Trevor Boone basically grew up inside a guitar shop. His dad started Emerald City Guitars in Seattle back in the mid-90s with a shoestring business plan, a small loan, and a whole lot of secondhand guitar-store dream dust. Trevor was the kid at the counter, surrounded by musicians, weird old guitars, shop talk, and the kind of musical obsession that tends to permanently rewire a person. In this episode, we get into Trevor's journey from pre-eBay guitar hunts with his dad to becoming one of the people collectors call when they are searching for serious vintage pieces. We talk Bursts, Dumbles, Silvertones, funky under-a-thousand-dollar treasures, and the strange balance of loving the oddball stuff while also surviving in the high-end vintage guitar world. We also dig into how guitar retail has changed, why proper setup and authentication matter more than ever, the pressure of social media, the magic of instruments that simply make you play better, and why the best guitar shops still feel like the barbershops of the music world. There is also some Boss DM-2 love, Seattle pizza talk, Garth Brooks, Stringjoy Foxwoods, and the usual amount of beautiful guitar nonsense. Support The Show And Connect! The Text Chat is back! After Lou Reed tells him off mid-treadmill (entirely inside Bert's head), Bert starts deleting Jane's Addiction and Radiohead from his library, relives Shane Gillis walking out of a Wilco concert after five seconds, and learns his most-played song of all time is "Higher" by Creed. From there, the Bears get into Tom's tour of Kid Rock's 20,000-square-foot, two-bedroom replica White House and meeting Jimmy John from Jimmy John's, a deep dive on Subway Takes and why Bert believes celebrity hot takes are all fake, the viral "white people shouldn't sit on stoops in Bed-Stuy" debate, and a deeply satisfying story of a first-class line cutter getting humbled in front of Viola Davis. Bert also opens up about the final days of his five-and-a-half-month sobriety run, including the recovery books, journaling on planes, and why his first drink back is happening at his daughter Georgia's University of Oregon graduation before going scorched earth on the dad who posted his 4-year-old breaking a rope swing "world record" in Moab. We recap our amazing July 4th weekends, discuss the weird Kelce/Swift wedding, become elated over Garth Brooks announcing another tour, and say “what the heck” to a mom. Burk shares a new theory AND a perfect song. In the meat, Mm!, we do another edition of half-baked ideas! Lots of unsticking in our business plans. We close the show wondering why Josh Hartnett thought that hair choice was a good idea? Hut Hut! Love y'all.

Hello and welcome to Aquarium Drunkard Transmissions with Jason P. Woodbury, presented by the Talkhouse Podcast Network. We're kicking off our new season with a fantastic guest: Don Was. Was' CV is stunning. In addition to his genre-bending work with Was (Not Was), Don has collaborated with some of the most respected artists in music history: Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones, The B-52s, Ringo Starr, Roy Orbison…the list could go on. These days, you can find Don with his band, The Pan-Detroit Ensemble, whose latest album is called Groove in the Face of Adversity, and behind the desk at Blue Note Records—he's been the president of the legendary jazz label since 2011. But Don has joined us today to talk about one of his very first recording projects: Ted Lucas' Impossible Love, an unheard album he cut with the cult Detroit songwriter in 1979. Impossible Love is part of Third Man Records' new collection of Lucas gold, Images of Life. Following their reissue of his stoned folk classic 1975 LP, Third Man Records has unlocked the vault, offering a comprehensive look at one of the late '60s and '70s' most dynamic Detroit talents. Spanning Lucas' career, the set includes recordings by Lucas' early regional sensations like The Spike Drivers, The Misty Wizards, and The Horny Toads, acoustic demos, and his long-lost second album, produced by Was. Don joined us to discuss his time with Ted–including a disastrous gig they played with Black Sabbath—and help us uncover this lost Motor City counter culture story. And that's not all—Don also reflected on his work with the late bandmate Bob Weir, the legacy of the Dead, and of course, his work on Garth Brooks' ill-fated 1999 Chris Gaines project. That's right: we went there. So roll up your sleeves and let's get to it, Don Was on Transmissions.

