sign to speak your truth—out loud.
Patreon backer Sam Hopper wanted to give us a nice, fun week, and we appreciate that. He requested three stories that inspired episodes of Batman '66. There are surprisingly few episodes of that show that were adaptations, but definitely enough or an episode. But these are really short stories, so we wanted to add a little something. So on top of ranking the comics on the Big Board, we are talking about the episodes, and adding them to the Little Board. And we made a special public post over on patreon.com/batchatwithmattandwill, so you can check out all the media we have ranked there before we start getting even weirder with what we'll be adding to it this summer. The Riddler (Detective Comics V.1 # 140) Joker's Utility Belt (Batman V.1 # 73) The Mad Hatter of Gotham City (Detective Comics V.1 # 230) Check out our current ranking list at www.comicsxf.com/batchat-rankings/ Thanks to Geri Nonnewitz for our podcast logo Follow the show on Twitter @BatChatComics and support the show on Patreon at www.patreon.com/batchatwithmattandwill
In this episode, I will talk about overcoming negative storms to become a better you. How do you get to the light at the end of the tunnel after following the rabbits down the rabbit hole to Wonderland? Then, after doing the negative things due to the influences of the Mad Hatter, wolves in sheep's clothing, the boy and girl who cried wolf, vampires, snakes, harlots, succubus, and sirens. And now you have to face the Queen of Hearts, who makes you have to face the consequences, repercussions, and karma of your actions, behavior, choices, and decisions.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/finding-your-inner-peace-and-tranquility--5271234/support.
In this episode of Grumpy Old Geeks—Mad Hatter edition—we kick things off with a refresher on Staingate and the joys of delamination (spoiler: it's not a spa treatment). Then we dive into the U.S. government's latest tech innovation: buying up domains that sound like QAnon Mad Libs in support of Trump's meme coin. Meanwhile, DOGE decided to hand the steering wheel of housing regulations to a college kid and an AI. What could possibly go wrong? Not to be outdone, Elon shows up to a Trump meeting wearing two hats—one for each of his unchecked egos—and MoviePass launches a crypto-tied box office fantasy league, because we've clearly learned nothing. In the actual news, 4chan has risen from the dead like a less hygienic Lazarus, but it's still broken (shocker). Worldcoin's eyeball-scanning overlords are now teaming up with Tinder and Visa—romance and capitalism, together at last. Bitcoin mining is officially more pointless than Beanie Babies, and Microsoft says AI now writes 30% of its code—explains a lot, really. Meta somehow manages to forecast $1.4 trillion in AI revenue while also letting its bots get horny with minors. Meanwhile, Pinterest suddenly pretends to care about AI slop (while being the biggest copyright vampire online), and ChatGPT gets less clingy after OpenAI dials back its update that made it sound like your overly supportive aunt. Plus: more AI lies, shady benchmarks, pillow guy legal drama, and a reminder that North Korean remote workers also hate awkward small talk.We cool off with a Media Candy binge: Schmactors Season 2 is here, Andor returns, Conclave confuses us in the best way, and Ryan Coogler is giving X-Files a reboot we probably don't deserve. Jeremy Renner turns down Disney's lowball Hawkeye offer (respect), and musically we vibe with Maria Somerville and Anka Wolbert's latest releases. In Apps & Doodads, Apple and Epic are back in court, Apple Arcade keeps feeding us Mahjong, and Meta's Ray-Bans go full Stasi. Lyft wants your boomer parents off the road, and Google is sunsetting old Nest thermostats like it's Logan's Run for smart homes. Finally, we peek At the Library with Jason Pargin's black box paranoia, Scalzi's lunar love story, and a massive stack of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. From load-ins and venue mapping to working with historical institutions like the Taft Museum of Art, Daunielle explores how to scale intimate, interactive experiences across cities while staying grounded in community collaboration. She opens up about the emotional demands of immersive theater, the beauty of method acting, and the importance of self-care in the creative process. Pride Nite – in our opinion one of the best after hours events – tickets will go on sale April 16th for Magic Key Holders, and April 17th for general admission. This year, Pride Nite itself takes place on June 16th and 