A Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Central — CEEAC — concluiu que “não existem provas sérias e convincentes” sobre uma tentativa de golpe de Estado em São Tomé e Príncipe, declarada pelas autoridades em 2022. O país estava à espera desta conclusão?Sim, estávamos à espera das conclusões que foram apresentadas. Neste relatório, a CEEAC defende uma reforma vigorosa na justiça e que o Estado se deve responsabilizar pelas ações dos militares, defendendo que deve haver punição daqueles que são culpados por esta tragédia.O relatório diz que não existem provas sérias e convincentes sobre a tentativa de golpe de Estado em 2022 em São Tomé e Príncipe. Em 2023, o presidente da CECAC, Gilberto Veríssimo, assegurou à RFI que existiam provas irrefutáveis. O que é que mudou em dois anos? Acha que pode ter havido pressão das autoridades são-tomenses?Há muito tempo que o documento apresentado é de conhecimento do CEEAC. O que aconteceu na altura, devido à proximidade que existe entre o presidente da CEEAC e alguns responsáveis aqui de São Tomé e Príncipe, pode ter condicionado a tomada desta posição e levaram a essas declarações.Porque o que é certo é que qualquer pessoa, com algum conhecimento do que é um golpe de Estado num Estado africano, não comunga que aquilo que se passou em São Tomé e Príncipe [ tenha sido um golpe de Estado). No dia seguinte não houve nenhuma contingência ou obrigatoriedade de recolher. Não houve nada e, portanto, isto não passou de uma tentativa de uma “inventona”, como alguém disse. Agora é preciso apurar a culpabilidade daquele que realmente esteve envolvido e isso vem expresso no documento.A investigação da Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Central contraria a acusação do Ministério Público, que contou com o apoio de Portugal, contra nove militares, assim como a condenação de um civil. Este relatório põe em causa a acusação do Ministério Público. E o que é que vai acontecer agora?É claro que deve haver uma reforma da Justiça. Isto leva-nos a entender, estou a falar com base nos resultados do relatório, que todas as acusações e todas as diligências feitas anteriormente entram em oposição com o resultado desse relatório. E aqui, mais uma vez, é chamada a atenção do Estado, instando-o a  tomar uma posição. O julgamento que foi feito e as pessoas que foram condenadas, quando agora temos um relatório que apresenta resultados completamente contrários às decisões tomadas pela justiça. Estamos perante um problema muito sério.O documento faz referência a elementos que poderiam levar à conclusão de “uma instrumentalização e manipulação pelas quais certos líderes militares podem ser responsabilizados por razões não declaradas”. O que é que se entende por esta manipulação de certos líderes militares?Eu creio que são aspectos tão claros. Estas chefias militares foram manipuladas a tomar essa posição, porque nenhuma chefia militar agiria de ânimo leve.Foram manipuladas por quem?Por dirigentes políticos. Neste momento. não se pode acusar ninguém e, enquanto analista político, dou o benefício da dúvida,  não acuso ninguém. Mas este relatório deixa claro que os militares estavam a cumprir ordens de alguém.Os peritos da CEEAC apontam o dedo aos membros das Forças Armadas por toda a violência ocorrida a 25 de Novembro de 2022, e referem que o Estado de São Tomé e Príncipe é agora obrigado “a persegui-los e a puni-los”. Acredita que o Estado são-tomense tem essa idoneidade para responsabilizar os membros das Forças Armadas?Essa é a questão fundamental. Porque, na verdade, todos reconhecemos que aquilo que se passou no quartel-general no dia 25 de Novembro de 2022 — o massacre, a tortura daqueles indivíduos — perante a comunidade internacional e perante os são-tomenses, precisa de ser esclarecido e as pessoas devem ser punidas.Agora, a questão é perceber se estão reunidas as condições para o fazer. Será através do Tribunal Militar ou será através do Tribunal comum? São questões que o Estado são-tomense tem de responder, encontrando as formas certas para agir. Não acredito que estejam criados os mecanismos para que haja essa punição, mas dou o benefício da dúvida ao Estado de São Tomé e Príncipe que deve a todo o custo evitar precedentes.O relatório faz referência à necessidade de o Estado proceder a uma reforma institucional e a uma reforma do sistema da Justiça. Quais são as prioridades?Quando se fala da justiça, é preciso lembrar que este sector é composto por um conjunto de pilares que devem ser alterados. É preciso que, de uma vez por todas, o poder político deixe de influenciar o poder judicial, porque isto continua a acontecer em São Tomé.É preciso que isso acabe de uma vez por todas, para que toda a justiça seja autónoma na sua acção. Foi aí que você decidiu mudar de vida? Sim. Foi nesse momento que a gente reciclou as ideias. Comecei a me cuidar mais, com acompanhamento médico. E aprendi que não existe fórmula mágica: alimentação, exercício e cuidado médico. Esse é o tripé. Não conheço outra forma de vencer. Você cresceu no ABC paulista. Como foi esse ambiente na sua formação? Fui criado num bairro perto de várias saídas do ABC para São Paulo. Tinha de tudo: espanhóis, italianos, nordestinos, negros. E a gente era criado igual. Só anos depois fui entender o que era o preconceito. Na infância, isso não existia pra gente. Você já falou abertamente sobre o álcool. Como foi esse processo? Bebi muito. Durante um tempo, a bebida foi uma fuga. Mas a verdade é que isso não funciona. Quando você começa a perder rendimento, percebe que essa fuga não resolve. Você acorda todo dia e a vida continua. Se você não continua também, fica pra trás.

