The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe a Mexican probe in to a Russian probe in 1995 whereby a glowing flying saucer may have visited, or even landed, in Ostankino, Moscow. We know this because there is a video but we don't have the video, but we do have stills from the video, yet we don't know how they came from the video. Could these photos indeed be depicting a UFO visit, or are they simply depicting the sun? Or is the whole thing a hoax? Or is this a military coverup? Or is this government disinformation to cover up what the military are really up to? There's a lot but also not too much to this one, ey. Just to be clear, we will be referring to some photos quite extensively throughout this probe (visual evidence, woooo) so you may want to check out our Instagram or Facebook group or at the very least, Google this event so that you can see what we are on about. More time travel. This programme starts with the news of a fire in the TV tower in Moscow, a blaze that later turned out to be very serious indeed. TV-centret Ostankino i Moskva, vars torn på 60-talet var världens högsta byggnad har efter Sovjetsväldets fall blivit en spelplan i kampen mellan privata mediebaroner och rysk statsmakt. I Peking finns den kinesiska statstelevisionens nya huvudbyggnad, ritad av Rem Koolhaas, som är tänkt som ett framtida nav för en digital teknologi som ska utmana den västliga medieindustrin. Karsten Thurfjell har mött medieforskarna Staffan Ericson och Kristina Riegert i ett samtal om TV-husens symboliska och faktiska betydelse och om ett medielandskap i förändring. Sedan möjligheten har växt att se på TV när det själv passar så är inte helgens TV- program samma självklara samtalsämne på måndagen längre.  Ja, med undantag för direktsända mediehändelser som till exempel melodifestival. När manusförfattaren och regissören Charlie Kaufman gästade Göteborgs filmfestival i veckan, så sade han att han har planer på att skriva en tv-serie. De amerikanska framgångarna med serier som Sopranos, Mad Men och The Wire har gjort att vissa börjar tala om DVD-boxarna som vår tids romaner. Kosmos Anneli Dufva har mött den danske regissören Per Fly vars TV-serie Förställningar från 2007 blev ofantligt hyllad.