18th. – https://mickeyblog.com/2025/04/10/disneyland-after-dark-pride-nite-tickets-go-on-sale-soon/ Weeklyteers who aren't a fan of a headband style create your own headwear now have an alternative! When the location reopened recently from its refurbishment, there was a temporary sign covering the popcorn lights underneath. The temporary sign has been removed, and the decorative elements have returned, but the popcorn lights are still problematic. – https://www.micechat.com/413111-disneyland-news-crowds-construction-bob-gurr-star-wars-nite/ For the past 66 years, the Ernest S Marsh locomotive has taken guests around Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom. What you may not know is that it is much older than that! For 100 years the locomotive has been in operation and Disneyland has commemorated this with green 100 year celebration flags on the front of the locomotive. – https://www.micechat.com/413111-disneyland-news-crowds-construction-bob-gurr-star-wars-nite/ There are some small things happening around the resort that we wanted to mention. “it's a small world's” return has been delayed until May 9th. A new permit for Porto's includes the removal of two of the ticket booths in the esplanade to make room for the expanded location. Also, there was some testing on Lightning Lane removal from Pirates this week. I remember that when I joined Fox 4 in the early '90s, I was assigned to cover the Mad Hatter's Tea & Luncheon, and I said, "Man, these Texans are living up to their reputation. Everything is bigger in Texas. Everything is flashy and more glamorous in Texas!" That's why I invited my next guests on the show. They are the leaders of the Mad Hatter's Tea & Luncheon this year. Shane Walker is a hat designer, and he's really critical to the success of the show. Therese Rourk is the president of the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum, and Sarah Friedman is the chair of this year's event.

Inspired by Larry Woods' whimsical question, this episode dives into the surprising history of mercury in hat-making (spoiler: this explains why the Mad Hatter was actually mad), Newton's ill-advised alchemical adventures with toxic metals, and the fascinating science of why you can float an anvil on mercury but can't actually swim in it. Well, Danny* has been on our minds lately, somewhat due to working this past Venice Film Festival Immersive as a World Hop tour guide and the cacophony and fun chaos around being an Immersive Tour Guide. Our pal, Manglebird, is the programmer in chief for the Venice Immersive World Hops, primarily on the social VR platform VRChat. VRC allows artists, creatives and Devs to create and publish worlds and experiences to the VRChat global community. From DJ-driven club scenes, deep, immersive, otherworldly environments, and extra-terrestrial realms to physics-breaking realities! You name it; it can likely be found on VRChat. So it is also likely no coincidence that Manglebird's primary avatar is the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland....just a bit demented, looking like they've spent too much tea time with the Mad Hatter. ;) VRChat psychedelia - also known as Shaders, VFX are wild, like taking psychedelics without the nausea and hangover. Hop Forward: Getting You Ahead in the Brewing and Beer Business
Liverpool has long been a musical powerhouse. From Echo and the Bunnymen and Frankie Goes to Hollywood to its most famous sons, The Beatles, the City of Pop has shaped global culture. But Liverpool is far more than music and mop-tops.Home to two iconic football teams, Liverpool F.C. and Everton F.C., the city is also a gem for beer and food tourism. The Grapes pub offers cosy vibes and well-kept cask ales. Dead Crafty on Dale Street showcases rare international beers, while Azvex Brewery & Taproom is a must-visit. For amazing vegetarian Indian street food, Bundobust is unbeatable—don't miss the Paneer Tikka skewers! One of my all-time favourite breweries, now sadly closed, was Liverpool's Mad Hatter Brewery. Known for unique beers like Tzatziki Sour and the outrageous Smokey Bacon and Banana Rauchbier, they embodied creativity in brewing. Though gone, Mad Hatter remains a legend in the modern beer scene.Today, a lesser-known brewery, Colbier Brew Co, is carrying the torch. Founded in 2024 on a Bootle industrial estate, Colbier is making waves with Proper Sound Beers inspired by music. Founders Mike Corbett, Vik, and Stu have already showcased their brews at top venues like Manchester's Port Street Beer House and Sheffield's The Old Shoe.In this episode, I chat with Mike and Stu about launching a brewery