Send us a textWe dive into two "Am I The Asshole" stories that showcase relationship boundaries being tested and communication breaking down in fascinating ways.• A host of dinner parties deals with a friend who repeatedly takes all the leftovers despite being asked not to• After multiple warnings and clear boundary-setting, the host finally stops inviting the friend to parties• The leftover-taker gets upset when not invited, despite having multiple chances to respect the boundary• A young couple gets into a heated argument when discussing protein intake leads to weight estimations• The boyfriend attempts to guess his girlfriend's weight after she makes potentially self-deprecating comments about being heavier than she appears• Self-deprecating humor about weight can backfire dramatically when taken literally• Weight discussions are rarely necessary outside medical contexts and often lead to hurt feelings• Both stories highlight how important clear communication and respect for boundaries are in relationships• Setting and enforcing boundaries is difficult but necessary for healthy relationshipsRespect people's boundaries around their possessions and their bodies. Don't guess people's weights, and if someone asks you not to take their leftovers, just don't do it!Support the showDo you have a story you would like to share? The Headlines: People Keep Mistaking Nail Glue for Eye Drops – Read more SpaceX Mission To Bring Starliner Astronauts Home Postponed Due To Hydraulic Issue – Read more People Keep Mistaking Nail Glue for Eye Drops Double-check that label before using eye drops! A TikToker named BreezyBre is in the news after she accidentally grabbed a tiny bottle of fingernail glue instead of eye drops — and ended up gluing her eyes shut. BreezyBre posted a video from the emergency room after the mishap, saying she was in "so much pain." A brand called Kiss sells fingernail glue in bottles that look almost identical to eye drops, which is causing the mix-up. Doctors say this is becoming a more common problem as more people unknowingly mistake the similar packaging. BreezyBre’s situation required immediate medical attention to carefully remove the glue from her eye area without causing permanent damage. Thankfully, she’s okay now — but maybe store your nail glue and eye drops in different places from now on!

Love is not an emotion. Love is a choice. Falling in love or being in love is an emotion. Many do not understand the difference and it may cost them dearly.
Contact Welcomed HereTo think things can't or shouldn't be happening is to think wrongly about all that is happening. Whether what is happening should be happening is irrelevant to the fact That it is always happening as it is happening Now Where We Are. Start here and the variables of what you'd like to have happen will be stabilized by the certainty of everything happening. Mistaking, misappropriating, and misusing thoughts lead to misguided actions - and the vain claim we "had nothing to do with it". Our discussion is not about the infertility of mass-debation or coming to new echoes of chronic thoughtless terms but conceding Life's terms are currently in perfect order and place. That what is happening is happening is very different than asking why, where, when, what, and how things happening could or should possibly be happening. Witnessing something happen and then thinking it is unbelievable is an indication of how flimsy belief is since it is a product of thought; that is so flexible as to allow us to misuse it in our experience and then blame and abuse others for what they think with little or no reluctance at all. That IT IS, is stable As IT IS, since what is not in question is certain, having no doubt. Pain monitors what is wrong - to misread its cues is to ask for and receive more troubling news. Functional literacy accurately reads our body language - assigning feelings to how and what we are thinking about what is happening - not who we are but what and how we utilize thought; as something we do. We cannot be what we do any more than we become a foot arm or leg by thinking about them. We do not struggle with Life, Love, or Reality - we struggle with what we think about IT, and whether we like or dislike what we think. We Know We Know. We Are Aware We Are Aware. We Are as We Are. Reality is unlimited and never changes. The idea that how and what we think creates reality suggests otherwise. Acting on backward thoughts leads to behaviors that are out of order. Anxious and systemic disorders reflect this impossible attempt to reverse the Laws of the universe that govern nature's order. Disease is the lack of ease created and maintained by such twisted mental acrobatics. Principles affirm our indivisible nature. Sharing principles affirms and confirms our indivisibility. We can choose desperation or Inspiration. Absolute Intelligence is our Knowing nature. Ignoring what is happening produces unintelligible ignorance - not reality.contact@mentalobsession.com