Since landing back from Walt Disney World, Cara and Bronagh have barely stopped. There's been Mighty Hoopla with Scissor Sisters and a very unexpected backstage moment, Hugo's Holy Communion, Toy Story 5 which made at least one of them cry, and a spontaneous trip to Chinatown for dumplings and nostalgic bangers that made Nathan's entire weekend. Oh, and Cara got her belly button pierced. Just casually. In between everything else. This week they've got Harry Styles (twice for Cara), the Soho House festival with Basement Jaxx headlining, and Garth Brooks at Hyde Park on the horizon. There's also a deep dive into festival outfit planning when you've got no budget, the return of the Adidas leopard print joggers in snake print, why ties are apparently the thing to wear to Harry Styles right now, and a Rivals debrief that very nearly tips into spoiler territory.Plus nits, worms, spot popping, and cow hoof abscesses. What do you get when you combine Vegas gambling drama, illegal cockfighting, Garth Brooks' billion-dollar music catalog, talking pets, celebrity chaos, and a healthy dose of completely unnecessary arguments? You get another perfectly normal day on The Rizzuto Show.In Episode 201, the crew dives into one of the wildest casino stories we've heard in a long time. A woman hits a jackpot in Pennsylvania, the lights flash, the bells ring, everyone celebrates... and then the police show up. Turns out she had voluntarily banned herself from casinos years earlier, creating one of the strangest gambling situations imaginable. Did she deserve the money? Should the casino have stopped her before she ever played? The debate gets surprisingly heated. From there, things somehow get even weirder. We head out to Nevada, where authorities busted a massive illegal cockfighting operation involving hundreds of birds, stacks of cash, and enough bizarre details to make everyone question humanity for a few minutes. Naturally, the crew also dives into the strange history of cockfighting and how it somehow became one of the oldest spectator sports in human history. As if that wasn't enough, the conversation takes a hard left turn into pet territory. If you could ask your dog or cat one question and get a real answer, what would it be? Are they happy? Do they secretly judge us? Are they plotting something? The gang spends far more time than anyone should discussing the emotional lives of household pets, and honestly, it might be the most important topic of the day.Meanwhile, Garth Brooks may be sitting on a music catalog worth up to $2 billion, which sparks a conversation about legendary artists cashing out. Bruce Springsteen, Queen, and now potentially Garth could be changing the future of music ownership forever.Plus, Lern delivers another packed Crap on Celebrities featuring Taylor Swift wedding rumors, Jeff Goldblum coming to St. Louis, Sydney Sweeney's upcoming Sleepy Hollow project, Mama June updates nobody asked for, Netflix documentaries, TV cancellations, celebrity birthdays, and one of the greatest collections of music mashups you'll hear all week. This daily comedy show proves once again that no topic is too ridiculous, no celebrity gossip is too random, and no argument is too dumb to spend twenty minutes discussing. Parents everywhere know there's a level of frustration where you stop talking… and start blasting Huey Lewis in the garage like your life depends on it. This episode starts with Rizz admitting one of his kids pushed him so far over the edge that he had to activate the emergency happy playlist — and honestly, that may be the most relatable thing ever said on a daily comedy show. The gang dives deep into the songs guaranteed to rescue your mood, including Bermuda by John Linnell, “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher,” “Power of Love,” “Stayin' Alive,” Wilson Phillips, Grateful Dead deep cuts, and enough Motown to heal emotional damage from modern life. Somehow the conversation turns into Michael Jackson hiding under your bed, CPR training from The Office, and whether Poison's “Nothing But a Good Time” should legally qualify as antidepressants. Then things escalate exactly the way they always do around here. There's major concert news with the Smashing Pumpkins launching a massive anniversary tour for Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness, plus Sonic Temple highlights featuring Shinedown, Daughtry, and Lzzy Hale absolutely crushing live performances. The crew also debates legendary tours after a “greatest concerts of all time” list sparks chaos because apparently U2 and Garth Brooks got disrespected so hard that Moon nearly launched himself through a wall.Speaking of questionable life decisions, Moon opens up about tattoo regret and realizing some of his old ink now resembles “a Walmart quarter-machine mistake.” The gang breaks down famous rock stars with zero tattoos, including Lars Ulrich, Alice Cooper, Trent Reznor, and Dave Mustaine. Meanwhile, Moon's tattoos are slowly evolving into what the show describes as “touched-up church Jesus art.” Honestly, no notes.Celebrity nonsense also reaches elite levels in this episode. Tom Brady apparently debuted a new look that made listeners compare him to Patrick Bateman, an animatronic billionaire, and a rejected Zoolander villain. The crew debates whether Brady's “perfect guy” magic is finally wearing off after another bizarre fashion appearance. There's also fake celebrity dating rumors involving Pamela Anderson and Tom Cruise, SNL madness with Chad Smith impersonating Will Ferrell, Paul McCartney showing up with new music nobody expected, and Casey Musgraves performing breakup songs on top of a washing machine because country music symbolism has fully left Earth. As always, this daily comedy show somehow mixes music nerdery, parenting meltdowns, celebrity gossip, nostalgic chaos, weird news, and absolutely unnecessary side conversations into one giant sarcastic fever dream. It's basically group therapy for people who laugh at inappropriate moments and still think “Stayin' Alive” is a medically useful song.If you love comedy podcasts, funny celebrity gossip, weird stories, sarcastic humor, music debates, and total morning show chaos straight out of St. Louis, this episode has everything except emotional maturity. And yes… somebody absolutely ends the show talking about porno birthdays. Because professionalism is dead. This daily comedy show is proudly brought to you by the beautiful dysfunction known as The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