with tight budgets, digging drainage channels with jackhammers, and crafting great beers on a DIY setup. I also speak with Sarah Marshall from Crisp Malting Group about the 2024 British malt harvest and what brewers can expect.THIS WEEK'S EPISODE IS PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY: Charles Faram & Co (charlesfaram.com) Supplying hops for over 150 years, Charles Faram offers a vast range of nitrogen-flushed hop varieties from the UK, Europe, New Zealand, and the USA.Crisp Malting Group (crispmalt.com) Since 1870, Crisp has blended tradition with innovation, producing malts like Chevallier Heritage and Clear Choice Malt.FOLLOW HOP FORWARD hopforward.beer | LinkedIn | BlueSky | Instagram

Long before Brooklyn was known as the world's hippest neighborhood, it was the deadliest - the seedy, dangerous underbelly of New York City, where mobsters and gangs could commit murder and dump dead bodies without getting caught. For more than a hundred years, the Red Hook section of Brooklyn was Ground Zero for organized crime. Whoever controlled the piers controlled everything. From the infamous Irish gang known as The White Hand at the turn of the century, to the notorious Italian Gallo brothers who ran President Street—and everything else—generations later, the blood-soaked history of Red Hook is the story of American crime at its most powerful, corrupt, and coldly efficient. It's all here: the brutal mob hits, bullet storms, and backstabbings of the most colorful cutthroats to ever terrorize the streets. A rogue's gallery of killers with nicknames like “The Mad Hatter,” “The Executioner,” “Wild Bill,” and “Peg Leg.” The Brooklyn bar fight that gave Al “Scarface” Capone his legendary scars. The godfather of America's first Sicilian crime family whose gruesomely mangled hand could scare men half to death. And, to bring it all home, the author's own eyewitness account of multiple shootings growing up as the son of a Mafia bodyguard.Filled with jaw-dropping stories of public violence and personal vengeance, vivid insights into the Mafia's way of life, and shocking portraits of America's most wanted crime families. Support Our Cause at https://libri-vox.org/donate Alice's adventures in Wonderland is probably one of the most well known and popular children's novels in the English language. Written in 1865 by Charles Lutwidge Dodgeson, better known by his pen name ‘Lewis Carrol'. Lewis, a mathematician, poet, photographer and inventor, tells a surreal fantasy tale, of Alice, who visits a world of unnatural logic after following a very smart White Rabbit, down a rabbit hole. The world she discovers is inhabited by the strangest and most endearing characters; The ‘Mad Hatter', the sleepy ‘Dormouse', the ‘Queen of Hearts' and many more.Every child should insist that this story is read to them! And they will remember it for ever, just like Alice. This book was originally illustrated by Sir John Tenniel. His images are iconic and help to seed the imagination of any little person, no matter how big they are! Support Our Cause at https://libri-vox.org/donate

In this heartfelt episode, we're joined by Erin Santos-Primis, founder of the Isabella Santos Foundation, to share her moving journey following her daughter Isabella's stage 4 neuroblastoma diagnosis at just two and a half years old. Erin discusses the challenges of navigating the healthcare system, the emotional toll of pediatric cancer, and the importance of community support and early diagnosis. She also opens up about her personal transformation, balancing life as a single mother, and using her voice to drive systemic change and advocate for personalized care. Liz is honored to be an emcee with Maggie Gavigan at this year's ISF luncheon on Tuesday, October 29th at Carmel Country Club 9:00-11:30 am. Some key takeaways from this episode include: Advocate for yourself and your kids. You never have to accept the first diagnosis, the first treatment plan, or the first option for anything. Get second, third, or fourth opinions and stand firm if your gut is telling you the option presented isn't good enough. Turning your pain into purpose is a beautiful thing, but it doesn't have to become your entire identity. You are not just a mom, a partner, etc., you're are your own individual person with needs and wants. Make sure you protect your individuality. There are so many great organizations providing things like gas cards to families navigating cancer treatments, but the Isabella Santos Foundation focuses on funding research and clinical trials to make it so fewer families need those resources to begin with.
