Fu tradotto in numerose lingue: l'inglese O Come, All Ye Faithful, il francese Peuple fidèle, l'italiano Venite fedeli.

Today, for our final "classic episode" of 2025, we're revisiting our 2020 conversation with "All I Want for Christmas" co-writer Walter Afanasieff. Happy holidays and thanks for a great year of looking back together as we continue to look toward the future!ABOUT WALTER AFANASIEFFThirteen-time Grammy nominee and two-time winner Walter Afanasieff is best known for his collaborative songwriting and production partnership with Mariah Carey that yielded hit singles such as “Can't Let Go,” “Dreamlover,” “Hero,” “Without You,” “Anytime You Need a Friend,” “Butterfly,” “My All,” and “One Sweet Day,” a duet with Boyz II Men that was named ASCAP Song of the Year. Their “All I Want for Christmas is You” was released in 1994 and has since become a holiday standard. It hit #1 on Billboard's pop chart for the first time in 2019, giving Walter and Mariah the world record for the longest period of time between a song's original release and its arrival at the top of the chart.  In addition to his success with Carey, Afanasieff carved out a formidable reputation as a go-to producer of hit movie songs. After co-writing and co-producing the Gladys Knight single “License to Kill” from the James Bond film of the same name, he went on to produce “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, “Even If My Heart Would Break” from The Bodyguard, and “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, which became the best-selling single in the world for 1998. The Weisman Family Christmas with Brad, Jess, Catherine and CarsonThe room is buzzing before the mics even warm up—tree debates, cookie takes, and the joyful chaos that only a family Christmas special can deliver. We invite you into our living room as we swap stories about real trees versus fake, the power of a good holiday soundtrack, and why Christmas Eve still hits like magic. If you've ever argued over which movie starts the season or whether peppermint deserves a permanent spot in the freezer, you'll feel right at home.We move from traditions to taste—Plow Farms popcorn while picking the tree, the Colors of Christmas album during decorating, and Andrea Bocelli on repeat when the house finally quiets. The kids put in their votes for advent calendars, school news segments, and those TastyKake cookies that somehow disappear faster than the beef and lobster on Christmas Day. We revisit the greatest gifts—PS5s and Starter Jackets, Ataris and Pianos—and consider what rising wish lists say about what we value now: time, tools, and the chance to make something together. There's even a hopeful plea for a 3D printer, because creativity is a gift that keeps giving.Beyond the fun, we sit with what matters most: gratitude for health, faith that centers the season, and the steady warmth of being together. Not everyone gets these moments, and that awareness deepens the meaning of the ones we do have. From Christmas Vacation and Elf to Carol of the Bells and the Post-Thanksgiving music rule, this is a cheerful, honest snapshot of a family finding rhythm, laughter, and purpose in December. If this episode made you smile, tap follow, share it with someone who loves the holidays, and leave a quick review to help others find the show. What do acclaimed Italian opera tenor Andrea Bocelli, a hideous whiskey-drinking Spanish-speaking monkey puppet, and the daughter of the Queen of Hearts all have in common? Well, apart from that unforgettable evening at Burning Man a few years back, absolutely nothing...until now. For our one and only Christmas episode of 2025, the randomizer is going all the way back to the mid-2020s to pick a trio of Christmas shorts - a Simpsons short where the "Con Te Partirò" guy serenades the most important family in Springfield, an Argentinian sitcom special where a repulsive talking monkey puppet forces holiday cheer down the throat of a depressed widower, and of course a Disney Channel music video where the offspring of a villain infamous for decapitating her subjects demands that Christmas must be bent to her will aesthetically.

