Welcome Back to Oztober! Today my friend Mark is back and we're talking about the 2013 animated film, Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return! This was kind of an interesting case because the story behind the movie ended up being more interesting than the movie itself! We're Back! (From a Hiatus) and we brought that giant yellow/orange cock and balls up there with us. We take a look at We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story and man...does it just not hold up at all. If you're foggy on it, feel free to take a look at the trailer. We're Back Youtube Trailer By the way, the music change at about 1:15 is NOT the Beetlejuice theme. Its a legally distinct original piece of music written by James Horner for this movie. Its NOT Beetlejuice....Its Not.....Its totally a rip off of Beetlejuice. We also have a return of repeat offenders/Podcast Favorites: Phil Nibblink (Romeo and Juliet: Sealed with a Kiss) and Martin Short (Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return, and Pebble and the Penguin) So yeah... its good to be back. It's the Wizard of Oz sequel you never knew you never needed with a cast you were certain you never wanted! If you thought Joan Baez would be the worst casting choice as the Cowardly Lion, you'd be wrong! Jim Belushi is. You probably got confused because of the similar initials. It's my guess that's how Jim Belushi gets all his jobs. Also in tow is Lea Michelle, Dan Aykroyd, Frasier Crane (Lets be honest he's just Frasier Crane now...), and Martin Short. Its a nightmare...but we manage to stretch that concept over an hour and 40 minutes or so. LEGENDS OF OZ TRAILER Youtube Watch it! If you dare. Direct Download

In the week that sees the release of "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return", Matthew Sweet looks back on some of the film music that has been created for the adaptations of L Frank Baum's stories of Dorothy and her friends in the land of Oz - not least the much-loved classic starring Judy Garland, in this, its 75th anniversary year. The programme also features music from The Wiz, Journey Back to Oz, Return to Oz, Oz the Great and Powerful, plus others - and part of Toby Chu's new score for "Legends of Oz". #soundofcinema.
Stephen was traveling to and from the UK this week, and thus is sick and jet-lagged. We recorded this after midnight so Pat is attempting to be quiet. That leaves Rob to be the energetic & most eloquent of the three. So we talk about the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover, new "Big Hero 6" stills, and by popular demand we talk through the story behind the financial failure of "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return."
