Only three races remain in the NASCAR season. Spotters T.J. Majors and Brett Griffin are in the Bojangles Studio to breakdown the weekend of action from Texas Motor Speedway. Hear the guys react to the (too?) long 500-mile afternoon in the Lone Star State, how absent Freddie Kraft's driver Bubba Wallace contributed to the attrition of the race and where a strong day leads Brad Keselowski and TJ in the playoff standings. The gang then dives into the continued Kevin Harvick vs Chase Elliott feud. NASCAR spoke to both parties involved last week, warning of serious consequences if their battle continued. Did both drivers abide by that? Should NASCAR be stepping in like this? The guys answer these questions and hear what Harvick said about Elliott post-race on Sunday. Kyle Busch was not very happy with his performance at Texas, vocally complaining about the racing over the radio. He went as far as sharing NASCAR Executive Vice President Steve O'Donnell's email over his radio. Find out what the crew thinks about Busch doing this and what repercussions it might have. Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe exchanged heated comments during Sunday's race, as contact between the two cut Briscoe's tire down. Hamlin wasn't very happy with how he was raced and delivered a fiery jab over the radio. Hear what he said and how their incident from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course race continues to linger. Following the race, Kyle Busch was asked about the lack of respect on the race track. Busch didn't hold back in his response, sharing how he believes the younger drivers have negatively impacted the respect shared among competitors. Do the spotters see the same thing in the NASCAR Cup Series? They explain. During last week's Next Gen test at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, NASCAR confirmed the 2022 aero package. Does the gang agree with even lower horsepower next year? Their responses may surprise you. NASCAR President Steve Phelps gave strong praise for the Next Gen car last week, saying it will cure-all that currently ails NASCAR. Hear what the guys have to say about that comment and whether or not they think it will happen. The pre-race drivers meeting is likely an event of the past moving into 2022 and the table believes that is not a good decision. Listen to why the drivers meeting has served a very valuable purpose previously, even if it's not competition-related. Charter talk heated up again this week as 23XI Racing's deal for a second charter fell through. Hear what that says about the current market and how this may impact teams next season. Plus, hear what the spotters would like to see happen to open up the field to more competitors. In Reaction Theatre, Brett is accused of bias, the guys get into a faster car or fastest driver debate, TJ is warned ahead of Kansas and a sleep aid commercial makes its debut.

Corey Litton handing out post season awards and also with the latest updates from World Of Outlaws and NASCAR  MODS-Tommy Bawden won five times more than any other Mod-4 driver I watched all year.  As well as the Wissota 100 and the Wissota National Points title.  So that overwhelmingly makes him the Checkers and Wreckers Mini Mod Champion. LIMITED LATE MODELS-Ben Wolden might as well have sponsored this segment since I believe I only saw him lose one race he was entered in all year at Buffalo River Speedway.  So Wolden will be your Limited Late Model Champion. LIMITED SPRINTS-This was a battle between Ty Hanten and Tye Wilke all year, but by one point it was “Hollywood” Tye Wilke securing his second Checkers and Wreckers Championship of the year. B-MODS-After pretty much winning every night I saw him race, as well as sweeping the 50th Jamestown Stock Car Stampede, the Wissota 100, and winning the Wissota National Title, “The Nightmare” Lucas Rodin is Champion of the B-Mods.   SCHATZ WATCH Friday at Port Royal Speedway, Donny Schatz had a great battle mid-race lead battle with the “Mad Man” Kerry Madsen.  But as the laps wound down, Lance Dewease closed in on the “Mad Man” and just about stole the win at the line.  Finishing just 0.081 behind Madsen.  Anthony Macri finished in the third spot, and Schatz finished fourth. Schatz made some “Schatz like” moves through traffic to make his way up to third.  But Spencer Bayston dominated for his second World of Outlaws win of the season leading every lap.  David Gravel finished second.  Point leader, “The Big Cat” Brad Sweet, had an off-night finishing in 12th.  Schatz earned the hard charger award for the night by passing 9 cars on the night.  Sweet has now only a 92-point lead over David Gravel going on to Kansas City and the Lakeside Speedway on Friday, October 22nd. NASCAR The NASCAR Cup Series took on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval Sunday where Kyle Larson picked up his seventh win of the season making him the only driver to win three road course races in one year.  This despite having troubles early in the race causing his crew to have to change the battery and replace the alternator belt under caution dropping him deep in the field.  The race definitely had its share of crazy moments though.  On lap 55, Kevin Harvick absolutely dumped Chase Elliott in retaliation for an incident that happened at Bristol September 18th.  Elliott's crew got his car back together as possible elimination from the playoffs seemed imminent.  Elliot managed to claw his way back to Harvick and was within striking distance when on lap 99 Harvick got into the first corner a little too hot, locked up his breaks, and piled into the wall ending his day and eliminating himself from the playoffs.  