One a very special REMOTE episode of WILD IN THE STREETS, Doug calls in from Newfoundland to discuss the mixed up crime comedy MEAN FRANK AND CRAZY TONY from 1973. Featuring Lee Van Cleef as a tight-lipped mobster and Tony Lo Bianco as the wannabe wise-guy who worships him, the two get into all sorts of trouble, including an impressive car chase ("Mon dieu!"), a factory shootout and more power drill mayhem than you can throw an apple core at. There's plenty of action, Edwige Fenech and Jean Rochefort pop up in supporting roles, and you even get a horn-heavy score from Riz Ortolani. What's not to love? Listen and find out! The post Episode 273 – Wild in the Streets – Mean Frank and Crazy Tony (1973) first appeared on Cinema Smorgasbord.
We wrap up #FANuary - where listeners chose what we watched across all our social media accounts - with Larry Cohen's 1976 classic GOD TOLD ME TO! Cohen's strange odyssey of a New York police detective whose investigation yields way more than he ever bargained for is truly a genius piece of cinema that only Larry Cohen could have created! Filled with an incredible cast (Academy Award winner Sandy Dennis, Andy Kaufman, Deborah Raffin, Tony Lo Bianco, and Richard Lynch from New World's DEATHSPORT, but, more importantly, BAD DREAMS) that rivals that of 1981's THE FOUR SEASONS, New World took two turns at releasing the film, which led to a fraught relationship between Cohen and New World head honcho Roger Corman., We discuss that along with other pressing questions, such as: how did Marc and Ryan's family feel about the TV show Space: 1999, what role Brad Dourif might have played, and debate whether walking barefoot in an airport is the same as doing so in a city. Don't miss out on our #FANuary finale! Just accept it, no questions! For all the shows in Someone's Favorite Productions Podcast Network, head here: https://www.someonesfavoriteproductions.com/

Freedom's flame burns a little less brightly today. Last night, America lost a man who loved liberty passionately and tirelessly used his enormous talents as an entertainer to help secure it. His name was Tony Lo Bianco and I was proud to call him a dear friend and mentor. In the course of a long career on and off Broadway and in Hollywood, Tony shone as one of our country's brightest stars. His favorite role was surely that of the freedom-fighter who served as mayor of New York City for twelve turbulent years, Fiorello LaGuardia. Tony received an Emmy for his one-man rendering of “Hizzoner” and for decades continued adapting and performing it, inspiring generations of our countrymen and women with that Foreign-born American Patriot's indefatigable love of this country. Thank you, Tony, for sharing yours with us so wonderfully. Godspeed, dear friend. This is Frank Gaffney.
Hunter Biden has been convicted on felony drug charges. Already, the Democrats and their media minions are using it to their advantage by attempting to derail arguments highlighting the all-out #lawfare against Donald Trump. Dr. Jerome Corsi looks deeper into the conviction, ripple effects and how the Democrats plan to use it for political gain. We also look into whether the president's son will actually serve time and, if so, whether it will be at a Camp Cupcake-type place, whether Joe Biden will pardon his son or not and how the media has been and will continue to cover this and Trump's situation moving forward.Dr. Jerome Corsi also pays tribute to his longtime friend, the legendary actor Tony Lo Bianco, who passed away after a long battle with cancer. In addition to his acting prowess, Tony was a great man, philanthropist, patriot and strong advocate for veterans.Dr. Corsi also looks at:Mastercard is testing a #biometric payment system in Poland#Russia strikes Ukraine hard - againThe ECB's latest attempt to screw up the EU economyIf you like what we are doing, please support our Sponsors:Get RX Meds Now: https://www.getrxmedsnow.comMyVitalC https://www.thetruthcentral.com/myvitalc-ess60-in-organic-olive-oil/Swiss America: https://www.swissamerica.com/offer/CorsiRMP.phpGet Dr. Corsi's new book, The Assassination of President John F. God told me to 1976 Today your decade under the influence crew attempts nobly to tackle the weirdness that is director Larry Cohen's God told me to. A.K.A the one where the great character actor Richard Lynch has got a side vagina. The late great Sonny Williams from the original cast of a chorus line is in this, as well as Sandy Dennis, Beetlejuice's Sylvia Sydney, and Tony Lo Bianco. This film is awesome and as stated, very weird. In keeping in that tradition I'll just say that at one time actor Sandy Dennis owned 33 cats. Thanks for listening folks, I'd write a lil more but this guy next to me at this coffee haus is loudly on the phone and annoyingly telling his ex that he misses her and breaking my concentration. Cheers

A couple of lonely hearts (played by Shirley Stoler and Tony Lo Bianco) find true love in this affecting documentary-style romanctic drama directed by Leonard Kastle. Hello, listeners. What can I help you with? Sorry, I'm not sure what you said. You want to listen to the "Jobs" podcast? You can download the podcast here by right-clicking on that link and choosing "save as", or you can use the convenient player located below:Ashton Kutcher portrays one of the most respected visionaries of the past...37 odd years. He has the walk, the look of Steve Jobs but falls short of the mark in creating a fleshed out character. Phil thinks he is the wrong choice for the role, Andrew thinks with the right director the performance would be successful. What Phil and Andrew agree on is that "Jobs" needs an upgrade, badly.Kutcher as Jobs, introudicng the iPod for the first time.On a completely different note, Leonard Kastle's cult 1969 crime drama "The Honeymoon Killers" gets the Albatross Applesauce treatment in our Criterion Corner. A film about an odd couple who go around murdering lonely women that is based on actual events! This black and white and darkly humorous gem features a classic performance by Shirley Stoler as the severely troubled nurse who falls head over heels for Tony Lo Bianco's suave, Spanish lothario. It's certainly a disturbing picture - but very artful and worthwhile viewing.
