Și am vorbit despre filosofie și rolul ei în lumea noastră complicată, despre importanța și puterea pe care le-ar putea avea dialogul pentru o societate care se îndepărtează tot mai mult de dialog, despre căutarea împreună a adevărului, așa, ca în dialogurile lui Platon. Invitatul nostru a fost Cătălin Partenie, profesor de filosofie la Facultatea de Științe Politice a Școlii Naționale de Studii Politice și Administrative din București, autor al volumelor „Androginul. Despre suflet și cetate ” (Ed. TREI) și „Atlantida și copiii lui Platon ” (Ed. Ratio et Revelatio).Trăim într-o lume super tehnologizată, iar tehnologia pare că ne oferă răspunsuri la orice întrebare. Avem la dispoziție mai mult ca oricînd, mai repede ca oricînd, informație, analiză, sinteză. Așa că o să vă întreb, pînă la urmă, la ce mai folosește astăzi filosofia?Cătălin Partenie: „Cred că depinde ce filozofi întrebăm, din prezent sau din trecut. Eu am încercat să îl întreb pe Platon și am încercat să-mi imaginez ce ne-ar răspunde el astăzi. Așa că eu aș fi ca un fel de mesager acum. Dacă l-am întreba pe Platon la ce mai este bună filozofia astăzi, cred că el ne-ar spune, în primul rînd, că filozofia înseamnă să încerci să înțelegi ce este lumea și omul, dar să încerci să înțelegi lumea și omul cu puterile tale. Nu trebuie să te bazezi pe altceva, trebuie pur și simplu să încerci singur să înțelegi. Dar aici vreau să mai adaug ceva, că pentru el filozofia nu exista, de fapt, în solitudine. El a scris dialoguri și în dialogurile lui, care sînt ca niște piese de teatru, mai multe personaje discută împreună. E o încercare în comun de a înțelege lumea și omul.”Cărțile dumneavoastră despre Platon se adresează unui public care nu este neapărat familiarizat cu filozofia și sînt scrise cu talent de povestitor – și asta nu este o întîmplare, fiindcă sînteți și prozator. Dar ce presupune să scrii despre Platon astăzi pentru un public neinițiat? Cătălin Partenie: „Chiar asta a făcut și Platon. Dialogurile lui nu sînt niște tratate scrise pentru filozofi. Unele dialoguri sînt mai dense și poate mai greu de urmărit, dar ele conțin o deschidere. În Republica, de exemplu, personajul principal e Socrate și el vorbește. Dar nici unul din cei cu care vorbește nu este filozof. Republica, într-un fel, este un dialog între un filozof, Socrate, și mai mulți care nu sunt filozofi. Iar la Platon există această deschidere în filozofie.
