Valentines Day weekend so you know what movie we'll be talking about, though I struggle to find the connection between BDSM and romance....guess I'm not with it anymore, that's right ladies and gentleman it's finally time to talk about 50 Shades of Grey. After a month long break the PDC is back! This week comes hot on the heels of the 2015 Oscar nominations so we have plenty to cover as it is but you know us, gotta pack it in, so we're also going to be running down all of the movies you should know about for the next few months. Don't miss out!

Ridley Scott's biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theaters and we are here to let you know if it lives up to the history behind it. Then it's on to Benedict Cumberbatch as the man who broke the Nazi's enigma code, Alan Turing, in The Imitation Game. Don't miss it!

It's that time of year when the Washington Area Film Critics Association picks their best of the year, we'll go over the nominations before the big announcement tomorrow morning. Outside of that we'll be talking all about DC comic's newest film property, The Suicide Squad. We'll find out who they are and the amazing casting news that came down. That's not all though, there's plenty of news from the Marvel side of things as well as a review for Reese Witherspoon's new film Wild. 

This week we are running on one-track minds as we talk all things Star Wars. With the release of the teaser trailer the internet is a buzz with what to expect. We're going to break down not just the trailer but everything we know so far!

It's a one title weekend here on the Punch Drunk Podcast and what a title it is. This week we venture into the first part of what is sure to be the epic conclusion to the story of Katniss Eberdeen and the Hunger Games. Huge week in cinema this week as Christopher Nolan's latest epic film Interstellar, which is making waves in it's use of IMAX, is released. Also on the docket is Disney's Big Hero 6, the first flim by Disney to venture into their access to the Marvel brand, how I can't tell you...you have to see the movie for that!

We have some polar opposites on deck today with Brad Pitt's Fury and the animated adventure The Book of LIfe. Fury which tells the tale of a tank crew in the final days of WWII is gritty, gory, and intense. The Book of Life, is a PG animated tale...so you can see where the differences lie. On this week's show we'll be talking about Gone Girl, starring Batman as a guy who might have murdered his wife and seeks Madea as his attorney. Plus, Nicolas Cage's religious action flick Left Behind is probably going to get ripped; we'll talk about the hot documentary Nas: Time is Illmatic, and Reese Witherspoon rescues refugees in The Good Lie. Plus whatever else comes up, like TV or something.

Three days until October...can you believe that? After unexpectadley taking a month off the PDC is back with reviews of Denzel Washington's new banger The Equalizer does King Kong have anything on him this time? Next up is the stop-motion film from the makers of Paranorman and Corraline, The Boxtrolls, a highly anticipated film that's getting some serious acclaim, but is it for everyone? Closing out the day we'll be talking about the new Fall 2014 TV Season and some of the shows that have premiered. It's been a while so I'm sure you don't want to miss out on this episode!

On this week's show we'll take a look at the loooooooong-anticipated sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, plus the faith-based footbal drama When the Game Stands Tall, and Chloe Moretz's weeper If I Stay!We'll also recap last week's True Blood and look ahead to the season finale!

Rounding out with another dramatic turn for Harry Potter as Daniel Radcliffe stars in What If, and Helen Mirren in The Hundred Foot Journey.

First up we have Marvel's biggest gamble to date as Chris Pratt, a green Zoe Saldana, an alien Dave Bautista, and talking racoon and a anthropamorphic tree star in Guardians of the Galaxy. It's nerd Christmas this weekend as Comic-Con Internation is under way in San Diego, Travis is out there getting us all of the scoop as it happens, while he won't be back on with his complete run down until next week we'll make sure to catch you up on all of the big news that's come out. This week we review Hercules starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and see if it's any improvement over the Kellen Lutz starring Hercules flick from earlier this year. Then it's on to Lucy in which Scarlett Johannson learns to unlock the full potential of her brain, does Luc Besson have another classic on his hands or is this yet another misstep? It's sequel week in Hollywood as we check-in with 22 Jump Street the sequel to the surprise hit 21 Jump Street. Next up it's time to check in with Hiccup and Toothless as we talk How To Train Your Dragon 2, the sequel to the not so surprise hit of the same name. All this and all the news worth talking about! Oh...don't think we forgot Game of Thrones, with tonight's finale there's sure to be plenty to talk about regarding Westeros!

Memorial Day weekend is here! We are already well into the Summer movie season but this week brings one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer is here with X-Men: Days of Future Past! After stumbling with X3 the XMen franchise rebounded big time with X-Men: First Class, can it continue to gain steam with DoFP?Also on the slate, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's new film Blended, and Cold in July starring Micheal C. Hall. Don't miss it!

GODZILLA!!! It's finally here, the biggest (at least based on size) film of the summer has hit and we're here to tell you if the icon regains his crown as kind of the monsters or instead gets a giant dunce cap. We'll also be covering the feel good film Million Dollar Arm. In the world of TV we once again head to Westeros to talk about the landmark last episode of Game of Thrones where Tyrion sits for his "trial" for the death of King Joffery! It's going to be one for the ages so make sure not to miss it!

This week we cover one of my most highly anticipated comedies of the year, Seth Rogen and Zack Efron in Neighbors. Then it's on to something we've unfortunatley had to neglect this year while we travel to Westeros and talk some Game of Thrones. It's the calm before the storm this week on the Punch Drunk Podcast! With summer movie season mere weeks away and Captain America two weeks past we get to talk about some smaller films that can satiate your cinematic needs until Spider-Man hits, namely the romantic comedy The Other Woman starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton...oh I can't forget about Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who plays the man these three are fighting with/over. Then it's on to an American remake of an amazing french action film with Brick Mansions starring Paul Walker and Rza. 

