To truly understand faith, we need to study the people whose faith Jesus personally commended—and surprisingly, none of them were Jews. In this episode, we dive into the stories of the Roman centurion, the Canaanite woman, and the ten lepers, uncovering what made their faith stand out. Apostle shares a powerful insight: overfamiliarity with faith teachings can dull our expectations from God. So, how do we break free from unbelief? By reflecting on past divine encounters and curating biblical stories of those who triumphed through faith. Let these lessons reignite your expectation and trust in God.

Faith is not religious beliefs. It's not something that you just reside in, like sitting in a church pew. Faith requires action. It's pushes you to grow. Pushes you to trust. Pushes you to do the hard thing, the right thing, and move in the calling God placed on your life. On Sunday, February 23, 2025, Pastor Chad Gilligan wrapped up his "Room for More" sermon series by calling everyone to make a commitment to faith.

Sermon Series: The Substance of Faith Lead Scripture: Hebrews 11:1-2 (NKJV) Pastor Colins engaged the congregation on the ongoing topic, "The Substance of Faith," with powerful insights and contributions. Key takeaways included: - Faith isn't the absence of fear but acting in spite of it. - "He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him." - Faith vs. Foolishness: How do we distinguish the two? Where do we draw the line? - Connection is key: "If you don't connect, you cannot be connected." - The foundation of true faith is obedience.

The great mistake made by most of the Lord's people is in hoping to discover in themselves that which is to be found in Christ alone.
Abraham's life was full of tests that God used to build his faith and to grow His kingdom. We are no different, but far too often, we are merely trying to through the test, while God is trying to get through to us.
We often think of Noah on the Ark with his family, surrounded by animals with the rainbow in the background. This image is a beautiful picture of God's faithfulness, but Noah's faith was commended many years before. Noah had faith before the flood to follow God's command to build the ark to bring about salvation to his family. As we study the life of Noah, may we be encouraged to follow his example to live by faith, not by sight.
Enoch's life was not remembered by an extraordinary event, but a daily exercise of walking with God.
Hebrews 11 is known as the Heroes of Faith but the purpose is to point to the Hero of our Faith, Jesus Christ. Faith isn't merely found in the strength of the individual, but in the power of God. It is the action of our belief that is rooted in God's activity from Able to Abraham and beyond. Each life speaks to the only true life in Christ and serves as both an invitation and instruction of how we are to live by faith.

I'm Jeremy McCandless, your host, and today's episode is set to explore a profound question that many of us may have pondered: "Why are Some People More Grateful than Others?" Drawing inspiration from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7, verses 36-50, we aim to unravel the intricacies of gratitude and its roots in our spiritual lives.Episode Notes:Title: Why are Some People More Grateful than Others? (Luke 7:36-50)In this episode, we delve into the dynamics of gratitude and explore a story from the Gospel of Luke that sheds light on the varying degrees of gratitude among individuals.Opening Reflection:Have you ever wondered why some believers seem to overflow with gratitude while others struggle to acknowledge the grace bestowed upon them? We begin by meeting the characters in this story: Jesus, a Pharisee named Simon, and a woman from the city known as a sinner. The setting is crucial in understanding the unfolding events. The Woman's Act of Love (Luke 7:36-38):The narrative unfolds as the woman, with an alabaster jar of perfume, expresses her deep love and gratitude for Jesus in a way that challenges societal norms. Her actions set the stage for a powerful lesson on forgiveness and love.Simon's Critical Perspective (Luke 7:39):Simon, the Pharisee, silently critiques Jesus for allowing a sinful woman to touch Him. This judgment sparks a series of profound insights into the nature of forgiveness and its impact on gratitude. The Amount of Forgiveness and Love (Luke 7:40-47):Jesus poses a thought-provoking question about two debtors, emphasizing that the one forgiven more will love more. This principle extends beyond financial debt, resonating with the spiritual reality of forgiveness and gratitude. Jesus declares the woman's sins forgiven, highlighting the connection between faith, forgiveness, and salvation. The story concludes with the assurance of peace, inviting reflection on the profound impact of faith on our lives.Key Observations:I. Natural Consequence of Faith:II. Comparing with God's Standard:Closing Thoughts:As we draw this episode to a close, may you reflect on the message embedded in this story. Gratitude, love, and awareness of our spiritual condition are interconnected elements that shape our faith journey. Let us strive to live in peace, knowing that faith, forgiveness, and love intertwine to create a tapestry of spiritual richness.Thank you for joining us today.Support the showMy Amazon Author Pageamazon.com/author/jeremymccandlessJeremy McCandless is creating podcasts and devotional resources | PatreonHelp us continue making great content for listeners everywhere.https://thebibleproject.buzzsprout.com

The walking wounded are all around us. They're propped up by their wealth, their beauty, and their success. However, under the surface, they're not only hurting, but they're in a fog. On today's edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson and Lauren Green, the chief religion correspondent for Fox News, continue discussing her book, Lighthouse Faith. Lauren notes how the Lord is the lighthouse to the world and His light cuts through the haze to illuminate the dangerous rocks of self-destruction.
