She is the former director of Immigration and Refugee Services at Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and a former policy and research fellow with Jesuit Social Research Institute (JSRI) at Loyola University New Orleans. Currently, she is the chair of the social justice committee at her local parish, St. Anthony of Padua. Sue talks about the positive impact of immigrants in the city of New Orleans, especially in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina. She shares stories of the way her parish and community have been impacted by increased immigrant enforcement, including the separation of families.Brian and Joe also share stories of families who are separated as a result of immigration policy. Joe shares the story of Amanda, a teenage girl at a shelter in Reynosa, who he connected with over a mutual interest in the writings of JRR Tolkien (although we will let you guess which one is the bigger fan!). Extreme heat is expected to overtake the entire country of Israel this Shabbos and very intense Heat for today for areas to the east of the Caspian Sea, areas along the India Pakistan border and this heat will redevelop later on in the next two week forecast cycle. Oneika Raymond heads to New Orleans, Louisiana to connect with the people and history of Tremé, one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in the U.S. There, she'll sit with some of the Tremé culture bearers of music, food and history to build a deeper understanding of the city's roots. Oneika sets off from her hotel, W New Orleans French Quarter. Jay has had an active research career, teaches nationally, and consults for numerous footwear companies, the US Air Force, USA Track and Field, and USA Triathlon. His ongoing research focus on footwear and the causative factors driving overuse injury continues to provide him cutting edge knowledge to educate and provide patients with an unmatched level of innovation and success.
