Imagine a world where technology allows for direct interface between the human brain and quantum computers, exponentially increasing the creative abilities of humanity and holding the potential to make war, hunger, poverty, pandemics and other human suffering obsolete. When human capability is enhanced by that much, how does ego resist the temptation toward power and control? What would happen if an ultimate technological power gets into the wrong hands – those who further seek to link minds directly through this quantum computer into an augmented hive-mind? A sequel to his first offering, The Lost Theory, Michael Kelley takes the reader to the characters' lives nine years later in the thrilling sci-fi adventure, The Devil's Calling. Kelley mixes mystery, science-fiction, philosophy, spirituality and action in this globe-spanning thriller of a novel. As in the previous book, the story centers around Sean McQueen and Emily Edens, the latter nominated for a Nobel Prize in Physics, finding themselves thrust into the position of having to save the world with the help of friends and an AI the two befriended. On the surface, Kelley takes the reader around the planet for an intriguing high-tech experience while at the same time leading a similar tour of McQueen's mind, inner conflict and feelings for Emily. For those in our listening audience who enjoy the proverbial “Easter Eggs” within books and other creations, Kelley offers nods to some of the great classic rock artists sprinkled throughout the book.Michael Kelley fell in love with literature and creative writing while at the University of Pennsylvania. He put this passion to the side during a lengthy career on Wall Street, where he worked as a lawyer, built an international business, and founded his own investment management firm. After leaving the financial world, he engaged in studies of quantum physics, Eastern mysticism, and philosophy. From these studies, he developed a "Theory of Everything" which became the basis of his novels. After years of life in New York City, Michael now lives in the peaceful woods of Dutchess County with his wife and daughter. There, he enjoys meditation, yoga, wine, reading, and hiking, all of which inspire his writing.

Master Lampé has come a long way, been traveling Between The Worlds, releasing on Soupherb and Phobos amongst other labels. His productions have hijacked many festival PAs this year, like Boom, Lost Theory or Wonderland and received massive support and feedback from DJs and dancers. So we at Digital Diamonds are very pleased to present you 2nd EP by Lampé on our label: Three progressive techno crackers that proof his sophisticated sound design and cinematic production skills. The cherry on the top is a crunching and stomping Joseph Disco remix of Crystal Cave, which at the same time is Joseph's debut track on Digital Diamonds. All in all a dope EP - Listen and repeat!

Checking your privilege. Invisible knapsacks. Intersectionality. In his new book from Verso, Mistaken Identity: Race and Class in the Age of Trump, Asad Haider questions the terms and concepts that underpin much liberal and left conversation about race and racism, exploring critiques advanced by the black radical tradition to mount a thoroughgoing demolition of what we now refer to as "identity politics" — something that had a quite different meaning when it was first coined by the black, radical lesbian feminists of the Combahee River Collective. This is not a book that dismisses racism and sexism. Quite to the contrary. Haider shows that we can only confront and defeat oppressions like racism and sexism if we recognize their relationship to the capitalist exploitation of the working class as a whole. The corollary is also true: capitalism can never be defeated without recognizing and fighting the various oppressions that help sustain it. Thanks to Verso Books. After 4 seasons of flashbacks of Jack, Kate and Sawyer it was nice seeing the "Chopper Crew" get their day in the sun.My adoration of Rebecca Mader began with this episode too :) I look at a series of theme progressions over Seasons 2 to 4 in regards to John Locke's Theme. My "2008 LOST Theory of Time Travel" (which I now view as laughable) also gets an airing.Play List:Assorted Tracks/Artists LOST Season 3-4 - Michael Giacchino - Click here to download episode
