If the energy (and results) in your business have been feeling a little or stagnant lately, this episode is for you my love. And before we go any further, I don't mean stuck because something is wrong. I mean "stuck" because YOU have grown and your business just hasn't caught up... yet. You're not falling behind. You're not getting it wrong. You haven't lost anything. You've evolved. And what you're putting out into the world stopped feeling like you somewhere along the way. The message feels off. The work feels flat. You're going through the motions and wondering why nothing is landing the way it used to. That's not a crisis. That's a sign it's time to realign. In this episode I'm walking you through what I call Signature Pillars. It's the framework I use to make sure that my message, my offers, and the work I put out is a true reflection of who I am right now. I'm sharing my own recent audit, what I found, what shifted, and exactly how you can do the same. In this episode we cover: Why feeling stuck is usually a sign of growth, not failure What Signature Pillars actually are and why they go so much deeper than a content strategy What I discovered when I audited my own pillars and what I changed The one thing most business owners are hiding that their audience actually needs to see The audit questions to sit with this week The Audit. Ask yourself: Does this still sound like me? Am I talking about things I'm genuinely excited about? Are there conversations I'm having privately that should be public? Is there a part of my life or identity I'm keeping out of my business? Those gaps are where your new pillars live. Chuck's Commentary - Why The Sun Belt Could Realign American Politics + Dems Have A Path To The Majority… If They're Willing To Take It

Chuck Todd uses the fallout from the Texas runoff to identify a much bigger pattern emerging across the Sun Belt — and argues we may be watching a generational realignment of American politics in real time. For decades, Southern states moved steadily from blue to red, with the Sun Belt providing the demographic engine of every Republican majority and Democrats traditionally finding their path to power through the upper Midwest. But Trump's GOP has now moved so far right that it's quietly opening the door for Democrats across the South — the blue shift we've seen in Georgia over the past decade is starting to happen in Texas, and the Trump brand has badly complicated things for the centrist voters who used to keep these states reliably Republican. Chuck argues that successful Southern Republican governors of the past spent enormous energy doing coalition management — keeping their activist wing at bay while delivering for swing voters — but Republicans misread their recent electoral dominance and started catering exclusively to their base instead. The data is clear: election deniers consistently lose in Georgia, and when every single issue becomes a loyalty test, you bleed exactly the kind of voters you need to actually win. But Chuck’s larger argument is that Democrats are blowing the opportunity. He argues the Democratic path back to power is genuinely simple — economic inequality and the concentration of corporate power are causing virtually all of America's ills, and there's a coherent coalition waiting to be built around those issues — but progressives behave like they've already won the intellectual argument and refuse to do the actual work of persuasion. There's no "pure" way to win, Chuck says: winning coalitions are inherently messy, both party bases want movement politics, but the actual electorate consistently rewards coalition politics. Americans increasingly dislike both parties for very different reasons — moderate voters think Democrats are weak and Republicans are too extreme — and what they're actually hungry for is a coalition that is stable and visibly capable of governing. Finally, he answers listeners' questions in the "Ask Chuck" segment. Predict the action all the way through the finals. Then, novelist Elliot Ackerman and retired Admiral James Stavridis — the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander — join the Chuck Toddcast to discuss their new novel 2084 and to deliver some deeply uncomfortable warnings about where war, technology, and great-power competition are actually headed. The duo, whose previous collaboration 2034 imagined a U.S.