Send us a textA room of 2,300 people fell completely silent—and not just any room, a ballroom filled with passionate Italians—while Andrea Bocelli sang “Mamma.” That shared hush becomes our doorway into a rich conversation with John F. Calvelli about what truly unites us: heritage, humility, and the courage to build bridges across differences.John wears two hats that reveal one mission. At the Wildlife Conservation Society, he champions global conservation from the Bronx Zoo to the farthest field sites. As the new chairman of the National Italian American Foundation, he's focused on three priorities: energizing young professionals through mentorship and community, deepening U.S.–Italy ties in both culture and business, and building sustainable funding so those ambitions endure. We dive into the electric momentum of NIAF's 50th anniversary gala—honoring a 104‑year‑old WWII veteran, watching a new generation sing along, and witnessing a respectful, cross‑party conversation with Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Senator Joe Manchin, and Maria Bartiromo that modeled what civic grace can look like.Threaded through it all is a leadership philosophy shaped by family tables, immigrant grit, and St. Francis's wisdom: in giving we receive. John explains why stories move people more than statistics and how that insight helped power wins like naming the bison America's national mammal—a coalition effort spanning Native nations, policymakers, and the conservation community, rooted in the Bronx Zoo's historic role in bringing bison back from the brink. We explore how community and entertainment—film festivals, documentaries, shared meals—turn values into action, whether the goal is cultural pride or wildlife protection. If this conversation resonates, tap follow, share it with a friend who cares about culture or conservation, and leave a quick review to help more listeners find the show. Escuchar audio

Today is Tuesday, October 7th and Happy Birthday to John Mellencamp I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia Fox Theatre continues Coca-Cola Film Series with screening of 'The Phantom of the Opera' Iconic Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli reflects on 30 years of music ahead of Gwinnett concert Gwinnett honors Jimmy Carter's life on his 101st birthday All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! Break 1: Kia MOG STORY 1: Fox Theatre continues Coca-Cola Film Series with screening of 'The Phantom of the Opera' The Fox Theatre is bringing a little magic—and a lot of nostalgia—to its Coca-Cola Film Series with a special screening of the 1925 silent classic The Phantom of the Opera on Oct. 29. Here’s the twist: the film will be accompanied live by organist Ken Double on the Mighty Mo, the Fox’s legendary 1929 Möller pipe organ. If you’ve never heard it, you’re in for a treat—it’s massive, intricate, and honestly, a masterpiece in itself. But that’s not all. Expect Phantom-inspired photo ops, a peek into the Fox’s own history with the film, and, for Marquee Club guests, custom watercolor portraits by Lexi Brite’s team. Exclusive, artsy, and unforgettable. Tickets? Head to foxtheatre.org. STORY 2: Iconic Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli reflects on 30 years of music ahead of Gwinnett concert For over three decades, Andrea Bocelli has been enchanting audiences worldwide with his voice—one that feels like it was made to stir souls. At 67, the legendary tenor from Italy, has sold over 90 million albums, but it’s his live performances that truly leave people breathless. On Saturday, Oct. 11, Bocelli will bring his magic to Gas South Arena in Duluth, performing a mix of operatic arias, crossover hits, and selections from his album A Family Christmas. With Maestro Steven Mercurio conducting and surprises promised, it’s a night not to miss. STORY 3: Gwinnett honors Jimmy Carter's life on his 101st birthday Even though former President Jimmy Carter wasn’t there in person last Wednesday, Tiffany Parks felt his presence everywhere. As volunteers hammered and sawed away at what will soon be her new home in Lilburn, she couldn’t help but think of the man who championed Habitat for Humanity for decades. “This is special—for him, his family, his legacy,” Parks said. Wednesday would’ve been Carter’s 101st birthday, and Gwinnett County honored him in every way imaginable: a Habitat build, a mural at Best Friend Park, blue lights on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, and heartfelt tributes. “He showed the world that everyone deserves a home,” said Habitat’s Eric Miller. STORY 5: EXPLORING GWINNETT'S HISTORY: Your Parcel ID and the 1820 Land Lottery Ever wonder where your property’s parcel ID comes from? Turns out, it’s not random—it’s rooted in history, all the way back to Georgia’s 1820 Land Lottery. Back then, the state divided up land taken from Native Americans through treaties and forced removal, creating opportunities for white settlers to claim plots. Gwinnett County, established in 1818, was part of this process. Surveyors carved the county into districts and 250-acre lots. The first digit of your parcel ID? That’s your lottery district. The next three? Your original land lot. The last three? Your slice of that lot today. Curious who won your land? Visit the Gwinnett Historical Society in Lawrenceville! We’ll be right back. Break: LILBURN DAZE STORY 6: The Lights Fest coming to Lanier Islands Resort On Oct. 25, the night sky over Lake Lanier will come alive with thousands of glowing lanterns as The Lights Fest makes its Atlanta-area debut at Lanier Islands Resort. Picture it: a lakeside evening filled with music, dancing, and the quiet magic of lanterns drifting into the dark. Hosted at PineIsle, the event invites people to release biodegradable lanterns—simple rice paper, bamboo, and string—symbolizing hope, remembrance, or just letting go. Some come to honor loved ones, others to dream, and some just to soak in the beauty. A portion of proceeds supports the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Want to stay the night? Lanier Islands is offering a special package with tickets and accommodations. Details at lanierislands.com. STORY 7: Georgia Tech Switching to Under Armour from Adidas for Uniforms, Apparel