Welcome to Top of the Morning by Mint.. I'm Nelson John and here are today's top stories. 1. TCS Cuts Jobs to “Realign the Future” India's largest IT firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is laying off 12,261 employees—roughly 2% of its global workforce—in FY26. The move, largely targeting mid-to-senior management, is part of TCS's shift toward becoming a “Future-Ready”, AI-driven organisation. Despite a fresh 5,000 hires in Q1, the company's attrition ticked up to 13.8%, prompting tighter policies on bench strength and billing mandates. CFO Samir Seksaria's earlier assurance of wage hikes is now shadowed by cost cuts. CEO K. Krithivasan remains cautious, citing macro headwinds and a low likelihood of double-digit growth. TCS joins Microsoft and other tech majors who are navigating the AI disruption with painful workforce realignments. 2. Trump's EU Tariff Countdown Just days before an August 1 tariff deadline, Donald Trump is pushing hard for a new US-EU trade deal, demanding “fairness” on cars and agriculture. Meeting European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland, Trump said there's a “good chance” of a breakthrough, while von der Leyen pegged the odds at 50-50. If talks collapse, EU exports could face up to 30% tariffs on top of existing duties. With $1.9 trillion in annual trade on the line, this is a critical test for transatlantic ties—and a volatile moment for global markets. 3. Rudra & Bhairav: India's New Strike Force In a bold military reorganisation, the Indian Army has launched ‘Rudra' all-arms brigades and ‘Bhairav' light commando battalions to enhance border readiness against China and Pakistan. Unveiled on Kargil Vijay Diwas, these new formations blend infantry, tanks, artillery, UAVs, and special forces into agile, tech-powered units. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said this realignment—without adding new troops—will “multiply operational capabilities manifold.” Over 250 brigades will be converted into all-arms formations, marking a major pivot toward future-ready warfare. 4. Coforge Rises to #7 in Indian IT Coforge, formerly NIIT Technologies, has overtaken Mphasis to become India's seventh-largest IT services provider. Clocking $442 million in revenue for the June quarter, Coforge is riding high on a $1.56 billion deal with Sabre and its acquisition of Cigniti Technologies. With operating margins flat at 13.1% and negative free cash flow, challenges remain—but analysts expect Coforge to hit a $2 billion run-rate by June 2026, potentially cracking the top 6 alongside Tech Mahindra and LTIMindtree. CEO Sudhir Singh is confident: “H2 should also be robust.” The mid-cap IT race is heating up, even as the top four remain unchanged. 5. UK Faces Vote on Palestinian Statehood Following France's bold UN pledge to recognise Palestine, Britain is now under pressure to act. The Scottish National Party (SNP) has vowed to introduce a Palestine Recognition Bill when Parliament resumes in September. Leader Stephen Flynn says if PM Keir Starmer stalls, the SNP will force a full parliamentary vote. Over 220 MPs, including many from Labour, back recognition, citing the escalating crisis in Gaza. While Starmer, Italy, and Germany prefer a peace-first approach, critics warn that waiting might mean never acting at all. With 142 nations already recognising Palestine, the UK's next move will be closely watched. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this episode, we explore what it means to truly know where you're headed—and why you're heading there. From career shifts to personal crossroads, many of us operate on autopilot, doing what's needed instead of asking what we truly want. Join us for an honest conversation about finding your personal vision and purpose, the tools that help (like Remember the Future and Ikigai), and why taking time to reflect may be the most powerful move you make.
In this episode, I had the joy of connecting with Josh, a long-time listener who first discovered my work at the age of 15. Now 24, he's running his own business, working for a startup, and navigating what it means to live with purpose and alignment. Josh came into the live stream with a deep and powerful question: How do I stay focused on long-term goals without getting stuck in the wrong short-term commitments? His honesty sparked a rich conversation about clarity, discernment, and the rhythm of fresh starts. Together, we explored how “being stuck” is often the result of asking ourselves the wrong questions. Questions rooted in guilt, fear, or the illusion that there's only one right path. I offered a framework that invites continual reflection and conscious recommitment. Whether once a year, once a month, or every single day, we always have the freedom to pause, evaluate, and begin again. This conversation reminded me just how powerful a clear vision can be, not as a rigid plan, but as a North Star we realign with through every season, project, and decision. Josh's story is a beautiful example of growth, faith, and intentional living. If you've ever questioned whether your current commitments are still aligned with your values, or wondered how to avoid feeling “stuck,” I believe this episode will offer something valuable for your journey.