When Steve Smith set out to hitchhike from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to Canada's west coast back in 1968, he was just an eighteen-year-old hippie with an appetite for adventure. But a short way into his journey, a reckless decision to steal a car landed him in police custody. Afraid of getting caught with the two tabs of acid in his pocket, Steve popped them into his mouth. It was one of the worst decisions of his life. Mistaking his drug trip for a mental breakdown, the authorities placed him in Ontario's notorious Oak Ridge mental health facility. While there, not only did he find himself shoulder-to-shoulder with people like notorious child killer Peter Woodcock and mass murderers Matt Lamb and Victor Hoffman, he also fell into the hands of someone worse: Dr. Elliot T. Barker. Over the next eight months, Barker subjected Steve and the other patients to a battery of unorthodox experiments involving LSD, scopolamine, methamphetamines, and other drugs. Steven also experienced numerous other forms of abuse and torture. Following his release, Steve continued to suffer the aftereffects of his Oak Ridge experience. For several years, he found himself in and out of prison—and back to Oak Ridge—before he was finally able to establish himself as a successful entrepreneur. Once he began investigating what happened to him during his youth, not even Steve was prepared for what he would discover about Barker, Oak Ridge, and one of the darkest periods in Canada's treatment of mental health patients. The question remains: Was Oak Ridge and Dr. Barker trying to cure psychopaths or trying to create and direct them?Read lessBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Dog Antics in a Bed and Breakfast Mitsi and Murphy, my rescue dogs with big personalities. Mitsi's "goose" moment with a guest and her sleepover with a guest's greyhound. Murphy's muddy paw prints, stolen croissants, and an embarrassing skirt-pulling incident. The accidental guest "in the lounge" misunderstanding that didn't go quite as planned. Learning Point: Running a B&B with dogs can delight animal-loving guests but requires clear boundaries and preparation to avoid mishaps. Who is Jesus? This is the most important question anyone can ask. Is He a deceiver, a lunatic, a prophet, a teacher, or the Son of God? These questions have been asked for centuries. In the Gospels, people wrestled with who Jesus was—healing the sick, calming storms, and teaching with authority. Yet, they reached different conclusions. In Luke 11, we see groups who Mistook Jesus, thinking they had Him figured out, but they were wrong. Their mistaken responses are still seen today. Let's learn from their mistakes and avoid Mistaking Jesus. Dismissing without Discernment Jesus desires, deserves, and demands our attention. Liberation without Lordship Jesus desires, deserves, and demands our surrender. Fandom without Following Jesus desires, deserves, and demands our obedience. Signs without Seeking Jesus desires, deserves, and demands our trust. Revelation without Receiving Jesus desires, deserves, and demands our welcome. Takeaway: What will you do with Jesus? C. S. Lewis in Mere Christianity: “I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

How has our patriarchal society structured your thoughts and how can you take them back? If you've always considered “reprogramming your brain” to be mystical mumbo jumbo, this guest might just change your mind. I certainly had to adjust my preconceived notions when I read Kara Loewentheil‘s new book, Take Back Your Brain: How a Sexist Society Gets in Your Head and How to Get It Out.Kara and I talk about the insidious nature of our patriarchal society and the impact of that socialization on our brains. We cover making the leap into your dream job and the balance between systemic and individual change. People are often confused by the power we have as thinkers to create our experience of reality. It does NOT mean that we can stare at a new car in a showroom and manifest it in our life; it does not mean we can wish for an outcome of a situation and make it happen. Life is happening; there is actual reality in which we live. But what WE see of it, we see from our own thinking. So in a low state of mind, we might look out at a rainy day and feel glum about having to go out in it. In a different state of mind, we might just remember to take an umbrella and feel grateful that the rain will help the flowers grow. Reality does not create what we think and feel about it; we create what we think and feel about reality.Support the show

Unfortunately, it's quite common for people to mistake gas for a heart attack, especially when experiencing chest pain. There are several reasons for this: Overlapping symptoms: Both gas and heart attacks can cause chest pain, pressure, or tightness. Additionally, gas might sometimes move upwards and create discomfort in the chest area, further blurring the lines. Individual variations: While heart attack symptoms are often portrayed as dramatic and intense, they can also sometimes be mild or atypical, adding to the confusion. Lack of awareness: Not everyone is familiar with the specific differences in symptoms between gas and heart attacks, making it harder to self-diagnose accurately. However, it's crucial to understand that mistaking gas for a heart attack can be dangerous. Here's why: Delayed medical attention: A heart attack requires immediate medical intervention. Mistaking it for gas can lead to delays in seeking help, potentially causing serious complications. Unnecessary