Tree works as a Spiritual Mentor, Kundalini Support, Certified Global TRE® Instructor, Transformational Bodyworker and a Healer from the Shamanic tradition. Tree believes healing trauma can precipitate spiritual awakening and it is from this precept she works. She works with the body releasing contraction and with the nervous system establishing balance - with the understanding that a disregulated nervous system can hold the beingness hostage. She believes enlightenment is achieved not by bypassing the body, but by going into the body. By addressing and releasing trauma bound in the flesh and stored in the nervous system. This is true freedom and the result is presence - embodied. Tree has been a devotee of Meher Baba since she was 21. She and her husband are establishing a Retreat Centre on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, Australia called Meher Farm Healing and Awakening Centre. Tree is the author of Hot Flush Dark Cave describing her healing and awakening journey through the portal of menopause. She is a devoted mother, grandmother and healer - her favourite past time is swimming in the river and the ocean and chanting to God. Dougie Schofield Douglas grew up in Eden, on the Far South Coast of NSW, in his parent's rambling garden. This early immersion in Nature has resulted in a practice that reflects on the bodily experience in Landscape. Schofield is an emerging artist currently based in Sydney, NSW. In 2017 he graduated Fine Art (Hons) at UNSW Art & Design, with a major in painting and a minor in printmaking. He has had solo and group exhibitions nationally and has been exhibited internationally in China, Spain, and the Philippines. He currently has work on display in the Macquarie Group collection, Sydney. Douglas is represented in Brisbane, QLD by Aster + Asha Gallery.Schofield's ongoing body of work journals and ponders on the bodily experience in landscape in relation to his gardening practice. As a gardener and horticulturist, the climate and weather are determining factors in daily activities.Douglas notes, “We are witnessing dramatic, unseasonal and severe weather nation and worldwide. My practices of gardening and painting put me in contact with this change daily.”Their work is abstract, gestural and layered. Douglas prefers to work abstractly in an attempt to give non-figurative visual language to the contemporary experience of being in Landscape. Thanks Dougie, so great to meet you and talk about your art practice.

In this episode of The Remarkable Project Jay talks to well-travelled chef and local food delivery business owner Kelly Eastwood about being resourceful in the face of adversity, why personal connection is the ground zero of community and organisational culture, and how care is key to making customers feel crucial. After 14 years of working as a Private Chef to Royalty, Russian Oligarchs and many more on the Forbes list, Kelly Eastwood left the high seas and transferred her skills to Television. Working as a Home Economist and TV Food Producer for shows such as Masterchef, MKR, Better Homes and Gardens and The Great Australian Bake Off. The River Cottage Australia first brought Kelly to the Far South Coast of NSW, and it was there that she started her own business, Eastwood's Deli and Cooking School in picturesque Bermagui, hosting cooking lessons, pop-up dinners and coastal private catering events.During the 2020 bushfires Eastwood's was converted into a Disaster Relief Kitchen for a not-for-profit organisation called World Central Kitchen, where Kelly and a team of 270 volunteers output almost 50,000 meals over a seven week period, feeding firefighters, evacuees and displaced locals in surrounding communities. Soon after the fires were done along came COVID-19 restrictions, forcing Eastwood's to rethink their business model. Now their focus is on catering, cooking lessons and a much loved and ever growing take-home meal delivery service, which operates weekly from Pambula to Batemans Bay.Remarkable Quotes“We've all made lots of friends through our customers, which is just lovely.”“Even if it's just one person and it's 15 kilometres down the track, return trip, we still will deliver to that person because it's a service that we want to offer.”“For me, it's keeping a quality consistent, making sure that our customers are always happy with what we're delivering.”Connect with KellyExplore the Eastwood's websiteFollow their InstagramThank youCredit David Rogers for the photography

Lily Johannah Nicholson is an artist based on the Far South Coast of NSW, where she and her partner Jono are raising their two sons, Dusty and Skip, on a remote seaside property that is completely off grid and self sufficient. In this week's episode, Lily and I discuss her journey as an artist, a friend and a mother. Lily is inspiring for many many reasons, but one thing I walked away thinking after we had our conversation was just how brave she is. How she is so generous in speaking her truths and being present in the moment. We had this conversation I think only a few days before she gave birth to her second child, and I can't thank her enough for sharing her story with me.

Michael’s rock balancing art stops the world dead, and in the same way that breathing just happens, your mind automatically asks, "How the hell does he do that?" The gallery of photo and videos on his Gravity Glue website is extraordinary. Canadian born Michael has been on the Far South Coast of New South Wales over summer, bringing his brand of land art to Picnic Point and Goalen Head, a magic bit of coastline between Bermagui and Tathra. His work defies gravity, at least how the rest of us understand gravity, but Michael seems to have an ability to tap into and read this invisible earth force - something he describes as "gravity glue". How does he do it? You are about to find out! A shout out to those who support local story telling – Julie Rutherford Real Estate Bermagui, the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, and Kiah Wilderness Tours. Thanks for listening. Local writers group Mnemosyne posed the question – ‘Is feminism still relevant?’ A lively discussion followed. Your host will introduce you to the panel and the meaning of Mnemosyne. The discussion doubled as the launch of a new local journal. The Kickstarter fundraising campaign runs until the end of September hoping to turn the journal into a reality. You are about to find out more. Your host is PhD student, Jodie Stewart who has just been awarded the Deen De Bortoli Award for Applied History from the History Council of NSW for her work and research around the Bundian Way, and ancient Aboriginal pathway linking the Far South Coast and the Snowy Mountains of NSW.