In this episode, Molly dives deep into a topic that's both emotionally resonant and neurologically relevant: what's really going on when we feel like we “just don't care anymore” about our drinking habits or goals. This isn't about laziness or lack of willpower—it's often a sign of emotional burnout, a condition that physically alters our brain and chips away at our motivation and executive function.Molly explores how summer routines, vacations, and social gatherings can disrupt our usual anchors and lead to identity drift, making it harder to stay committed to alcohol-related goals. She breaks down the neuroscience of burnout, clarifies common misconceptions about decision fatigue, and introduces default reward thinking as a key player in why we revert to old habits.Key Topics Discussed:The true meaning behind the phrase “I just don't care anymore”The neuroscience of emotional burnout and its effect on decision-makingWhat recent studies really say about decision fatigueWhy summer can be a sneaky trigger for identity driftHow to reconnect with your identity as an alcohol minimalistFive Strategies to Reignite Motivation and Realign with Your Goals:Track Your Patterns – Pay attention to emotional and behavioral cues that precede drinking.Tweak Your Environment – Anticipate high-risk moments and set up better decision conditions.Create Identity Anchors – Align your choices with the kind of person you want to become.Practice Mindful Decision-Making – Make key decisions in advance and reinforce them.Take Micro Breaks – Restore your emotional energy to avoid burnout-induced apathy.Molly's Takeaway:Feeling like you don't care anymore doesn't mean you're broken. It means your brain is overloaded and you need to reconnect with your intrinsic identity. Motivation doesn't come from white-knuckling your way through—it comes from alignment, awareness, and intentional identity shifts.Low risk drinking guidelines from the NIAAA:Healthy men under 65:No more than 4 drinks in one day and no more than 14 drinks per week.Healthy women (all ages) and healthy men 65 and older:No more than 3 drinks in one day and no more than 7 drinks per week. One drink is defined as 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine, or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor. So remember that a mixed drink or full glass of wine are probably more than one drink.Abstinence from alcoholAbstinence from alcohol is the best choice for people who take medication(s) that interact with alcohol, have health conditions that could be exacerbated by alcohol (e.g. liver disease), are pregnant or may become pregnant or have had a problem with alcohol or another substance in the past.Benefits of “low-risk” drinkingFollowing these guidelines reduces the risk of health problems such as cancer, liver disease, reduced immunity, ulcers, sleep problems, complications of existing conditions, and more. It also reduces the risk of depression, social problems, and difficulties at school or work. ★ Support this podcast ★

On Sunday, July 13th, Saturn begins its retrograde in Pisces, initiating a four-month cycle of profound introspection and necessary change. In this episode of the Quietmind Astrology Podcast, I talk about what this means for you—not just in theory, but in the very real choices you're making every day. This is the kind of transit that pulls your attention to what really matters: your energy, your responsibilities, your boundaries, and the structures that either support or sabotage your growth.Saturn is the furthest planet we can see with the naked eye, and it's always been symbolic of the outer limits—what we can hold, what we can commit to. It's the energy of the ring, the container, the sacred ‘yes.' Pisces, on the other hand, has no container. It's boundless, formless, deeply spiritual and often confusing. So what happens when these two meet? What happens when Saturn goes retrograde in this ocean of potential? We start to re-evaluate everything. This is a time to review, revise, and realign with your vision. We're talking about a collective and personal upgrade—but you can't skip steps. You have to go back over old lessons and outdated roles. As I said in the episode, “You may be needing to revisit some old lessons. You may need to replay them so you can spiral up and out of them.”Five key ideas I shared in this episode:— “We're starting a new four-month chapter about maturing.”— “Saturn in Pisces asks us to break through perceived ceilings and restructure how we live and work.”