A UQ student has shown that paradox free time travel is technically possible. Dr Fabio Costa and Germain Tobar have published a paper showing how the universe will reprogram itself to account for a time traveller's actions. In other words, whatever action you take, the universe will find a way of making sure that in the end, the same results occur. So much for killing Hitler, then. You've heard about simulator racing leagues, but get ready for the Farming Simulator league. Real world equipment manufacturers are sponsoring teams to compete in the GIANTS software Farming Simulator League. This league started a few years ago but is already spreading around the world. But if you want to compete, you'd better make hay while the sun shines and start training now.The creator of the Punisher comics has gone to war against mass produced super hero stories. Wiping out a beloved franchise isn't as popular as killing bad guys, but Gerry Conway thinks this is the best way to save the industry. Is there a point to saving the industry though? This week Dan Li and Ishani Ummat from Madrona talk about a surprisingly huge IPO in China that rivals some of the US tech IPOs. For water. Dan takes a bit of a deep dive on Chamath Palihapitiya SPAC (Hedosophia II!!) and the 'memo' on OpenDoor that doesn't as much make a case for the specific company but for the market capacity. Other highlights are how image rights in social media are not what they seem (free and easy) and an esports league that had escaped our knowledge until now - Farming Simulator League - and it's global! Yes, the Farming Simulator League does exist, and no this is not a joke. An actual league with major sponsors like John Deere has popped up around the Farming Simulator game, proving once and for all that literally any game can become an esport with enough ingenuity. I am joined by Max Bettendorf to talk about what this league is, how it works, and to make a bunch of farming jokes. Hope you enjoy. The ongoing feud between Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and FaZe Clan has had another interesting turn of events. Last month Tfue left FaZe clan amidst various claims including unfair contracts. The story has been quite for a few weeks now but FaZe Clan is now counter suing Tfue for ‘breach of contract’ claiming “you betrayed us.” Meanwhile, across the pond at FarmCon 2019 the Farming Simulator League has held its first tournament and it’s unlike anything else esports has seen before. Plus, while out at EVO 2019 host of Not Your Player 2, Christine “Kooky” Solis got to interview the legendary Justin Wong.