-China war, are quick to clarify that their work isn't predictive fiction — it's cautionary fiction, written from the conviction that major disasters almost always stem from a failure of imagination, and that the only way to prevent the worst-case scenarios is to seriously imagine them first. Ackerman and Stavridis argue that war has fundamentally changed, that superpowers are now uniquely vulnerable to asymmetric warfare, and that victors are made or unmade by their willingness to adapt to new technologies — pointing to the Ukraine war as a real-time revolution in drone combat and AI-driven battlefield decision-making. They raise the hardest moral question facing modern militaries: do you always need a human in the loop of the kill chain, and if not, who is morally responsible when something goes wrong? Different countries are answering that question in different ways, with profoundly different ethical and strategic consequences. The conversation broadens into the deeper structural concerns animating 2084. Ackerman and Stavridis warn that one of the gravest threats to the international order is the rise of corporations whose power is beginning to rival that of nation-states — and they argue the defining feature of a nation-state has always been its monopoly on violence, meaning governments will eventually be forced to ensure corporations can't apply violence at scale (a fight that has already begun in subtle ways). They flag Trump's recent summit with Xi Jinping as a massive win for China, with Xi clearly presenting himself as the senior partner while Trump walked away with very little — and the meeting was particularly catastrophic for Taiwan, whose strategic standing has now been visibly weakened. The authors discuss whether democracy will remain the defining feature of America going forward, whether the country can overcome its current internal divisions, and how human patterns of warfare repeat themselves across centuries even as the technology evolves. They make the case that the 1983 film War Games was prescient and overdue for a reboot, that military action against Cuba would be nothing like Venezuela — politically much tougher given the engaged Cuban-American community in Florida, and economically far more expensive on the reconstruction side — and that Venezuela itself has the natural resources to one day become "the Dubai of the Caribbean" if its politics ever stabilize. Their bottom-line warning is the one most worth sitting with: the war between the United States and China is the one we all hope to avoid, and the only way to make sure it never happens is to take seriously the possibility that it could. Finally, he answers listeners' questions in the "Ask Chuck" segment. Predict the action all the way through the finals. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Get your Hosea Scripture Journal now. Listen to our text today, Hosea 3:1c-d: "…even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins." — Hosea 3:1c-d One word shows up four times in this verse. Love. God's love. Hosea's love. Her lover's "love." Israel's love. Same word. Very different meanings. That's the point. Because not everything you call love… actually is. God loves Israel with covenant commitment. Faithful. Steady. Unchanging. Israel "loves" something very different. "Other gods… and raisin cakes." That sounds almost harmless—until you understand what it represents. But these weren't just snacks. They were tied to pagan worship. Sensual rituals. Fertility practices. Indulgence wrapped in religion. This was pleasure disguised as devotion. And Israel loved it. That's the contrast. God's love gives. Israel's "love" consumes. God's love is faithful. Israel's "love" is driven by appetite. And here's what Hosea exposes: You can use the same word—love—and be talking about two completely different realities. Now let's apply this to your life. You say you love God. But what do you actually pursue? What do you think about? What do you run to when you're tired? What do you protect? What do you crave? Because what you consistently move toward… That's what you love. And what you love reveals your god. If your heart is set on comfort, control, success, or approval—those things aren't just preferences. They're functioning as objects of worship. And here's the tension you have to face: You can say you love God, and still be feeding an appetite that has nothing to do with him. DO THIS: Pay attention today to what you naturally turn to for comfort or satisfaction, and honestly bring that before God. ASK THIS: What do your daily habits reveal about what you truly love? Where might appetite be replacing devotion in your life? What would it look like to realign your love toward God? PRAY THIS: Father, help me see clearly what I truly love. Realign my heart so my desires and devotion are centered on you. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Take My Life"

Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host deputy editor Amanda Borschel-Dan speaking with Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, the head of Realign for Palestine, an Atlantic Council project that challenges entrenched narratives in the Israel and Palestine discourse. This week, the Board of Peace’s top Gaza envoy, Nickolay Mladenov, is in Israel in an attempt to kick-start the Trump peace plan. He has previously urged the international community to pressure the Hamas Palestinian terror group to disarm and prevent another cycle of violence in the Gaza Strip. This week, we hear why Alkhatib believes the current stalemate in Gaza is being embraced by both Hamas and official Israel. But first, Alkhatib paints a dismal picture of life in the Strip -- rat infestations, sewage in the streets and a strong Hamas presence on the ground. We learn about the recent elections for Hamas leadership and hear background about the leading candidates. Finally, among all the darkness, Alkhatib shares pinpoints of light from among the people who are still not cowed by the terrorist regime. This is where so many of us get stuck, not because we're not capable, but because we're not working with our mind in a way that supports the results we want. In this episode, I break down a few simple but powerful “rules of the mind” that shape how we think, how we show up, and what we ultimately create in our lives. When you understand these, you can start to shift out of patterns that keep you stuck and move toward what you actually want with more clarity, intention, and confidence. You can't outrun 'em, but you can revise your interpretation and your response, and that's not for nothin'.Access today's episode on Julie's Medium Blog.Shame spirals, or negative feedback loops are chain reactions starting with: The Trigger: something spurs a sense of emotionally activation or vulnerability; perhaps through a rejection, a crossed boundary, or a mistake. The Story: immediately your brain connects the triggering event to a past experience, creating a narrative on how to perceive this “slight” that tends towards self-blame and some sort of “proof that you are not worthy or capable.”The Reaction: next, your brain will attempt to protect yourself from the pain of this internalized toxic shame by over-performing or under-performing as a way to cope, furthering you from your authentic-self. i.e. fight/flight/freeze/fawnThe Reinforcement: you feel ashamed or disconnected from your authentic-self, so the narrative of feeling insufficient is reinforced, making us more sensitive to future triggers, and the cycle continues. Ideally, we can create space to gain some control over the narrative and redirect our reactions into more thoughtful responses that reinforce new, more positive patterns. Call it out: noting a shame spiral as it starts is a great way to stop it before it begins. Practice creating space between you and the response. Sometimes, this is enough to“unhook” yourself from the trigger and create a new chain of events. Ground: use a somatic exercise to regulate your nervous system. Reframe: recognize the feelings of shame as an attempt to feel safe, so you can guide yourself into a more effective response. Rewrite the narrative to better reflect reality, which is less shame based. Connect with someone more objective who can help you see more clearly, if needed. Redirect: take an action towards a more positive and loving response, that is not rooted in shame/punishment/fear. Realign: once you feel less triggered, reflect on the experience, and practice reinforcing more conscious responses in the future. Some shame is unavoidable, and a healthy level of shame is essential to being a decent human. That said, many of us are harboring toxic levels of shame on a daily basis.Read Julie's Medium Blog.Support JULIE (and the show!)Support + get some bonus stuff over on PATREON.Get an occasional personal email from me: www.makeyourdamnbedpodcast.comTune in on INSTAGRAM AND YOUTUBE or TIKTOK.Info on War Tax Resistance.Donate to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund and the Sudan Relief FundThe opinions expressed by Julie Merica and Make Your Damn Bed Podcast are intended for entertainment purposes only. IntroductionThere's a phrase that can land in very different ways depending on who's saying it and what they mean: we belong to the Lord. For some, that sounds like a threat. They hear a domineering God waiting to shame or diminish his people. Unfortunately, they are not hearing anything positive when we say, ‘We belong to the Lord!”For others, it sounds like drudgery. It sounds like this is a life of straining to keep up with an impossible family name. This is the mindset that there is a mean God who is just waiting to shame you and destroy you. But the catechism wants us to hear something radically different. We don't merely belong to Christ the way a servant belongs to a difficult master. We are called to take hold of Christ, to possess him by faith. We know that in doing so, we are possessed by him. He keeps us not out of contempt or to harm us. No, we belong to our savior, so we can enjoy our God. We are brought to a place of wholeness and restoration rather than tyranny because Christ paid the impossible debt. The question that presses on every believer, then, is deeply personal: how do I know that this Christ, the one who redeems and mediates on my behalf, is my Christ? Why Only Faith? We might