This weekend will mark the first of five Monster Energy Supercross events that Dean Wilson will compete in on the Honda HRC Progressive team as he fills in for the injured Jett and Hunter Lawrence. Since retiring from full-time racing last year, Wilson has maintained a fairly robust schedule, competing in races around the globe for fun and making the most of his ability to race a dirt bike. Two weeks before Ella Claire's birth, a routine ultrasound revealed a terrifying prognosis - her head was enlarged with excess fluid, and doctors initially couldn't even discern a formed brain on the ultrasound. The challenges seemed insurmountable, but Ella Claire's story was destined for a different outcome. An emergency c-section brought her into the world, and subsequent scans confirmed a formed brain but revealed a severe stroke in the womb, primarily affecting the right side of her brain, which controls the left side of her body. From mobility issues to communication barriers, Ella Claire faced daunting challenges. But her parents, Dean and Susan, refused to give up hope. They embarked on a remarkable journey that led them to embrace the power of love and determination. Over the years of home-based therapy, Ella Claire defied all expectations. By age four, she was crawling, talking, playing the piano, and tackling subjects like geography, all while learning multiple languages. At six, Ella Claire achieved her most awaited milestone, taking her first independent steps. Ella Claire is now a beacon of strength and love. She continues her therapy and daily learning alongside her siblings, sharing her incredible gift of compassion and gentleness. Her life verse, Matthew 21:18-21, reminds us that faith can move mountains, and Ella Claire's journey is a testament to this truth. Her work has appeared in feature films, commercials, and corporate campaigns. As a collaborator, she's worked with renowned songwriters and artists like Steve Dorff, Gary Nicholson, Macy Gray, and many others. She's received several awards and nominations, including the 2021 Grand Prize in the Electronic Category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
