Triumph Racing enters the 2025 season with a striking new roster, as Jalek Swoll is joined by Austin Forkner, Jordon Smith and Stilez Robertson in what will be the team's second year of contesting Monster Energy AMA Supercross. This special edition of our On-Record podcast features all four riders from SMX Media Days.
Few remember that in 2019, when Austin Forkner was ascending in the sport and threatening a perfect season in 250SX East Region, that Jordon Smith was actually the closest rider to him. Forkner's eventual ACL injury and a title for a young Chase Sexton later become the story. By then, Smith had hurt his wrist, and struggled for years to solve that injury. In fact, he thought his career might be over. After missing major chunks of racing over the next few seasons, including two frustrating seasons with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, he took the pressure off during a brief run with Firepower Honda. Then Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing called, and Jordon's career rebuild was really taking shape. Now he's got a new deal with Triumph that could stretch to three years and the 450 Class. Jason Weigandt rings him up for this podcast. The Racer X Exhaust is presented by Yoshimura and Racer X Brand.

Plus GasGas moves away from Troy Lee Designs and into the same program as Rockstar Husqvarna, including Rockstar sponsorship. Jason Weigandt talks about all of these moves, and then talks to Triumph U.S. Team Manager "Scuba" Steve Westfall to hear how Year 1 went for the new brand. Scuba doesn't hold back! Jordon Smith won his first career 250SX race in Detroit in 2017, and hoped the 2023 edition would bring him similar fortune, but nothing went right on the night for him, and he ultimately didn't even qualify for the main event. Jordon made multiple errors on his own and puts his failure to qualify squarely on himself—but he was also involved in some aggressive racing with his teammate Haiden Deegan in the heat race. That battle ended with Jordon on the ground, and that has led to plenty of talk and opinions this week, but it's only fair to let Jordon tell his side of the story. Jason Weigandt rang him up on a Thursday to hear how it went on Saturday, and how his week has gone since. Tomorrow night in Tampa, Florida, will mark the start of the Eastern Regional 250 Supercross Championship and while much of the hype surrounds defending champion Chase Sexton of the GEICO Honda team and his rivals like RJ Hampshire, Shane McElrath, Jordon Smith and more, one rider who is rather quietly making a return to competition is Josh Hill. The 30-year-old from the Yoncalla, Oregon, will contest the entire series aboard a Yamaha YZ250F with support from the Club MX Race Team, after several years away from full-time racing. Hill, who is best remembered as a factory Yamaha racer, has spent the past few years earning a living as a freerider and social influencer, but when the opportunity to line up again presented itself, he got in shape, trained at Club MX, and is coming into this series, "fit and ready to race for wins." For this edition of the Fox Feature, we phoned Hill up for an insightful and entertaining podcast. Be sure to keep your eyes out for the number-175 Yamaha YZ250F on Saturday night!
