(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and me Muslims killed 20 Christians in Congo Islamic militants killed over 20 people in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo last month. The Muslims killed a church elder and a worship leader in the village of Mangina. A local pastor told Open Doors, “Fear is increasing. Brothers and sisters, please intercede for the safety of the rural commune of Mangina and for the strengthening of the faith of Christians.” Such attacks are common in the country as Islamic extremists try to eradicate the presence of Christians.  According to Open Doors, Congo, Africa is the 29th worst country worldwide for the persecution of Christians. 70,000 Muslim migrants stormed Ceuta, Spain Over 70,000 migrants stormed the Spanish North African enclave city of Ceuta. Most were young men from the Muslim-majority country of Morocco.  The Spanish city of Ceuta borders Morocco and is home to just over 80,000 people. Spain deployed its military in response to the surge of migrants, sending most of them back as of yesterday.  Dozens reportedly died in the crossing. A local pastor told Evangelical Focus, “Pray for our city, for the authorities, and for all the staff working on the front line. … We hope that the Lord will allow us to be a beacon of hope and support for our city.” In Matthew 5:16, Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Todd Blanche nomination for Attorney General heads to Senate floor On August 3rd, the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the nomination of Todd Blanche as U.S. Attorney General after he struck a deal with two GOP holdouts, reports The Epoch Times. Republican Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina and John Cornyn of Texas had opposed Blanche because of concerns over a settlement that the Department of Justice negotiated with President Donald Trump in his suit against the IRS. On August 2, Blanche said that he formally terminated a nearly $1.8 billion fund that would have given payments to victims of government weaponization. Tillis and Cornyn subsequently issued a statement on August 3 pledging their support. The Senate Committee voted 12–10, along party lines, to advance Blanche's nomination. It now heads to the Senate floor for a final confirmation vote, where he can afford to lose only two Republican votes, assuming all Democrats will be opposed and GOP Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky will be absent due to illness. Contact your two U.S. Senators by email and phone -- whatever their party affiliation might be -- and urge them to vote for Todd Blanche as U.S. Attorney General.  Do not assume that every Republican Senator will vote for him. And do not assume that every Democrat Senator will vote against him. Just speak your mind and leave the results ion God's hands. Georgia must reinstate Christian education program In the United States, a district court ruled that a Georgia school district must reinstate a Christian education program. Sweet Onion Christian Learning Center provided free, off-campus religious instruction for students at Vidalia High School. However, school officials canceled the program after its leader criticized a proposed tax increase on his Facebook page.  With the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, the learning center challenged this in court and won.  Planned Parenthood has closed 57 abortion mills since 2025 Planned Parenthood is closing three of its facilities in Michigan. The abortion giant is facing $5.6 million in losses in the state.   The One Big Beautiful Bill Act temporarily defunded Planned Parenthood last year. The funding pause expired last month. However, it did cause many locations to shut down.    The American Life League reports that Planned Parenthood has closed 57 locations since January 2025. U.S. economic growth slowed in second quarter U.S. economic growth slowed during the second quarter of this year. The Gross Domestic Product increased at an annual rate of 1.5 percent. That's down from 2.1 percent during the first quarter. The slower growth was due in part to a decrease in government spending.  In-N-Out Burger President urges those in Idaho to turn to God The owner of In-N-Out Burger spoke out after a tragic shooting at one of the company's locations.  The shooting happened at a newly opened In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho on Saturday. Three people died, including an In-N-Out associate.  Lynsi Snyder is the owner and president of In-N-Out Burger. She wrote, “In-N-Out will be mourning with the families and praying for them as they tread through a very painful season. I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough, and my heart also goes out to all of the Associates and Customers who were there during this traumatic event. I love you all, and I ask you to turn to God, not in anger, but seeking comfort and strength for those who are hurting.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Williams kids in Wasilla, Alaska give $73.45 which parents match On July 31st, Iris Williams in Wasilla, Alaska wrote me and said, “Adam, we have listened as the Lord has opened hearts and provided financial support to The Worldview in 5 Minutes!  