When I learned that house and dance music legend Crystal Waters has been finishing her first new album since 1997 and was getting ready to share singles and do interviews and therefore might be up for talking with me, I was so geeked.  I've been a fan since the early 90s when huge hits like "Gypsy Woman" and "100% Pure Love" were all over the radio, and it was an honor to get to connect with her for episode 120 and a conversation about her songwriting process, how she got her start in music, and why this current creative phase is one of the most exciting in her thirty-plus year career.  Crystal recently shared a great new single called "You & Me" -- a collaboration with the Swedish duo ManyFew -- and she was also recently honored during Miami Music Week at the inaugural Femmy Awards with awards for The Voice of House and the Female Icon Award. And there will be a lot more new music coming from Crystal in the remainder of this year, and live shows, too!

In today's solo show, I wanted to talk about clubbing, alcohol, women, and the party scene in general and how I feel about it.I recently went clubbing getting in the Miami Music Week train, and damn, it just confirmed why I've stepped back from the party scene. The energy felt off – honestly kinda demonic – and waking up feeling like garbage the next day. Not worth it. I've realized alcohol is basically stealing happiness from tomorrow to pay for today. It wrecks your body, fogs your brain, and makes it harder to feel anything real.Why do we drink? Is it to actually celebrate, or just to numb out? Society acts like you're weird if you don't join in, but I'm over pretending it's harmless. These days, I'd rather connect through music, movement, or even psychedelics than drink myself stupid.I'm learning to seek out spaces that lift me up – think gyms, wellness spots, creative hubs – instead of places that drain me. And you know what? It's okay to outgrow people who only want to party. That version of me served its purpose, but now I'm chasing something deeper.Yeah, I still get FOMO when everyone's posting their wild nights out. But those quick highs from alcohol or hookups? They leave me emptier than before. Real fulfillment comes from creating, helping others, and building the life I actually want.So here's my new move: I'm experimenting with celibacy, doubling down on my business, and prioritizing my health. Every morning is a fresh chance to show up as my best self. This isn't about judging anyone else's choices – it's about being brutally honest with myself. If something leaves me feeling hollow, why keep doing it?True joy doesn't come from running away from myself, but from showing up fully – clear-headed, purposeful, and ready to build something that lasts. That's the high worth chasing.

It's a special period for dance music fans and indeed the industry as a whole, as one of the biggest weeks in the calendar has arrived; with thousands of clubbers and industry members descending upon Markus Schulz's home city of Miami, for a host of major parties. Global DJ Broadcast was born initially as a one-off special for Miami Music Week, so it has always carried an extra resonance. For that reason, Markus heads to South Beach to curate a two hour mix of the biggest and important tunes emanating from the various parties, club and festival events.    The show features world premieres of two forthcoming Markus singles - You Belong with Tim Clark and Linney (available from Friday April 18) and Get You Higher with Pavlo Vicci (available from Friday April 4); as well as Daxson's latest Transmission event theme, The Temple of Time (available from Friday April 11).    The revival of Loops & Tings by Markus, Ferry Corsten and Omnia forms part of Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance 2025 mix compilation, with the full single available to support from Friday March 28. In this episode of Que Bola, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Abel Sanchez, also known as Miami Stadium, a passionate historian and cultural resource dedicated to preserving the rich history and culture of South Florida. Abel's journey began in 2016 when he created an Instagram page to share his love for Miami's historic sports venues, which has since evolved into a thriving platform with nearly 70,000 followers. We kicked off our conversation by discussing the current state of Miami as we emerge from the pandemic. Abel shared his insights on the city's rhythm and pulse, noting the ongoing construction and the influx of international money that seems to cater more to expats than to locals. We explored the idea that Miami has always been a destination for tourists, and how this has shaped the city's identity over the years. Cristian deepened his connection with the world of music at the age of 10, when he started studying percussions, making them shortly his art. Only a year later, for the first time, he had an incredible opportunity to perform in front of a real audience, performing on stages that led him to collaborate with great international artists. Since then, Cristian has traveled around the world spreading his talent in over 150 cities including Ibiza, Amsterdam, Milan, New York and Miami and some of the most famous clubs in the world such as Port Du Soleil in Gothenburg, Dybbuk in Athens, Le Monseigneur in Bordeaux, The Club in Milan, Ichu Rooftop in Hong Kong, Le Bain in New York, Riviera Club in Guadeloupe (Caribbean) and the Yuca in Miami. In 2011, Cristian completed an incredible summer tour in Rhodes performing for sold out shows honoring his musical preferences at venues such as Paradise Beach, Mojito Beach Bar, Boutique Club Amphitheater and Shimbas.
In 2013, Cristian released his first EP Dia De Luz, which was then followed by the success of his single Recuerdo, reaching first place in the Techhouse and Afrohouse charts. The following year, Cristian released Herencia Latina which immediately became a classic of Afro-Latin music during the famous Miami Music Week. He continued to release musical hits including Tambor y Plena, Son Sol, Masai, Cuba Libre, Que Pasa, All I need, Sonido de Calle, Conguero Y Rumbero and Caribena, the latter one of the hits of summer 2023, coming to the first places in numerous classifies.
With no signs of slowing down, he has been considered one of the 100 best Techouse and Afro house artists for years, continuing to delight with his performances around the world.
