This week, Ira spoke with Giada Valenti, performing in Myron's at The Smith Center May 24 at 7 p.m. In this episode of “Talk About Las Vegas With Ira,” Giada talks about why her grandmother was her guide through life; how cooking is part of her life, along with performing; why some songs that are thought to be American or British are actually Italian; how she ended up living in Las Vegas, but performing around the world; why she sees herself as a storyteller; and the surprising country artist she idolizes.
Singer and songwriter Giada Valenti was born and raised in Venice, Italy. She is most known for her stunning music special “From Venice With Love,” which aired nationally on PBS television. In November 2017, she debuted as a headliner in Las Vegas with a concert at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. In October 2018, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where she returned by popular demand in 2019. When Giada reflects back on her life and her powerful journey, she says: “My story has been really to look for happiness, and spread happiness to others. What's kept me going throughout everything is dreaming—dream big—that's what keeps me going.”

She shares her story with #DeborahZaraKobylt on our Little Italy of LA Podcast this week, about how she began singing as a little girl and was soon discovered as one of the finest vocalists in Europe.Giada's career eventually brought her to the U.S., where she was working with some of the finest musicians from Mancini to Clive Davis, singing with Bocelli and other great masters of this generation. Yet she remains humble, living in Vegas with her manager husband, and continuing to perform around the world, when permitted during COVID.Hear Giada's story, what it was like the first time she performed at Carnegie Hall, and so many memories from Venice and her years on tour.