— “This is a time to revisit your daily foundations: sleep, movement, food, water, nature.”— “Confusion isn't a problem—it just means the path hasn't become clear yet.”— “Synchronicities are a signal: if the path feels uphill, maybe it's not your path.”This cycle (from July 13 to November 28) moves through Uttara Bhadrapada and Purva Bhadrapada, both symbolized by the funeral cot. It's time to release what's dead and done. This is about necessary endings—not out of punishment, but to create space for something new and more aligned.Jupiter in Gemini during this time adds mental stimulation and opportunity, but also overwhelm and confusion. I talk about how this can show up as overthinking, overdoing, and burnout—classic signs of Vata imbalance. And I give practical ways to balance it, like eating grounding foods, limiting inputs, and spending more time in nature. In this episode, I guide you through:— How to assess your current structures and commitments— Why your foundational habits matter more than ever— What kind of resistance and fear might show up (and how to move through it)— How to align with divine timing and synchronicities— Why being confused is actually part of the path to clarityAs I said, “Clarity often starts with a date in the future.” From there, you can work backward to build the structure that supports your vision. Whether you're a go-with-the-flow Pisces type or a Virgo like me who loves structure, this episode will help you find your path within the chaos. You'll also hear why kundalini energy and the serpent of the depths are powerful guides right now. Saturn in this part of the sky wants us to be stealthy, patient, and precise with our energy. This retrograde isn't about rushing. It's about realignment. If this episode resonates, please leave a review, share it with a friend, and check out the links below to go deeper with me.⸻Free Weekly Horoscopes & Exclusive offers: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/fr...Free Vedic Birth Chart & Training: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/fr...Instagram: / quietmindastrology Decode Your Birth Chart: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/1011:1 Reading: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/re...Mentorship: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/me...Quietmind Yoga: https://www.quietmind.yoga

This week on the Balanced Warrior Podcast, Coach Paul shares insights on maintaining business stamina and momentum, especially during traditional slower months like July and August. He emphasizes the importance of a "halftime" assessment to evaluate progress and strategize for the remainder of the year. Coach Paul challenges the common belief that summer is a time to slow down, encouraging you the high achiever to reframe your mindset and attack the third quarter with the same energy as January. Paul's Key Points for High-Achievers Recharge, Reset, Realign, Rally: Coach Paul advocates for taking time to recharge but stresses that it should be followed by a strategic reset, realignment of goals, and a renewed rally into action. Halftime Report: Use mid-year (like the start of Q3) as an opportunity for a "halftime" assessment. Evaluate what's working well, celebrate victories, and identify areas needing improvement or adjustment. Challenging the Summer Slowdown Mindset: Coach Paul debunks the myth that July and August are inherently unproductive months for business. He encourages listeners to reframe their perspective and treat July as a "new January" with renewed enthusiasm and activity. Sustaining Activity in Q3: Instead of shutting down, focus on consistent activity such as networking, connecting with centers of influence, and servicing existing clients to build momentum for Q4. Avoiding the Year-End Scramble: By maintaining consistent effort through Q3, businesses can avoid the frantic, "survival mode" rush often seen in Q4, allowing for a stronger finish to the year and a more relaxed December. Consistency is Key: Just like in fitness, business success requires consistent habits and a commitment to higher standards, rather than sporadic bursts of effort followed by periods of inactivity.

Have you ever believed something about someone that just wasn't true? It colored your whole view of that person, didn't it? The same goes for our image of God. All of us have some image of God that just isn't true. And it colors our entire relationship with him. It even shapes how we view ourselves. Today, Matthew shows us why we all assume things about God, how we can realign our image of him with the truth, and set ourselves free.