It's Easter Sunday and instead of sending you a basket full of jelly beans and chocolates we're bringing you reviews of this weekend's releases! Transcendence, the directorial debut of Wally Phister, famed cinematographer best known for his work with Christopher Nolan, helms the tale of A.I. gone terribly wrong with Johnny Depp and Rebecca Hall. Then it's a trip to A Haunted House 2 the follow up to Marlon Wayan's suprisingly funny parody of Paranormal Activity type movies. Let's be honest though, the real focus of today's show is going to be centered in King's Landing as we attempt to make sense of the now epic 'Purple Wedding', morale of the story: Regretfully decline any wedding invites sent from the seven kingdoms. 

I honestly can't recall a show where we had three subjects on which we could devote a single show to entirely, this is that week. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Raid 2, and the premier of Game of Thrones season 4 are all on the docket...three things that the PDC are equally rabid about! I don't know how we're going to fit this into 90 minutes but we're damn sure going to try!

Some weeks we have three movies that are very similar, this is not one of those weeks. First up is the biblical epic Noah starring Russell Crowe, then onto Ahhnold's return to his wheelhouse as a door busting DEA agent in Sabotage, finally we'll be tackling  Jason Bateman's directorial debut with the hilarious Bad Words. Don't forget the season finale of The Walking Dead is tonight so we'll be sure to get you up to speed!

The day has finally come for all you die hard Veronica Mars fans! The true power of kickstarter is on full display as this crowd funded movie brings the cult hit to the big screen! Also up is Aaron Paul in his first role since the end of Breaking Bad as a street racer out for revenge in Need for Speed. 

Today is the day! The 2014 Academy Awards kick off tonight so the Punch Drunk Critics are here to give you all of the info you need to be up to speed when the awards kick off!Also this week: - Reviews of Non-Stop and Son of God 

This week on the Punch Drunk Podcast we're getting all apocalyptic as we talk about the latest entry in Hollywood disaster movies with Pompeii.  Also on the slate: - Three Days to Kill with Kevin Costner- Guardians of the Galaxy- The Walking Dead

It's remake week on the PDC Podcast with two 80s classics, one a raunchy sex and love comedy and the other a sci-fi epic about a dead cop come back to life as a law enforcing cyborg!. Of course I'm talking about Robocop starring Joel Kinneman and About Last Night starring Michael Ealy, Joy Bryant, Kevin Hart, and Regina Hall. I think you'll be pretty surprised at what we thought so make sure to tune in!

This week on the Punch Drunk Podcast we've got reviews of The LEGO Movie, Monuments Men, and Vampire Academy. Then its off to the land of TV as The Walking Dead returns this Sunday, we'll make sure to get you up to speed before the mid-season premier!!

This week we hit both sides of the comedy/drama front with the twenty-something dating comedy That Awkward Moment and then it get's real with the Josh Brolin/Kate Winslet "Stockholm Syndome" love story Labor Day. After that we'll be getting a Sundance wrap up from Travis and most certainly will be debating the big news this week that Jesse Eisenberg will be playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman. 

It's officially awards season, and you know what that means!!! We talk about the same 4 movies for the different awards they've won that all mean the same thing! Kidding, of course. But we will go into some recap of last weeks Golden Globes and the Critic's Choice Awards, of which our own Travis Hopson is a voting member. Then it's on to Ride Along, starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, which is this year's early favorite for what I think should be a new category at next year's Oscars, Best Buddy Cop Comedy. You guys are with me on that, right?Finally we'll check on the latest iteration of the US James Bond, Mr. Jack Ryan. Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, and Ben Affleck have all played Tom Clancy penultumate CIA operative...now it's Chris Pine's turn, does he have what it takes? We're winding down 2013 here at the PDC and what better way to celebrate the second to last show of the year than to talk about the worst that the theaters had to offer in 2013! If you have ever heard one of our "worst of" shows you know it's CERTAINLY not to miss. It's not all things awful though as we get to talk two major awards contenders and possibly the most anticipated comedy sequel of the year with American Hustle, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The haterade will be poured liberally so make sure to tune in and check it out!

It's that time of year! We're starting our top of the year lists here at the PDC and we begin this week with our top scenes of the year. Unfortunatley we've had to edit the content on this episode at the last minute, we were planning on covering the new releases as usual but, much to our shock and dismay, Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker was killed in a car wreck yesterday afternoon. While we will still be covering this week's releases we thought it better to remember the career of yet another actor that we've lost far too young.  Paul Walker1973-2013

The Oscar hopefuls are coming in weekly now! October brings the most exciting time of the year in film as every big movie vieing for a gold statue starts to make their case. This week we'll be talking about the big screen adaptation of the gripping true life account of a free man kidnapped into slavery with Steve McQueen's Ten Years a Slave. Slightly less Oscary but just as highly anticipated we'll also be talking about the big screen remake of Carrie with Chloe Grace Moretz. 

This week on the Punch Drunk Podcast! -Tom Hanks recreates the harrowing situation of Captain Richard Phillips and his crew when they were hijacked by Somali pirates off the coast of Africa - Machete's back....and he's one bad muth!. Danny Trejo returns as Machete in the surefire way to havve a good time, Machete Kills. The gang will let you know if he can recapture the B-movie cult classic status of the first.     

It's the first of many times in the next few months that we'll probably be using the word's "Best Movie of the Year", though I think this week is said most in earnest. Gravity the stuck in space drama featuring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock is drawing comments from "Best movie of the Year"  to "Pushing the bounds of cinema!". Then we have Justin Timberlake facting up against Ben Affleck in the off-shore gambling thriller Runner, Runner. 

'Parkland' director Peter Landesman talks about approaching the subject of JFK's assassination in a new way, and releasing the film during its 50th anniversary.