Big news for Georgia Tech fans: starting July 1, 2026, Under Armour will officially take over as the Yellow Jackets’ provider for uniforms, apparel, footwear, and accessories. Yep, the same brand outfitting Notre Dame, Maryland, and Wisconsin is coming to Atlanta. This partnership isn’t just about gear—it’s about innovation. Under Armour’s investment includes NIL opportunities for student-athletes and even hands-on roles in product design. Fans? Expect more Tech merch hitting stores soon. Fun fact: Georgia Tech was Under Armour’s first collegiate client back in 1996. Now, nearly 30 years later, they’re reuniting. Full-circle moment, right? Stay tuned for uniform reveals! Like any card-carrying Italian worth his focaccia, singer Matteo Bocelli says he could eat pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner! From his home in Tuscany, Matteo tells host Rachel Belle about the super-simple, but deeply delicious, sauce recipe he’s been trying to perfect, inspired by a three-Michelin-star restaurant, and why you should always choose Italian pasta made from ancient grains. You’ve probably heard the tales: A gluten-sensitive American travels to Italy or France, and can magically stuff their face with croissants, baguettes and pasta without any negative consequences. Rachel asks Dr. Alessio Fasano, professor of nutrition and a Celiac and gluten expert and researcher at Harvard Medical School, if, and how, this is possible. Matteo just released his second album, Falling in Love, and if his name sounds familiar, it’s because his dad is Andrea Bocelli, the famous Italian singer. Breaking Billionaire Barriers: The Raw Power of Nonconformity with Steve Sims . What if the fastest way to gain access to the world's most powerful people is to stop trying to impress them? . In this rare and raw encore episode of The Dov Baron Show, we honor the late Steve Sims, a legend known as the “Real-Life Wizard of Oz.” Founder of Bluefish and Blue Cause, Steve redefined what it means to move in elite circles by doing what few dared: being fully himself. . From having Andrea Bocelli serenade dinner guests under Michelangelo's David, to helping clients rub shoulders with Richard Branson, Elon Musk, and even the Pope, Steve didn't just open doors—he exploded the myth that success demands conformity. . Steve shares his unfiltered approach to influence, why authenticity beats polish every time, and how anyone can create deep loyalty by connecting on a human level, not a hierarchical one. . Steve also exposes the shady underbelly of modern charity and unveils his revolutionary model, Blue Cause, which sends 100% of every dollar directly to those in need. . Whether you're a high performer looking for the edge, or a leader tired of transactional relationships, this episode is a blueprint for influence rooted in truth, courage, and connection. .

Want to reach out to us? Want to leave a comment or review? Want to give us a suggestion or berate Anthony? Send us a text by clicking this link!Catholic media stands at a crossroads as John Henry Westen, co-founder and face of LifeSite News, has been removed from his position by a 5-4 board vote. This shocking development comes as the Catholic world adapts to the leadership of Pope Leo XIV, with LifeSite's board explicitly citing a desire to "chart a new course" following the papal transition. For traditionalist Catholics who relied on LifeSite as a faithful voice, this raises troubling questions about the future of orthodox Catholic journalism and whether critical perspectives will continue to have prominent platforms. The conversation turns to liturgical debates when Father Dwight Longenecker's tweet about pre-Vatican II Masses reignites familiar arguments between traditionalists and supporters of the Novus Ordo. His characterization of traditional Masses as priests "mumbling through Mass as quickly as possible while the faithful prayed the rosary" represents what many see as a standardized, possibly manufactured narrative about pre-conciliar worship. Critics note how these identical criticisms often come from those too young to remember, suggesting a kind of cultural programming rather than historical accuracy. A striking contrast emerges through a video of Andrea Bocelli performing sacred music in a church filled with people in beach attire – illustrating how liturgical form shapes behavior and reverence.Moving beyond church politics, the show addresses disturbing trends in modern parenting, particularly regarding teenage sexuality. While discussing an extreme (likely fabricated) example of a mother encouraging her 14-year-old daughter to become pregnant, the hosts confront the very real phenomenon of parents enabling teenage sexual activity through birth control and tacit approval. This abdication of moral guidance – often justified with "they're going to do it anyway" – reflects a profound failure to love children authentically by teaching them virtue and healthy boundaries. The conversation ultimately connects these symptoms to broader cultural erosion that signals the potential collapse of our current social order, drawing parallels to previous civilizational turning points. Jannik Sinner has recorded a duet of "Con Te Partirò" with Andrea Bocelli, marking the tennis player's first foray into music. The collaboration was announced this week and was recorded in a studio in Tuscany. After nearly two years in the wilderness, former Wimbledon champion Markéta Vondroušová has won the Berlin Open, defeating Chinese qualifier Wang Xinyu in a hard-fought final. The Czech left-hander came through 7–6, 4–6, 6–2, saving six set points in a dramatic opening set. It's her first title since Wimbledon 2023, and a timely return to form just ahead of this year's Championships. It was a statement win that included toppling world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals—her first career victory over a reigning number one. American McCartney Kessler claimed her first grass-court title at the Nottingham Open, defeating Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska 6-4, 7-5 in a rain-interrupted final. The unseeded 23-year-old from Georgia knocked out defending two-time champion Katie Boulter and top seed Beatriz Haddad Maia en route to capturing her third career WTA title.