In this episode, we dive headfirst into one of the most important (but often overlooked) ingredients of growth: taking action. From gut-level realignment to stepping out of your comfort zone, we unpack what it looks like to stop thinking and start moving. Whether it's your health, your relationships, your work, or the dreams you've kept on the shelf for too long, this conversation challenges you to stop waiting until you “feel ready” and take the first step, because clarity, confidence, and momentum are all built through action. We're not talking theory here. We're talking about real, gritty decisions that move you forward. So hit play, lean in, and more than anything—do something with what we're sharing in today's episode. Action creates alignment. When life feels off, whether it's your work, relationships, or personal goals, it's often a sign you're out of alignment. The fix? Take intentional action to realign with your values and purpose. Comfort is the enemy of growth.Staying “comfortably uncomfortable” keeps you stuck. Growth only happens when you're willing to step into discomfort, embrace the unknown, and move anyway. Fear and overthinking kill momentum.Fear doesn't stop you, your response to fear does. Overthinking, waiting for confidence, and playing out worst-case scenarios keep you paralyzed. Confidence comes after the action, not before it. Your energy is an investment. Spend it wisely.Hustling at work while neglecting your marriage, kids, or personal health is a misalignment. Redirect your action toward what matters most, not just what screams the loudest. Goals change… just don't stop moving. It's okay to rewrite your goals midyear. What's not okay is giving up on them. Realign, refocus, and take the next step. The second half of the year is yours to own—if you take action. One TruthClarity, confidence, and growth don't come from thinking… they come from doing.

While last year's US presidential election didn't lack for historical quirks – an incumbent president dropping out of the race soon before his party's convention; for only the second time, a former president returned to office – opinions differ as to the campaign's long-term effect on America's political landscape. In a special edition of Matters of Policy & Politics hosted by Hoover distinguished policy fellow Bill Whalen, we hear from a bipartisan slate of leading pollsters on the state of America's two political parties. They provide perspectives on the 2024 election, including assessments of what did and did not work in terms of messaging, how voting blocs shifted, whether Democrats can rebrand and rebound by 2028 or anti-woke Republicans once again will prevail, plus the chances of Trump-style politics outlasting its term-limited namesake. This episode is in partnership with the Center for Revitalizing American Institutions (RAI).

Having It ALL: Conversations about living an Abundant Loving Life
Ever feel like you're doing all the right things but still not getting what you want? That's where the Be-Do-Have paradigm comes in. Most people have it backwards. They think once they have the success, time, love, or clarity—they'll do the right things and finally be who they want to be. But that's not how it works. If you want lasting results, alignment, and peace that doesn't crack under pressure—you've got to flip the script. In this episode, I break down the Be-Do-Have framework through a powerful lens—drawing from the book Beyond Body Beyond Mind by Dr. Sukhi Muker. I walk you through how to live it out, how to spot where you're off, and how to train the habit of BEing in real-time—especially when life feels chaotic. This isn't theory. It's the difference between temporary change and transformation that sticks. Let's get into it. STRUGGLING WITH CONSISTENCY? Having It ALL: Conversations about living an Abundant Loving Life
Are you really living... or just reacting? In this episode, I'm handing you a tool for deep, no-BS introspection: the 5 W's of Radical Self Awareness. This isn't some surface-level journaling prompt. This is a mirror. A spotlight. A call-out and a call-forward—all in one. You'll explore: Who is influencing your thoughts, energy, and identity What you're truly committed to (and what you say you're committed to) When you tend to abandon yourself Where your environments are either draining or fueling you Why you haven't leapt yet—even though you know it's time This episode was sparked by an email from a listener, Benjamin Foley. We connected over our shared approach to fear—leaning into it. Not running from it. Benjamin's article, “Advice On Anxiety No One Tells You”, lit a fire under me, and now I'm passing that torch to you. You don't need another checklist. You need a pattern interrupt. You need to sit with these questions like your life depends on it—because in a way, it does. Radical self awareness is the first step to radical self leadership. And the only person who can give you that… is you. STRUGGLING WITH CONSISTENCY? Download the free "trust account" app from the YourDay Balance Game, and start building trust with YOURSELF today!
