Jess is well known for her many non-violent direct actions against the Dakota Access Pipeline which culminated in her sabotaging the pipeline's creation by unwelding pipes with oxy-acetylene torches and burning industrial construction equipment. She has been labeled a "domestic terrorist" by the U.S. federal government and has recently begun serving an 8-year prison sentence.
