Hey podcast listener – quick update.I'm taking an intentional pause from producing new episodes for the main podcast, and I'm genuinely excited about what's coming next.Behind the scenes, I'm working on several big projects designed to help Peak Freedom members get better results, faster – with far less second-guessing, worry, and uncertainty. And here's what's exciting: the results members are getting right now are coming faster and cleaner than ever before. We're seeing high-leverage changes that fix firms for good – often in under eight months, and sometimes in just three to four months inside Accelerator. The relief is unmistakable. That's because the resources are solid, the community is tight and high-caliber, and the obstacles that used to slow people down are being removed.Instead of guessing, members know what to do.Instead of worrying, they test the plan.Instead of grinding, they're fixing their firms with confidence – and bringing them back under control.I'm doubling down on building the best content anywhere for accountants who want healthy, smooth, sustainable firms. While the main feed is on pause, be on the lookout for curated, topic-specific podcast feeds – pricing, packaging, niching, Simple Systems, Free Time, and a client-interview-only feed where you can hear your own story reflected back. This pause is intentional.Content is still coming – it's just getting sharper. And I'll be back with brand-new episodes and interviews very soon. What's coming next is worth the wait.…Link to full shownotes: https://www.businessstrategyforcpas.com/386…Want Pricing Essentials? If you feel trapped by your own accounting firm, it's not because of the work – it's how you've priced the work. Too many accountants are stuck in undercharging, overdelivering, and people-pleasing cycles. Break the pattern with my short PDF guide: 7 Pricing Essentials »It's free and you can read it in 5 minutes.I want to help you get your prices up without losing loyal clients.  …Want client interviews?310 From Exhausted to Having Her Life Back: Wendy Norman, CPA304 From 55 Down to 15 Hours; Same Take-Home Pay with Melissa Downs, EA293 What it Takes to Work 15 Hours per Week with Erica Goode, CPAComplete list:geraldinecarter.com/client-interview-episodes…FOUR ways I help overworked CPAs go down to 40 hours without losing revenue or hiring:THE EMAIL COURSE – Freegeraldinecarter.com/stop-working-weekendsStop Working Weekends will teach you how to reduce your hours without giving up revenue. THE BOOK – $9.99geraldinecarter.com/bookDown to 40 Hours – A Roadmap for CPAs to End Overworking Without Losing RevenuePEAK FREEDOM COMMUNITY – $197/mogeraldinecarter.com/peak-freedomFor solo and small accounting firm owners who want to rise above the insanity of hustle-cultureDOWN TO 40 HOURS ACCELERATOR – $995/mogeraldinecarter.com/40For the overworked CPA at multiple six figures of revenue who is ready to stop working weekends, wants to implement overdue changes, and doesn't want to do it alone. Jenny Blake: Free Time, Time-to-Revenue Ratios, and Rejecting the "Time Is Money" Myth

Jenny Blake, author of "Free Time," reveals how her father—an architect who gives ruthless editorial feedback with his "WKIYB" abbreviation (we know it's your book)—taught her to eliminate unnecessary qualifiers and strengthen her writing. Drawing from her experience creating a paid family newsletter at age 11 with 50 subscribers, Blake has always been entrepreneurial, guided by her mother's lesson: "you should always know how to support yourself." As the breadwinner in her marriage who rejects traditional domestic roles, Blake challenges societal pressures on both men and women around earning and gender expectations. She introduces the "time-to-revenue ratio"—a missing P&L metric that measures how much time it takes to generate revenue—arguing that revenue, ease, and joy aren't mutually exclusive. Blake dismantles Benjamin Franklin's "time is money" myth, explaining that business owners aren't rewarded for butt-in-seat time and that working less actually requires more sophistication through systems, automation, and delegation. Her three-part framework—align, design, assign—helps entrepreneurs optimize what's now, not just navigate what's next. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Today's episode is special.Because today's guest is someone who embodies the true meaning of Everyday Ultra — not just in the miles she runs, but in the life she leads.Britt Westdyke is a mother of five, a full-time leader at work, a wife, an advocate for running moms everywhere, and an athlete who has rewritten what's possible for herself by showing up on the hardest days — and every day in between.Over the past two years of coaching her, I've watched Britt rebuild her identity, discover her strength, and chase massive goals with patience, grit, and purpose. She's finished the EldenCrest 38. She's crushed her local six-hour race. She's battled struggle, burnout, cross-country home moves, childcare chaos, and the emotional weight that comes with all of it — and she's still stood on start lines with fire and belief. In this episode we break down:• How Britt found ultra running during one of the most overwhelming seasons of her life• Why chasing a big goal made her a better mom, wife, and leader at work• The truth about mom guilt — and how she reshaped it into purpose• How she trains consistently with five kids, travel, work, and zero free time• What to do when chaos derails your plans, and how to keep moving forward with confidence• Why patience (not talent) is her secret weapon for long-term endurance progress• The power of having a supportive partner — even if they don't run a single mile• Her advocacy work with For All Mothers & Strava, and how she's helping other moms get to their start lines tooThis conversation is real, raw, and packed with wisdom for every runner — parents or not.If you've ever felt stretched thin… if you've ever doubted whether you could take on a big goal… if you've ever wondered whether you're capable of more…Britt's story is your proof. And trust me — you're going to walk away believing that you can do hard things, chase gigantic dreams, and still show up for the people you love.SHOW LINKS:Want to be coached by me and my team to crush your next ultramarathon in our 1:1 coaching program? We have a Black Friday Sale NOW for 30% off your first month! Book a free call here with one of our coaches to see if we are a good fit! On this week's episode, Shawn & George interview Tiffanie Kellog who today (if you're listening on the day of release) releases her FOURTH self-published book, The Entrepreneur's Guide to More Free Time.  Tiffanie is the Sock-it-to-'em Success Strategist!  Since 2005, Tiffanie has been revolutionizing entrepreneurs' paths, unlocking greater wealth, freedom, and joy! A recent report found that the division of home responsibilities is still grossly unequal. Mothers—whether they are married or single—do significantly more than fathers. In fact, the “The Free-Time Gender Gap” report found that “simply being a woman is linked to spending more time on unpaid childcare and household work, and having less free time, even when controlling for age, income, race/ ethnicity, parental status, and marital status." The Industrial Revolution Was Supposed to Lead to Unlimited Free Time But Only Gave Us Smartphones and Endless Dopamine

Free time, one of life’s most important commodities, often feels unfulfilling. But why? And how did leisure activities transition from strolling in the park for hours to “doomscrolling” on social media for thirty minutes? Despite the promise of modern industrialization, many people experience both a scarcity of free time and a disappointment in it. Here to explain why this is today’s guest Gary Cross, author of “Free Time: The History of an Elusive Ideal.” We discuss a broad historical explanation of why our affluent society does not afford more time away from work and why that time is often unsatisfying. We begin with a survey of the past 250 years to understand the roots of our conception of free time and its use. By the end of the nineteenth century, a common expectation was that industrial innovations would lead to a progressive reduction of work time and a subsequent rise in free time devoted to self-development and social engagement. However, despite significant changes in the early twentieth century, both goals were frustrated, thus leading to the contemporary dilemma. Cross touches on leisure of all kinds, from peasant festivals and aristocratic pleasure gardens to amusement parks, movie theaters and organized sports to internet surfing, and even the use of alcohol and drugs. This wide-ranging cultural and social history explores the industrial-era origins of our modern obsession with work and productivity, but also the historical efforts to liberate time from work and cultivate free time for culture.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