La palabra arrepentimiento proviene del griego Metanoia, que significa cambio de mente. Muchas veces nos sentimos estancados por pecados ocultos, pero cuando los confesamos y nos apartamos, Dios nos da libertad y misericordia. No basta con confesar: hay que tomar decisiones, cortar relaciones, alejarse de todo lo que te lleva a pecar. Hechos 3:19 (NTV). El arrepentimiento no es solo pedir perdón, es cambiar de dirección; y no puedes lograrlo por tu cuenta. Necesitas a Dios para cambiar. El arrepentimiento verdadero te acerca a Dios, por eso no corras de Él, corre hacia Él. Mateo 3:8 (NTV). El verdadero arrepentimiento se nota, se demuestra más por tus acciones que por tus palabras. Juan 3:17 (NTV). Dios no te condena y no está esperando castigarte, Él quiere restaurarte. Él no te señala, ni te llama por tu pecado. Pedro, el discípulo de Jesús, era impulsivo, voluntarioso, siempre quería impresionar a al Señor. Era el primero en hablar, en actuar… pero también en equivocarse: prometió fidelidad hasta la muerte, pero en Getsemaní cortó la oreja a Malco; luego, negó a Jesús tres veces y corrió a esconderse. (Juan 18). Muchos hoy también se esconden en lugares conocidos: estudios, trabajo, actividades. Cosa que no son malas en sí, pero te pueden alejar del propósito de Dios. Entonces, Jesús vuelve a buscar a Pedro. Una vez más, en la orilla, con una fogata. Como la fogata donde Pedro le negó. Jesús le invita a desayunar, a compartir la mesa. Le restaura en el mismo tipo de escenario donde falló. Jesús puede convertir tus mayores fracasos en tus mayores victorias. No necesitas ser perfecto para sentarte con Jesús. Vas a la mesa para que Él te transforme. Jesús le pregunta: “Simón, hijo de Juan, ¿me amas?” No le habló a “Pedro, la roca”, sino a Simón, el frágil, el inestable, porque Dios no llama a los perfectos, llama a los dispuestos. On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the long-awaited roll out of Apple CarPlay Ultra and Samsung's all-new S25 Edge, which is positioned to rival the iPhone 17 Air later this year. Apple this week announced CarPlay Ultra, its next-generation ‌CarPlay‌ experience. ‌CarPlay‌ Ultra fully extends across all of the vehicle's display, including the instrument cluster. It provides access to real-time vehicle data, supports iPhonewidgets, theme options, instrument cluster display customizations, and introduces integrations for vehicle functions. ‌CarPlay‌ Ultra is available first in new Aston Martin models in North America. Existing Aston Martin vehicles will also support ‌CarPlay‌ Ultra through forthcoming software updates. Looking ahead, Apple says it has secured commitments from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis to bring ‌CarPlay‌ Ultra to their vehicles in the coming year. Other automakers are expected to follow. In other news, Samsung this week announced the Galaxy S25 Edge — a device clearly designed to undercut the ‌iPhone 17 Air‌'s expected appeal, with both smartphones aiming to be the thinnest in their respective ecosystems. The Galaxy S25 Edge sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a titanium frame, and a remarkably slim 5.8mm profile, weighing in at just 163 grams. It features a dual-lens camera system, including a 200MP wide-angle sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, supported by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Samsung is also pushing its AI credentials with features like Drawing Assist and Audio Eraser. In contrast, the ‌iPhone 17 Air‌ is rumored to be even thinner at just 5.5mm, making it Apple's slimmest ‌iPhone‌ ever. It is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with ProMotion. Apple is said to be removing the ultra-wide camera entirely and opting for a single 48MP wide camera, removing the SIM card tray, and the secondary stereo speaker to save internal space. Other expected specifications include a 24MP front-facing camera, 12GB of RAM, and the A19 chip. While the ‌iPhone 17 Air‌ may win the title of thinnest flagship, it could come with a major compromise: battery life. According to internal testing leaks, only 60–70% of users are expected to get through a full day on a single charge — a notable drop from the 80–90% seen with other recent ‌iPhone‌ models. Apple is reportedly using a higher-density battery and its custom C1 modem to squeeze as much efficiency as possible into the super-thin design.  To address this, Apple is reportedly developing a new USB-C battery case, designed to extend the ‌iPhone 17 Air‌'s runtime. The accessory could launch alongside the device to help mitigate negative perceptions around longevity

M.G. Leonard is the author of 16 children's books, which have won heaps of awards. She was awarded Sainsbury's Childen's Book of the Year, and the British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year 2021. Meanwhile, as a child at school, she was told she'd never become a published author - that she simply wasn't smart enough.Before becoming a writer, she managed bands, ran an indie record label, and worked as a professional actor with some of the biggest names around. She now uses her performance experience to help her write, by reading her work aloud to get the flow and editing that way. Maya started writing her first children's book to overcome a lifelong phobia of insects. So, to get past her fear of beetles, she wrote about them, turning the story 'Beetle Boy' into a bestseller, and now has over 100 of them. She has co-written the 'Adventures on Trains' series with Sam Sedgman, published 'The Twitchers Quartet', along with other books for young readers.
