A recent case filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) reveals how an insider was able to detect fraud in a large managed care organization (MCO).Although the topic of medical loss ratio (MLR) might be arcane to some, when the subject involves millions of dollars of potential fraud, it quickly becomes a large blip on the government's fraud detection radar.More on this topic will be reported during the next live edition of Monitor Mondays. That's when whistleblower attorney Max Voldman returns to the long-running Internet broadcast to report on how a payer, Inland Empire Health Plan, miscalculated its MLR in a scheme to rebate less money to the government than to which it was legally obligated. The weekly broadcast will also include these instantly recognizable features:• Monday Rounds: Ronald Hirsch, MD, vice president of R1 RCM, will be making his Monday Rounds.• The RAC Report: Healthcare attorney Knicole Emanuel, partner at the law firm of Nelson Mullins, will report the latest news about auditors.• Risky Business: Healthcare attorney David Glaser, shareholder in the law offices of Fredrikson & Byron, will join the broadcast with his trademark segment.• Legislative Update: Cate Brantley, senior legislative affairs analyst for Zelis, will report on the news happening at the intersection of healthcare and congressional action.

Whether you are cycling and have symptoms or are on HRT and having issues, the ratio of these two hormones can be a real indicator of issues like low progesterone, estrogen dominance or estrogen metabolism issues. You can calculate this ratio from values on your serum testing or urine testing such as the DUTCH test. I talk about what this ratio should be, how to calculate it (units matter!), what you can glean from various types of testing (i.e. urine shows you something different than serum, both matter) and what to consider to feel better if your P:E2 ratio is off in this episode. Leaders often assume transformation comes from learning new skills or following the latest management trend. But real change begins when we confront our own beliefs, reflect deeply, and choose to step out of victimhood into agency. That inner work is what lays the foundation for lasting growth in how we lead and live. Only then can leaders create change that resonates far beyond the workplace. In this episode of the Happiness Squad Podcast, Ashish Kothari and Shawn Quinn talk about the deep reflection leaders need to build their own reality and move from victimhood to agency in life and leadership.Shawn Quinn is the Managing Partner of Lift Consulting and Faculty Director of the Positive Leadership program at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. A leading voice in positive leadership and organizational transformation, he has advised global companies including GE, Coca-Cola, American Express, and the U.S. Army. Shawn is also co-author of Leading Innovation: How to Jumpstart Your Organization's Growth Engine.Shawn and Ashish explored how transformation doesn't come from another training, another framework, or another leadership fad. It happens when we pause, reflect, and face the beliefs that hold us back.Things you will also learn in this episode:• Breaking free from a victim mindset• Why belief shifts matter more than skills in true transformation• The power of small experiments, reflection, and awareness to spark change• How leaders at any level—not just executives—can create meaningful impact• How workplace behaviors ripple outward into family, children, and community• The challenge of systems and people resisting changeTune in now and see for yourself how this shift unlocks the kind of transformation no trend or tactic can deliver.✅Resources:• Related episode: (Robert Quinn) https://player.captivate.fm/episode/1b7c5df6-06e1-4929-83d3-5849caa6b9b5 • Strengthsfinder by Gallup: https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/254033/strengthsfinder.aspx • A Fundamental State of Leadership Approach: https://scholar.valpo.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1444&context=jvbl • Charles Snyder's Hope Theory: https://www.mindtools.com/aov3izj/snyders-hope-theory • The Sunflower Model: https://player.captivate.fm/episode/ee784c9c-cf26-48df-b07f-b4c0dcc638f3 • The Sunflower Model: https://happinesssquad.com/the-sunflower-model-career-transition-guide-with-ashish-kothari/ • The Power of the 5:1 Ratio: https://michiganvirtual.org/blog/the-power-of-the-51-ratio-in-the-classroom-how-fostering-positive-interactions-can-transform-student-learning/ • Martin Seligman's Learned Helplessness:

It appears that John Franklin-Myers and Evan Engram will play on Sunday at Indianapolis after practicing fully yesterday. Broncos are -1.5 point favorites and the Over/Under is set at 43.5. Gold keeps soaring and not because of inflation. We know this without any doubt because as copper prices remain stuck, rising bullion against it has crashed the copper-to-gold ratio down to RECORD LOWS. That isn't about expectations for a crash, instead the market is expressing rising probabilities as to the future. One in which the latest data from FRBNY on job finding expectations fits only too well. Derek Moore and Shane Skinner talk about the rally in gold no one seems to care about and the gold oil ratio. Then, they go through the indicators used to determine recessions and note they don't seem that bad, although nonfarm payrolls did disappoint. But private sector jobs are growing while the government jobs are falling, so are fed cuts greenlit? Later, looking at S&P 500 net income margin percentage average per decade. Yup, they've been rising each decade. Finally, looking at forward PE ratios against forward EPS and how some stocks like Broadcom got cheaper after last earnings. All this and much more! • Guest Name: Veronique de Rugy • Affiliation: Mercatus Center • Summary: Veronique de Rugy strongly critiques the proposal for a US sovereign wealth fund, arguing it's a poor idea given the US's high debt-to-GDP ratio and existing budget deficits. She contends that borrowing to invest would be fiscally unsound and would lead to "cronyism on steroids," as government investment decisions are driven by political priorities rather than viable market opportunities, unlike private sector investments. 1910 JUNEAU ALASKA

David McAlvany examines the metals markets, calling them a “core allocation, not a trade.” He compares holding the metals themselves with investing in mining companies. He thinks gold is in a “big, bullish trend” as central banks move away from the dollar and into gold – investing “double” what they did in 2022 in the yellow metal. David looks at the gold/silver ratio, calling silver an “amplifier” and describing its usual relationship to gold. He thinks they can end the year at $4,000 for gold and $50 for silver.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. This professional was obviously the chief writer of many year-end fundraising appeal. To the drafter of many appeals. We still hear you. There are days when we too want to throw up our hands and ask why. Why did they only donate used clothing as this donor did? Or the sailboat that is not water worthy? Do they not know that generosity should not cost the nonprofit? And, yet, in the midst of the weird moments of fundraising, we also see the sacrificial donors who wish to join us in the work of our missions and wish that they could give more. This work has entered the public domain. What do you think? Lower mortgage rates and income growth have helped improve housing affordability. Cotality NZ's new report finds the national value-to-income ratio reached its lowest point since mid-2019 in the June quarter, at 7.5%. National property values also remain almost 17% below their post-covid peak. Cotality Chief Property Economist Kelvin Davidson told Mike Hosking mortgage serviceability has seen a significant change, compared to its 2022 high of 57%. He says it now takes around 44% of the median household income, so it's getting close to normal. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Against Empathy, How Pleasure Works и най-новата му – Psych: The Story of the Human Mind, в която разглежда човешкото поведение в цялата му противоречивост. Разговорът е неформален, но засяга теми като утилитаризма, културните препратки в True Detective, както и странните навици, които ни правят хора. Видео към епизода тук: https://youtu.be/OA9qhpIYnUc #english In the new episode of Ratio Talks, our guest is Paul Bloom – psychologist, bestselling author, and participant in this year's Ratio Forum Spring. Bloom teaches at both Yale and the University of Toronto. His research explores why we sometimes seek out discomfort, what draws us to mischief, and why breaking norms can feel so rewarding. His books include Against Empathy, How Pleasure Works, and his latest, Psych: The Story of the Human Mind. In this episode, we talk about utilitarianism, the cultural layers of True Detective, and the quirks that make us human – all in a slightly informal but highly engaging conversation.
In this solo episode, I delve deep into a topic that could revolutionise your understanding of cardiovascular health. The focus shifts from the conventional marker, LDL cholesterol, to a more predictive measure that has been right under our noses. Prepare to have your mind blown as I unpack decades of research, dismantles myths, and unveil practical steps for a healthier life. What You'll Learn: The Real Marker of Risk: Discover a much stronger predictor of cardiovascular and metabolic disease risk than LDL cholesterol. Challenging Norms: Understand why relying solely on LDL cholesterol is like flipping a coin when assessing heart disease risk. A Game-Changer: Learn about the Framingham study's revelation that this measure is 3 to 5 times more predictive of heart attack risk. Impacts Beyond Heart Health: Find out how this ratio also predicts risk for metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes. Practical Steps: Explore dietary and lifestyle changes that can improve your key ratio, enhancing overall metabolic health. Key Takeaways: The triglyceride to HDL ratio offers a more accurate risk assessment than focusing solely on LDL cholesterol. Maximising heart and metabolic health involves more than just medication; lifestyle changes play a crucial role. Understanding your body's response to carbohydrates is key to optimising your lipid profile. The medical community's focus on LDL cholesterol is outdated—empower yourself with current research to guide your health decisions. Simple changes such as low-carb diets, exercise, and intermittent fasting can significantly impact your health outcomes.