Elliot managed to finish 12th and when asked about the incident with Harvick he said, “I wish him a merry offseason and a happy Christmas.” Punching their ticket into the round of eight in the NASCAR playoffs from eighth to first are Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Chase Elliot, Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson. With only 4 races left in the season, the Cup Series heads out to the Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday. WHAT'S UP Tonight and tomorrow, it's the Inagural Can-Am Clash at the Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI.  They will have all the Wissota classes (Hornets, Mod Fours, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Mods, Super Stocks, Modifieds and Late Models) competing for their another shot at national points.  Follow Checkers and Wreckers with Corey Litton on Facebook as well as @Chexnrex on Twitter and Instagram for FM's number 1 source of racing news.   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Another dramatic NASCAR Cup Series elimination playoff race has the spotters fired up after race weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. Brett Griffin and T.J. Majors are in the Bojangles Studio, while Freddie Kraft calls into the show from the Next Gen test at Charlotte Monday morning. Now that the Round of 8 is set, T.J. talks advancing with Brad Keselowski further than most expected and how the No. 2 team overcame multiple spins on Sunday. Looking ahead to the next three races, Brett asks T.J. to honestly assess the team's opportunity to advance. Hear who may be favorited moving into the final four races and why there's no room for error. Kevin Harvick dished payback to Chase Elliott mid-race at the ROVAL, sending Elliott into the Turn 7 wall. The spotters share their initial reactions to the incident, how the fans reacted and the No. 9 team's ability to stay on the lead lap. Then as Elliott closed back in on Harvick, Harvick made a mistake that eliminated him from the playoffs. Hear the guys talk about how his plan completely backfired. After the first incident, the No. 9 team suffered major rear end damage. The bumper cover then hung off the car for numerous laps before flying off to bring out a debris caution. Why didn't Elliott get the black flag like NASCAR has done to drivers with loose bumper covers in the past? The crew dissects that call and the tweet that the main NASCAR account sent and later deleted after the yellow flag. Rick Hendrick suggested post-race that NASCAR should now intervene between Elliott and Harvick. Do the spotters agree? They debate and tell us whether they think this rivalry is over, or just getting good. Plus, they predict what to expect between the two in the Round of 8. As William Byron fought for his playoff life late in the race, Tyler Reddick may have had a hand in costing Byron a shot at the win. Hear what the gang says about how the two raced each other. Following the first NASCAR Cup Series dirt race in over 50 years, Speedway Motorsports Inc. CEO Marcus Smith joins Dale Earnhardt Jr. after hosting the dirt race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. Smith delves into many exciting projects surrounding his portfolio of race tracks including the latest on Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, plus promoting NASCAR’s inaugural trip to Circuit of the Americas. Dale Jr. along with co-host Mike Davis have a lot of questions about what went down in Bristol and what could be coming down the pipeline for Smith and SMI. Smith details the next-level weather challenges Bristol faced over the weekend. He explains how his team adapted and overcame the curveball Mother Nature threw at them in their first attempt to host the Cup Series on dirt. He then explains the origins of the idea of covering Bristol with dirt, why he initially turned it down, and how it eventually all came together. Plus, what lessons were learned from Bristol’s original dirt attempt in the early 2000s? He shares those and why some dirt from that track was used again. Crafting a brand-new dirt track was no easy task and Smith details the process of preparing the surface and the intricate details that made it work. Then, Dale Jr. shares his hopes for when the dirt is removed from the surface later this spring. The dirt race weekend will return in 2022 and Smith explains how that decision came together over the weekend and the unique way it was announced during Monday’s Cup race. Now a year into the pandemic, Smith reflects on the circumstances his company has faced trying to host large-scale entertainment events. He shares what he believed the pandemic taught the sport and how things will look once a sense of normalcy returns. After Dale Jr. and Smith took a trip to Nashville for a visit with the mayor, Smith explains the progress his team is making in their effort to get the contract to renovate Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He lays out what his plans are, how noise concerns will be addressed, and why this project will be beneficial for Music City. Marcus addresses what the future looks like for Atlanta Motor Speedway and what he hopes to see happen in the state of Georgia that hopefully could transform the speedway property. This leads to a discussion about shifting the schedule around for his speedways, why changes were made for 2021, and what could possibly change in future years. How did SMI take interest in hosting a race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX? Smith explains and shares how Texas Motor Speedway reacted. Smith leaves us with some major news drops including a proposed innovation for Bristol Motor Speedway and why a favorite track of Dale Jr.’s can’t be written off quite yet. In Ask Jr. Presented by Xfinity, Dale talks about his reactions to the Bristol dirt action, testing with a radio in his race car, and his thoughts on iRacing’s Chicago Street Course.  Learn more about your ad choices.
