You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around 1 Corinthians 15:58 and Galatians 6:9. Living fully and dying empty isn't about grand gestures or momentous achievements. It is about making steady progress each day on the things that truly matter. It is recognizing that you have a unique contribution to make to the world - one that only you can fulfill. Your days are numbered, and with each passing moment, you have an opportunity to plant seeds for tomorrow in the soil of today's decisions. Jason Miller - We're spending a few weeks recapturing the power of an ancient Christian calling, exploring hospitality as the act that creates the conditions for someone else's experience of belonging. In our final week, we're learning to see hospitality as an act of faithful resistance against whole systems that war against the safety and belonging of people. To view the lyrics of the song North by Sleeping At Last, head to our website. Ways to Get Connected We will be having a Sabbath Sunday on July 7th and, while we won't have in-person gatherings or a podcast on the 8th, we hope you will join us in entering into seasons of rest. Patrick grapples with a listener's poignant inquiry about the potential salvation of non-Catholics, candidly addressing the complexities of faith outside the visible Catholic Church and the Church's stance on inclusivity in salvation. Doug - I am a retired truck driver and never had a problem getting to Mass. Normally you don't need to drive on the weekend and you can find local Church's. Buying a folding bicycle is good too. Rebecca - Why is 2nd grade the appropriate age to receive communion in the Catholic Church? (06:35) Diana - Because of my schedule, I often go to other parishes in other diocese. Since I am not very wealthy, I just give money to the Church I go to. Is that okay? Agnes - After Jesus rose from the dead, where was he when he was not with the Apostles? (14:31) Email – Can I take a gluten-free host? (19:37) Joshua – Is it a sin to make the Sabbath Sunday? (22:11) Julia - How can I tell my daughter that the Catholic Church is better than any other religion? She is 19 and doesn't want to go to any of the services? Jade - Why do they say that Jesus gave authority to the Catholic Church since St. Peter died before the Catholic Church existed.
We hope you are enjoying some rest and relaxation with God and your loved ones this week! This is the time of year where we get the chance to reflect on the past and look towards the future. We've had a lot to celebrate, but we believe we are only getting started and have learned a lot of lessons along the way. As we reflect, we've prepared a video devotional in which some of our staff took some time to look back on this past year, including some of the things we are looking forward to in the new year.

Sabbath at its core is an act of faith as we surrender everything to look at Jesus. Pastor Zack Curry invites us into rhythms of rest and trust.
In the “grind culture” that is so prevalent among us, finding a balance of work and rest seems almost impossible to embody. This Sunday, we encourage you to listen to the podcast for a “re-launch” of a sermon on the spiritual practice of Sabbath (Rest) and to consider how you may embody the prompts to create a Sabbath rhythm in your weekly schedule. May we embrace God's good gift of rest and replenishment that will sustain us, individually and communally. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wellingtonheightschurch/support
