I Play for Paris Pt.3   Twisted Original Club, Progressive and Trance anthems and a couple of Rock ones!   Fittingly starting with “Sympathy for the Devil”, diving straight into Progressive sexy house with a hint of Club House before a Progressive – Trance House climax.  First time I get people to actually dance to my beloved Faithless, must have been the time when everything clicked and kicked in.   One month ago some nihilistic losers butchered 130 women and men in Paris…   Forget about the social media meltdown, France is my country and Paris my city. Whereas France is actually far from being the model country it aspires to be, by attacking “her” for being the “capital of prostitution and obscenity”, those bastards just proved that somehow those symbols of secularism and freedom are still alive and worth celebrating.   Forward to a few days ago… I was unable to mix anything, which wasn’t dark and filled with anger for a month until we decided to have an impromptu party. The core nexus of friends who could make it facing Xtian who was wondering what would spark his muse and how he could get out of his negative loop and make himself and his friends happy.   I played a 4 hour set, took about 20 minutes to get into it but once I found the right format for this forum it flowed. Got out of my spleen and played fun eclectic jams, old and new edits of tunes everyone knew but cuts they had not heard before. Whereas my usual format is to play current paid releases in whatever genre takes my fancy, I went into a “Richard Vasquez/Doctor Love” mode and played for me and for my friends.   Four hours later, they were asking for more and pushing me to go harder and louder. Take that nihilistic butchers, this is our answer to your dead-end philosophy.   Set is cut into 3 parts, slightly edited of what did not quite work live but true to the spirit of the night.     Part 3 is simply the culmination of all that. From first seeing him play in Monastery when I was a a young spring chicken back in 1999, he was one of the inspirations which made me want to become a DJ. David A. Giraldo born in Bogota , Colombia. Raised in Bogota till the age of 7 where he was relocated to Miami. For the first time Gtronic had witness the sounds of Electronic Music being inspired by some of Tiesto's Greatest Hits , David Instantly fell in love with electronic music. David Gtronic Having absolutely no musical background didn't hesitate from pursuing his dream. He began very young with a passion to mix tracks together. He then developed using a variety of software enhancing his knowledge for electronic music. Around the age of 14 he introduced himself as a DJ Named Gtronic to the Miami nightlife by playing in several events held in some of Miami's top venues such as Club Space, Nocturnal, Metropolis, The Pawnshop, etc. Over the years he took his career one step further and began producing remixes and bootleg mixes and had the exclusive release on beatport and itunes of his original track “funky drums”. Funky Drums was then remixed by some of Miami's most recognize producers such as Cato K , Christian Falero , QBA of Parantula. In 2009 David Gtronic has released over 17 tracks in beatport (Including His Big Hit “Mind Control”) The Terrace Podcast Edition is Hosted by David Gtronic of DUO-TECH which is one of Miami's Most listen Itunes Podcast With an average of 200 subscribers daily. Happy Halloween everyone! Thought I would use this time to make a more seasonally dark mix, as it gives me an excuse to use some songs that may not normally make it onto my mixes. I never know what makes me like some dark songs... sometimes all it takes is a rightly timed woodblock or mystery tambourine. Lol. Although I do like a lot of darker, more electronic music, it is sometimes a lot more difficult to mix them together smoothly. In addition, I find that a lot electronic music tends to drone, so I needed to chop a lot of songs up. Do to all this, I actually had to spend quite a bit more time on this mix than most. I did manage to squeeze in one semi-discoey-house song on here, but it is called Piano In The Dark (a cover of an 80's song), so I would say it is still on topic. You can chalk it up to my queen-out moment for the mix and I got it out of the way at the beginning. You didn't think I could get away with not having one, did you? :-) A few songs do standout to me on here. Bleeding Love is of course not a new song, but I just ran across this mashup of it and Thriller a few weeks ago and Trypsin was kinda enough to share it. And what kind of spooky mix would it be without Thriller? I just thought it was kinda a fun mashup and loves me some Leona. I will tell you that Funkerman feat. Shermanology - Automatic is one of those simple songs that just really grabbed me a first listen. I'm not really sure why, but I think it has got to be the vocals. I almost wish there was an extended mix with more. The true standout here, though, is Plumb - Hang On (Dave Audé Extended Mix). Oh my gosh. This song gave me goose bumps the first few seconds I heard it. The lyrics are very touching and uplifting. Tiffany's vocals are pleading and gorgeous, with a very Imogen quality. Dave's mix is just perfect -- great breakdown/bridge and subtle builds. The whole production is just beautiful. I can't say enough good things about it.
