The east coast of Florida has its sea turtle nesting season between March 1 and Oct. 31, while the west coast begins in May. Dr. Justin Perrault, the Director of Research at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach tells us what beachgoers should watch out for.
Lighton tells us that just over 3,000 sea turtle nests were destroyed by the storm, but that's a small percentage of the nests that were left on the beach ahead of Hurricane Dorian. He also talks about what to do if you see exposed or cracked eggs on the beach.
Jack talks about an event this weekend to raise money for Loggerhead's sea turtle hospital and updates us on the 2019 Sea Turtle Nesting Season, which has been underway in Palm Beach County since March.