wonder why faith is so significant. Paul reminds us about the significance of believing in Christ. Paul's logic in Romans 10 is simple and urgent: no one will call on Christ if they do not believe; no one will believe if they have not heard; and no one will hear without someone sent to proclaim. Hearing the gospel is not a passive experience. In the Hebrew sense Paul has in mind, to hear is to respond. The hearing echoes the Shema of Israel (Dt. 6:4). When the gospel goes out, it is the voice of the Good Shepherd calling his sheep. And the sheep hear him. His sheep turn to him. His sheep rest in him and conform to him. This is why the preaching of the Gospel is not incidental to Christian life but central to it. Faith is not conjured up by the sheer force of our sincerity. It comes through the word of Christ, proclaimed and received. We are not the originators of our own faith, but we are the grateful recipients of God's gift of faith. It is by faith that we receive Christ. It is in faith that we take hold of Christ and all his distinct blessings. We walk in faith, by the Spirit's power, and we begin to conform to our Lord. What is Faith? The catechism's definition of faith in Question and Answer 21 teaches us that when we have faith, we have assurance of salvation. True faith, it says, is not mere intellectual knowledge. It is a sure knowledge. It is a deep, experiential knowing, in the Hebrew sense, not just a cognitive filing away of correct doctrine. Faith is also a hearty trust that the promises of the gospel are our promises. If we believe the Gospel, then we say Amen to the Lord's promises. As we say AMEN, we will order our lives in light of Christ's promises. Think of Abraham in Genesis 15. When God promises him protection, legacy, and redemption, Abraham says, "Amen.” That amen is not just an agreement that the proposition is logically sound, but it is bowing the knee. It is a life reoriented to our Lord. It is saying, You are my God, and I will walk in the confidence that you are.And here the catechism offers something that should quiet our anxious hearts: assurance is of the essence of faith. This does not mean we will never doubt. It means that faith takes hold of Christ. To take hold of Christ by faith is to take hold of all his benefits: forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life. The Holy Spirit is not working a tentative, hedged hope in us. The Spirit is working in us the conviction that the Savior proclaimed in the Gospel is my Savior. The Spirit is giving us the strength and the power to persevere. As we have faith, we have the person of Christ. What is Faith's Content? One of the more startling phrases in Romans 10 is Paul's reference to those who have not obeyed the gospel. We don't naturally speak of obeying the gospel or good news. But this language recovers something essential. The gospel is not merely information to be catalogued. It is a claim that demands a response. It is the same kind of response Abraham gave when he left Ur, when he climbed Moriah, when Hebrews 11 says he expected God to raise the dead. This is not a back door into works-righteousness. Obedience here is not the ground of our standing before God or the power of our faith. It is the shape of a life that has genuinely said amen to the promises of Christ. The person who says, "I believe the gospel, but it doesn't need to change anything about how I live," should ask whether they have truly possessed Christ at all. When we believe we are saying Amen to God's promises. We are trusting ourselves to his protection, his resurrection power, and ultimately the passage into heaven. This is a life-changing truth that is worked in us by the Holy Spirit. True faith puts on the yoke of Christ. And Christ's yoke, he tells us, is easy. He is not a master who demeans. He is not a lord who requires the impossible. He is the one who bore the burden so we might carry it with him, and in him find rest. Abraham struggled, but the trajectory is keeping his eyes on his savior as he walked by Faith. ConclusionIf you find yourself asking, Is this Christ really my Christ? Think about what you are asking. That question itself is a grace. An unbeliever does not lie awake wondering whether Christ is their Christ. The very ache of that question points toward faith already at work in you. Dark season? Struggling? Cling to your Lord, believe the resurrection life is in you, and walk forward in the confidence of Christ. So the catechism's pastoral word is simply this: proceed. Realign. Come back to the promises. You are not merely one of God's employees, quietly tolerated. You are not a servant kept in an inferior place. You are a redeemed saint, purchased not to be shamed but to be made whole. See that you are the person you were created to be to dwell in the glorious fellowship of God. Do not turn away from Christ, but turn to him as you hear his voice through the Gospel call.

