In Week 2 of our Advent series, Promised One, Pastor Dave Mudd explores the profound truth of Jesus as the final and perfect Prophet. While the prophets of old brought messages from God, Jesus came as the message of God—revealing the Father's heart in a way no one else could. This message dives deep into Hebrews 1 and Deuteronomy 18 to show that Jesus doesn't just give us information; He gives us revelation. By looking at Him, we not only discover who God is, but we also uncover the restored purpose for our own humanity. Join us as we learn what it means to build our identity on His truth and let His voice guide our every decision this Christmas season.Note: This video also includes an important "Family Update" on the future expansion of our church home and the Hope Center.Key Takeaways:- Jesus is the Final Word: Unlike previous prophets who spoke in fragments, Jesus is the complete and perfect expression of God's voice (Hebrews 1:1-2).- Revealing God's Heart: Jesus goes beyond delivering rules; He reveals God's character—compassion, forgiveness, and holiness—in human form.- Restoring Human Purpose: By revealing the Father, Jesus restores the original design of humanity: to know God, reflect His image, and partner in His mission.- Living the Mission: We are called to be more than hearers of the word; we are empowered by the Spirit to embody the message and live as witnesses in our community.- Vision for the Future: An exciting look at how our church family is expanding our facilities to "build bigger tables" for those seeking Jesus.Scripture References: Hebrews 1:1-2, Deuteronomy 18:15-19, John 1:18

Là-bas, Le Nouvel Obs a rencontré Ali.

Some holidays feel bright on the outside and heavy on the inside. We sit down with Liz Gaught from the Center for Children and Families to show what hope looks like when it's built on everyday actions: a single recorded interview that spares a child from retelling trauma, a counselor stepping into a living room to spot strengths and needs, a wish list that becomes new clothes and a toy to open on Christmas morning.Starting with CASA and growing across 48 parishes in Louisiana and seven counties in Mississippi, the Center pairs advocacy, education, and prevention with direct services that meet families where they are. Liz walks us through the Children's Advocacy Center approach, why prevention trainings matter, and how the new Hope Center in West Monroe adds counseling and medication management for kids who need both therapy and clinical care. The thread running through it all is trust: families see the same team before and after the holidays, and donors know gifts reach specific children already in services. We also talk about the Christmas Project—how it began with 50 soccer balls and now mobilizes businesses, churches, and neighbors to adopt wish lists, host collection sites, and fund essentials you won't find under a tree. One powerful example: a partner donation purchased six mattresses for siblings who had been sleeping on air beds and the floor. That's what local support can do when relationships are in place and needs are verified.Behind these programs is a culture that protects the protectors. Liz shares how leadership builds a workplace where heavy stories meet real recovery—puzzles on the table, shared meals, short walks, and benefits that help teams stay grounded. We close with a reminder that the tunnel isn't the end; there is light, and community keeps it burning. If you're ready to help or need help, visit standforhope.org. Episode SummaryIn this poignant episode of Journey of Hope, host Elio Constantine welcomes Milad, lead pastor at Hope Evangelical Church in Southern Lebanon and field manager for Heaert For Lebanon's Ministry Center. They delve into the lives of two often-overlooked and marginalized groups in Lebanon: the Bedouins and the Gypsies (Dom and Raja).Milad, who has worked with these communities for years, sheds light on their distinct cultures, histories, and the severe challenges they face, including deep-seated societal discrimination, poverty, and lack of access to essential services like education and healthcare. The conversation highlights the heartbreaking realities these communities endure, such as forced temporary housing, children leaving school early, and limited employment opportunities.Despite the immense difficulties, Heart For Lebanon is actively working to bring hope and transformation. Milad shares how the organization offers educational opportunities through their Hope Center, provides mobile learning experiences with the "Hope on Wheels" truck, distributes essential relief packages, and conducts awareness workshops on legal rights, health, and dignity.A powerful testament to their work is the story of Hassan, a Dom community member who, despite lacking official documents and facing severe discrimination, found employment, education, and spiritual transformation through Heart For Lebanon, eventually getting baptized and becoming a beloved staff member. The episode underscores Heart For Lebanon's commitment to making disciples and extending Christ's love to all, regardless of societal standing, and invites listeners to support their mission through prayer and investment.Show NotesUnderstanding the BedouinsIdentity: Nomadic, desert-dwelling Arab groups known for loyalty, welcoming guests, and oral storytelling traditions.Origin & Lifestyle: Historically from the Arabian Peninsula and Syrian Desert, they followed cattle for grazing.