This has been an exciting month as my husband Thomas, me, and our 8 children -- Toby, Aubri, Trygg, Trevor, Tyndale, Taleb, Kimber and Torben -- have listened each morning after breakfast as part of our Bible time. Christians have held worship services at St. Peter's Evangelical Church in Tehran for 150 years. Authorities have now seized the property and banned church gatherings there. They also ordered 28 families living on the church compound to leave. Iran has been seizing Protestant church properties for years. Mansour Khajehpour previously served as an elder at St. Peter's Church. He told Christianity Today that the church in Iran grows despite persecution. He said, “This is the dynamic reality of the church. The church will not die. The church will grow, and we are a part of that church.” In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” United States launched strikes on Iran last night Speaking of Iran, the United States began launching strikes on Iran at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29th, according to the U.S. Central Command. The U.S. attacks were “a powerful response to [Tuesday's] attempted Iranian attacks on U.S. forces based in the Middle East.” The attacks by Iran on U.S. forces did not get past U.S. defenses. And The Western Journal reports that foreign governments are taking part in the fighting now, where they hadn't before. For the first time, the Saudi Arabian military joined with the U.S. in striking Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, reports the Associated Press. Retired Navy Vice Adm. Robert Harward, a retired SEAL and former deputy CENTCOM commander, said, “You see the Lebanese government making an agreement with Israel to undermine and try to get rid of Hezbollah.” He added, “You're seeing the pressure build on Iran on all fronts.” Ukrainian refugees have planted 160 churches across Europe Millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes since Russia invaded the country in 2022. Despite this, these refugees have planted churches across Europe.  European Christian Mission International reports displaced Ukrainians have started 160 churches in Europe in the last four years.   A report from the organization stated, “Increasingly, Ukrainian believers are refusing to see themselves only as refugees. Instead, many are embracing a different calling - missionaries sent by God into the nations of Europe.” Canadian labor board ruled in favor of COVID-shot rejecter LifeSiteNews reports that a Canadian labor board ruled in favor of a Christian man who objected to the COVID-shot mandate. The Canadian Revenue Agency suspended Steven Porter without pay after denying his religious exemption. The agency must now pay $5,000 in damages to Porter.  He wrote in his exemption request, “Christ is my supreme King and Lord and I am subject to His final authority alone in all matters of life, faith and conscience.” In Acts 5:29, the apostles said, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Senator questions CDC's billion-dollar COVID-shot contract to Pfizer The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention awarded $1.24 billion in COVID-shot contracts to Pfizer last month. Republican Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin questioned this decision in a letter to Secretary of Health & Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.  Johnson wrote, “The CDC's reported awarding of approximately $1.24 billion in new contracts to Pfizer for a vaccine linked to serious adverse events—including potentially the deaths of children—suggests [that the] CDC continues to fail to take its vaccine safety responsibilities seriously.” Pro-lifer Paul Vaughn got settlement over wrongful arrest Praise God! A pro-life, Christian father reached a $1 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice. The case involved his wrongful arrest under the Biden administration, reports Highlight Truth Ministries. Federal agents raided the Tennessee home of Paul Vaughn in 2022 and arrested him for his pro-life activism.  My family and I had the honor of meeting Paul Vaughn several years ago. He's an amazing Christian patriot. Steve Crampton, Senior Counsel at the Thomas More Society, said, “This settlement is not just about one family. It is a warning and a precedent. The weaponization of federal law enforcement against pro-lifers, against people of faith, against those who dare to stand for the unborn—that era is over.” Treasury has saved $99 million from going to dead recipients The U.S. Department of the Treasury implemented a new payment verification process.  The safeguard has already kept about $99 million from being sent to deceased individuals.  Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, “Treasury has delivered on a key promise of President Trump's mandate to stop improper payments and fraud before money leaves the Treasury, and strengthen the integrity of the federal payment system.” 70th anniversary of America's “In God We Trust” motto Today is the 70th anniversary of when “In God We Trust” became America's motto. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the law on July 30, 1956. The resolution also required the motto to appear on all U.S. currency.   Democratic Representative Charles Bennett of Florida introduced the resolution. He said, “Nothing can be more certain than that our country was founded in a spiritual atmosphere and with a firm trust in God. ... What should shape the education of our children: Greek philosophy or biblical discipleship? In this episode, Scott Brown welcomes Kevin Swanson of Generations for a candid discussion on the foundations, goals, and methods of Christian education. The biblical model — as described in Deuteronomy 6 and the Proverbs — is family-centered, character-focused, life-integrated, and rooted in the fear of the Lord. Whereas the Greek model — central to many classical education programs — is rooted in the pride of man, emphasizing the “greet books” penned by such pagans as Aristotle and Homer. Their conclusion: we must bow the knee to God's word, not the “wisdom” of pagans, in how we teach our children.