Brian Dixon — most folks call him Dixon — is a Colorado-based Adventurer, Author, and Speaker, and a recovering midlife man-zombie. For twenty years, he lived misaligned — playing the superhero for everyone but himself. In 2014, a life-threatening mountain bike crash ended years of quiet drift. Alignment took longer — until he made a decision most men his age would never consider. At fifty, he chased down a dream from his youth. He found a mentor, committed to years of training, and flew a paraglider solo off Colorado's Lookout Mountain. It might sound like a midlife cliché. It wasn't—it was clarifying. That flight reset his True North. Everything he teaches fits into a simple mantra: Wake up. Realign. Move forward. Today, he helps men break free from misalignment — so they can Wake Up. Realign. Move Forward. In episode 653 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out how a driven, high-functioning guy ends up asleep at the wheel, what happened with his pulmonary embolism after the mountain bike crash, why he launched a paraglider solo off Lookout Mountain, why men drift after college and how to avoid it, what does misalignment look like in your twenties, how you lead others without losing yourself, what does "True North" actually mean for a 21-year-old, how to distinguish between destructive risk and growth-producing risk, what is the moment men give up but never talk about, and what daily habits keep a man awake instead of drifting. In this episode of the Happy Hustle Podcast, I dive into three of the ten alignments from our S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N system — the framework I use to systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. Those three are: Loving Relationships Mindful Spirituality Abundance Financially These are just 3 out of the 10 alignments, but they are powerful ones. When even one of these is out of whack, you can feel it. When all three are aligned, life hits different. Let's start with loving relationships. You can build an incredible business, but if your marriage is strained, your kids feel distant, or your friendships are surface-level, it will eventually catch up with you. Relationships are not a bonus category. They are foundational. I share the L.O.V.E.R. framework to help navigate adversity in relationships: Listen. Observe. Voice. Empathize. Repair. Most people skip listening and jump straight to defending. But communication isn't just about words. It's tone. Body language. Energy. Presence. If you want a ten in your relationship, you've got to be a ten. Then we move into mindful spirituality. This isn't about religion or rigid rules. It's about connection to something bigger than your to-do list, your ego, or your quarterly targets. When you feel spiritually disconnected, everything feels heavier. You operate from stress, urgency, and control. But when you intentionally create stillness, you regain perspective. I use the reminder C.I.T.S. — Chill In The Still. Sit down. Get quiet. Reflect. Pray. Meditate. Breathe. Even a few intentional minutes of stillness per day can shift your nervous system and your clarity. Stillness builds inner strength. Gratitude. Confidence. When you are spiritually grounded, you don't chase, you align. Now let's talk about abundance financially. Abundance isn't just about making more money. It's about how you make it and who you become in the process. Over the years, I've used a simple framework called R.O.A.D.M.A.P. to generate millions in revenue, often in 45-minute Zoom calls. Not because I'm special, but because the system is aligned. R.O.A.D.M.A.P. stands for: Rapport Obstacle Aspiration Demonstration Match Ask Pull First, build rapport. Real connection. Trust. Then understand the obstacle. What problem are they trying to solve? Next, aspiration. What outcome do they truly want? Then demonstrate. Show proof. Testimonials. Real results. Match is critical. It has to be a fit both ways. I've worked with misaligned clients before and the money is never worth the stress. Then ask clearly. And finally, pull, not push. Ethical urgency. Honest scarcity. Invitation instead of pressure. Money should not cost you your peace. It should amplify your impact. It should allow you to provide, give, invest, and grow without sacrificing your integrity. Money magnifies who you already are. If you're grounded in strong relationships and spiritual alignment, money expands that. If you're disconnected, it amplifies that too. At the end of the day, fulfillment isn't built in one big achievement. It's built in daily alignment. How you love your people. How you connect to something greater than yourself. How you steward and multiply your resources with integrity. These three alignments are just part of the ten. But if you dial them in, everything else starts to rise with them. Pause. Reflect. Realign. That's how you systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. That's how you truly put the HAPPY in your HUSTLE. Connect with Cary! In Class With Carr 304, with Dr. Greg Carr and Karen Hunter, opens the new year by naming our unavoidable choices in a moment of U.S. imperial desperation. The session centers our obligation to renew commitment to collective study as an act of courage and discipline, as U.S. bombs fall in Venezuela and Nigeria and a fear-driven minority attempts to sabotage people-centered local and national power. We reflect on the historic swearing-in of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, signaling shifting possibilities in the U.S. social structure, while recalling fellow New Yorker John Henrik Clarke's call to situate our efforts to transform society within the latitude and longitude of our long memory. We close by naming the work ahead: deeper study pathways, shared learning experiences, living archives, and collective frameworks to continue to enhance the momentum of memory, raise standards, and move knowledge into coordinated action. Are you a member of Knarrative?