anxiety: While gas pain can be uncomfortable, it's generally harmless. Confusing it with a heart attack can create unnecessary worry and stress. Misdiagnosis: While professionals can usually differentiate between gas and a heart attack, relying on self-diagnosis is risky. Seeking medical attention ensures a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Here are some key features to help differentiate between gas and a heart attack: Gas: Pain typically localized in the upper abdomen or left side of the chest May be accompanied by bloating, burping, or passing gas Pain improves with movement or passing gas No sweating, nausea, or radiating pain Heart attack: Pain often described as crushing, squeezing, or pressure May radiate to the jaw, neck, shoulder, or arm Accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, or lightheadedness Pain doesn't improve with movement or passing gas Remember, when in doubt, always err on the side of caution and seek medical attention immediately. Even if it turns out to be gas, getting checked offers peace of mind and ensures you receive the right treatment if needed. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/moodkillers/message

We live in a culture where masculine traits have often been deemed “toxic” and are viewed as attempting to dominate or suppress the feminine. However, when masculinity is expressed in a healthy way it is fundamental to achieving an environment where both masculine and feminine can not simply coexist, but mutually thrive. In this episode, Char, Josh, and Liv share how Josh's masculinity has created an environment within their throuple where the trio can each lean into the fullness of who they are. Grab your FREE Uncover Your God Given Purpose Guidehttp://krisreece.com/purposeYou want to live a life of purpose. You long to feel fulfilled in what you do. And of course, your ultimate desire is to hear those wonderful words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” But why is it that some Christians try everything to find their calling and still feel purposeless, while others seem to just fall into it and flourish? I've noticed patterns that cause Christians to find significance in life without selling their soul. And sadly they're the things that most Christians are doing wrong. So today, I want to share with you the 4 purpose-wreaking mistakes to avoid at all cost, and how to fix them if you are making them so you can stop fretting and start stepping into the calling God has for you. Mistake #1: Holding on Did you know that one of the most common ways to trap a monkey is to place a banana in a cage? The monkey grabs hold of that banana and won't let go, meaning he can't pull his hand out of the trap. If he would simply let go, he could easily slip his hand out and be free. That's how Christians behave when they aren't fully submitted to the Lord. Are you holding onto something that is keeping you from living your God-given purpose? Maybe it's money, fear, or prestige. Whatever it is, God is asking for it to be completely surrendered, so that He can have His way. If you find yourself fretting and frustrated, it's likely because you're holding onto something and not trusting His sovereignty. Mistake #2: Trying to be something you're notThis is one that I believe is a BIG problem in the body of Christ. And sadly I have fallen victim to it as well. In fact, I wasted 11 months of my life purpose in trying to be something that others convinced me was beneficial. My journey to purpose started with a desire to help God's people grow in faith, but I had no idea how to express it. The problem came when I tried to model myself after others. In other words, I was trying to be someone that I wasn't. I let others convince me that soft and sweet was the way to be, that taking the safe road was the way to reach more people, that I needed to be liked, and so on. I was all over the place. The truth is, I'm not really sweet, definitely not soft, I hate playing it safe, and it's way too much work to be anyone other than myself! But I thought it was a good idea to take the well meaning but dead wrong advice of others instead of consulting with my manufacturer (as in, God). All that time I spent struggling and striving to be something else when all I really needed to do was to operate in my God-given temperament and flow in my God-given gifts. I want to encourage you to stay in your lane. It will be the only way you can finish your race. Mistake #3: Mistaking career for purposeWhen I first stepped out as a Christian coach, my heart's desire was to help others discover their God-given purpose. But in session after session, I would meet with people who were bent on finding the right career choice. And because I wanted to see them happy and successful (and not frustrated with me), I ended up walking that road with them. Many of the clients I worked with did find alternative careers but it didn't mean that they were living a life of purpose. Since those initial encounters I've recognized that there really are two types of Christians: those who long to find purpose, and those who believe career equates to purpose. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with being in a career you love, but it doesn't mean you're living your life p
