“As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.” That is what 2 Chronicles 26:5 says about Uzziah, king of Judah in the early eighth century B.C. According to Warren D. Bullock, this verse is key to understanding Uzziah's success as a king, as well as his ultimate failure. “When [Uzziah] prayed, all went well; he had amazing success,” Bullock writes. “When he failed to seek the Lord, he acted out of pride, violated the boundaries of his calling, and was cursed with leprosy.” What lessons does Uzziah's example of both prayerfulness and prayerlessness teach spiritual leaders today? That's the question I ask Bullock in this episode of the Influence Podcast. I'm George P. Wood, executive editor of Influencemagazine and your host. Warren D. Bullock is a veteran Assemblies of God minister with six decades of experience as a pastor, superintendent of the Northwest Ministry Network, and General Council executive presbyter. He is author of Seven Life-Changing Words: The Power of Persevering Prayer, published by Trilogy. ————— This episode of the Influence Podcast is brought to you by My Healthy Church, distributors of The Holy Spirit in the Life of the Discipler. Today Dr. Don Ross, Leader of the Northwest Ministry Network, is here to officially commission Rev. Darth Creek as our new Lead Pastor, and he is also presenting a challenging message from 2 Timothy 2 entitled, “Seven Ministry Commands.”
Jesus was and is the ultimate gift of God, but even today, He is often misunderstood. In Sunday's message, Associate Network Leader with the Northwest Ministry Network, Don Detrick, ministered on Jesus as the gift of God, and how our understanding of Him allows us to represent Him well to the world around us.
Dr. Joshua Ziefle is the Dean of the College of Ministry at Northwest University and has taught numerous courses in the College of Ministry and the history department. During his time at Northwest, he has been blessed to help educate numerous young ministers and church leaders. He is also the director of the Center for Calling and Theological Formation, overseeing a yearly Youth Forum and a theology program for high school students called the Summer Journey. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and an appointed presbyter for the Northwest Ministry Network.
Wonder Church welcomes Dr. Don Ross, Network leader for the Northwest Ministry Network. In this message, Dr. Ross takes us through an expository study of the famous story of the Prodigal Son. As we dive in, we will discover that prodigal may not just be the son that leaves home, but the one who stays.
In our eighth episode, I talk with the Rev. Dr. Beth Backes, Pastoral Care and Credentials Director at the Northwest Ministry Network. At present, Beth is in the process of laying the groundwork for a new church plant in the diverse South Sound area of Seattle. Join us for our conversation as we reflect on this specific effort together with related questions about diversity and the Church. The goal of the "Christianity Now" podcast is to discuss faith, life, culture, ministry, and more as as we move towards the heart of the 21st century. Each installment features a conversation with guest(s) related to their expertise, training, experience, and/or a relevant theme. My hope is that this joint project of Northwest University's College of Ministry and Center for Calling and Theological Formation ends up being a unique opportunity for learning and spurring conversation.
One of the many gifts of the Holy Spirit is faithfulness, and we need to understand it. Join us as we dive deeper into the word of understanding the Spirit. Zack Cash is the district youth director for the Northwest Ministry Network, and a dear friend to NU.
Doing ministry for and about Jesus is the easy part. Anyone can follow and do things for a cause. When we do ministry WITH Jesus, we follow what he calls us to be. Friend of Northwest University and Northwest Ministry Network superintendent, Don Ross, gives us the word from Acts 19 on how we can do ministry WITH Jesus.

'He was as strong and focused as I have ever seen him. It was as if he was entirely above the fray,' -Televangelist Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne PRAYERS FOR TRUMP RELIGION & CULTURE ANALYST: Dr. David Cole, is a Doctor of Ministry, an American Culture enthusiast, and author of What The Church Can Learn From Harley-Davidson. Cole, is also the Associate Network Leader and Assistant Superintendent at the Northwest Ministry Network. "This is the moment evangelical leaders laid their hands on Donald Trump's back as they prayed over him in the Oval Office. Evangelical pastor Rodney Howard-Browne led a prayer circle alongside his wife Adonica in the White House and then shared the image on Facebook. President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence can be seen closing their eyes and bowing their heads in the solemn moment. The group were invited to pray with Trump during a meeting with members of The Office of Public Liaison. Others pictured included Jack Graham, the pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, and Michele Bachmann, the former Republican congresswoman from Minnesota. Mr Howard-Browne, who is from South Africa but came to America in 1987 after a 'calling from God', described the moment as 'surreal' and 'humbling'. He wrote: 'Yesterday I was asked by Pastor Paula White-Cain to pray over our 45th President - what a humbling moment standing in the Oval Office - laying hands and praying for our President - Supernatural Wisdom, Guidance and Protection - who could ever even imagine - wow - we are going to see another great spiritual awakening. Mr Howard-Browne's teachings on the concept of 'holy laughter' - an outpouring of joy caused by the Holy Spirit - helped to inspire the Toronto Blessing, which many believe to be an instance of mass blessing which took place in 1994. Johnnie Moore, a former senior vice president at Liberty University, a large evangelical university in Virginia, was also at the meeting." Pastor Dave Cole from the Northwest Ministry Network shares about the need for the church to be outward focused and loving to our neighbors.
Lawmakers shaken by this week's shooting at a GOP baseball practice say the toxic political climate needs to change. But there's little sign that it will. The calls for unity in the wake of the attack have already given way to finger pointing, with both sides blaming the other's rhetoric for exacerbating public anger at Washington. Republicans have cast blame on the left, with one senior member going to the House floor to castigate the "liberal media." Democrats say that any discussion about incivility starts with President Trump, who routinely hurled insults during the 2016 campaign and considered paying the legal fees of a supporter accused of punching a protester at a rally. Trump, for his part, received bipartisan praise for his measured statement in the hours after a gunman shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and three others in a Washington suburb. But a day later, Trump was already tweeting again about "crooked Hillaryâ?? and the email scandal that plagued her 2016 campaign. Itâ??s become a familiar pattern for lawmakers after a tragedy. After former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) was shot in the head at a constituent event in 2011, members of Congress made a show of bipartisan seating arrangements at the State of the Union a few weeks later. The political discourse has arguably worsened in the six years since.
