Do you know what the three most heard words in the English language are? Not the three most spoken words but rather the three most heard words. In this stand-alone message, Executive Pastor Dana Aaronson tells us that he thinks they are, "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.” We might admit that we often reach a point of saturation when people are trying to communicate to us. There's this auto response sometimes due to familiarity or unrelatability that triggers an “ear filter” that turns everything we hear into "BLAH BLAH BLAH." But today we are talking about three different words, words you might have heard before in other sermons. But if we can hear them fresh and speak them to ourselves often they could be difference makers in our lives! These three words are CONFESS, FORGIVE, and CELEBRATE. Watch and see what a difference they could make in your life!To access the resources Dana mentions click here:LIST OF SINS OF COMMISSION AND OMISSION STEPS IN FORGIVENESS Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=S120y91zge5-Day Devotional: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/tag/blah-blah-blahDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Blah-Blah-Blah-SGQ.pdfFind us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Jesus is coming back for His bride—the Church. In this powerful message, "Save the Date", Pastor Jeff Maness unpacks what Jesus is preparing for us in the new Heaven and new Earth. Sometimes it feels like the end of the world and Jesus' return may never come, and sometimes it feels like it could be today or tomorrow – and if the Lord does return tomorrow, praise God – Come, Lord Jesus! But either way, because He will return, the way we live because of it should change today. So how should we live while we wait for Christ's return? Jesus told us to be always ready for His return. In the last message, "It's The End of the World as We Know It", we saw how Jesus said, “I've told you everything ahead of time.” Everything we need to know, He has told us to prepare us. So – it's not our responsibility to know all the details about the end and His return, but it is our responsibility to be ready for it. The end of the world is coming, but there's no need to panic. Jesus may not give us all the details about the end and His return that we desire – but He does give us everything we need to know. If you have kids or you've ever been a kid, you know what it's like during a long car ride, the constant questions, "Are we there yet?" "How much longer?" "Why is it taking so long?" That's pretty much the same question followers of Jesus have been asking since He rose from the dead and promised that He would one day return to make every wrong right, and to rule and reign on a new and perfected Heaven on Earth for all eternity. For generations, humanity has wrestled with the questions: Is this the end? And what will happen at the end? When is Jesus coming back? In our series Battle Ready, we've talked about each part of the armor of God. We learned we have to put on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes — we must put on peace, which comes from the Good News. We take up the shield of faith by which we quench the fiery arrows of the enemy. Lastly, we put on salvation as a helmet. When we are fully dressed in our defensive armor we take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. But is it the last piece we need for battle? Watch this message to find out about "The Forgotten Weapon" as Pastor Jeff Maness teaches us how can we build a consistent practice of prayer.Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=ryFv5f8RJx5-Day Devotional: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/tag/battle-ready-the-forgotten-weaponDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Battle-Ready-6.pdf________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!

Have you ever thought about how many safety precautions we take so that we are prepared to deal with dangers that may never happen? For example, we have airbags, seatbelts, smoke detectors, security systems, emergency contacts, and insurance policies that we will hopefully never need. We have them because we know it's better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. But how much time and energy do we put into preparing ourselves for spiritual dangers that are 100% guaranteed to happen? It's not, “They might happen, so I should think about being ready.” They are going to happen and might be happening right now. So the question is — are you ready? This message by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers will help you get ready.Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=r1mw7aSpkg5-Day Devotional: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/tag/battle-ready-shield-of-peaceDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Battle-Ready-4.pdf________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Peace is something everyone wants, but true peace is not something we can earn. It's not something you can attain after many years of hard work. True peace isn't found in a peace treaty between nations. It's not found when you get the house you always wanted, or you have the money you need to retire, or your kids are perfect. Those things might bring a measure of happiness or a temporary feeling of relief, but they are not a true picture of peace. It's not the type of peace that has eternal value. Instead, genuine, lasting, joy-filled peace only starts when we have peace with God. Watch this message by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers to see how to on put on the "Shoes of Peace" to have the true peace of God in your life.Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=S1wHUjwcJl5-Day Devotional: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/tag/battle-ready-shoes-of-peace Discussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Battle-Ready-3.pdf ________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Whether we're aware of it or not, we are creating an environment for ourselves in the way we live our lives. And the kind of environment we create for ourselves, for our marriages, for families, and for our relationship with Jesus, matter because we are at war. In this message, Director of Student Ministry Justin Ruszkiewicz highlights the profound impact of living with integrity and aligning our choices with God's Word, urging us to assess, obey, and endure in the face of challenges. The concept of dating only began in the early 1900s. But as author Jonathan Pokluda said in his book, Outdated: “Just because modern dating wasn't really around when the Bible was written doesn't mean the Bible doesn't have anything relevant to say about the subject.” And if you are not in that part of life where you are interested in dating, this message can still apply to you if you are:A parent raising kids who will experience dating.A friend or family of a single person that may need wise counsel, accountability, and prayer to navigate dating.A single person pursuing God's gift of marriage who will likely experience dating. So, this message may apply to all of us in some way. Genesis 1:28a says, "Then God blessed them and said, 'Be fruitful and multiply.'" Now God could have thought up a million different ways to procreate—but He blessed us with the gift of sex, a gift designed not only to reproduce, but to bring pleasure. And these are pretty much the only two things we ever think about when it comes to sex, making babies and feeling good. But there is a far greater purpose to sex than just those two things. God did not create sex just for pleasure and procreation; He created it for another specific purpose. Movies, TV shows, and books on romance all seem to teach that "chemistry" is one of the key factors that lead toward success in a relationship. It's how you know you've found “the one", right? Chemistry is a powerful thing. It can make a relationship feel right—and when a relationship feels right—we often believe it is right. And it might be—but chemistry is not the litmus test to determine that. If God calls you to the incredibly difficult gift of marriage—passion and chemistry are great things to have. But it's not enough. The reality is—chemistry might help spark a relationship—but it will never be powerful enough to sustain it. Chemistry—without commitment—will only lead to confusion and conflict. Cultivating oneness has nothing to do with chemistry, and everything to do with commitment. Watch this message by Senior Pastor Jeff Maness to find out what commitments help cultivate oneness in marriage.*NEW* 5-Day Devotional: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/2025/02/10/the-commitment-to-onenessMessage Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=Syx_MnZKkxDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Exposed-5.pdf_____________________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
The teaching of Jesus on marriage in Matthew 19 was so clear, so controversial, and so countercultural—His standard for marriage was so high—that even His own disciples, upon hearing Jesus' teaching and expectations on marriage responded, “If this is the case, it is better not to marry!” (Matthew 19:10) In this message, we address one of the most sensitive subjects in the Church—marriage, divorce, and remarriage. But Jesus wasn't focused on the problem of divorce—He was focused on the power that's available in marriage. A perfect marriage will never exist—but praise God, one full of power does.Blog Post: https://www.theharbor.life/blog/2025/02/02/the-power-of-marriage-more-than-we-imaginedMessage Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=ryAhPhYd1eDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/Exposed-4.pdf_____________________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
The primary purpose of marriage—according to God through the Apostle Paul—is not to solve our loneliness. It's not to fulfill some romantic need or desire. It's not to complete me, and it's not to “find the one". None of those things are bad. Marriage can provide companionship. There is and can definitely be romance and sexual fulfillment. But while those things might be by-products of a good and healthy marriage, they all fall woefully short of fulfilling the purpose of marriage. The practice of marriage without pursuing the purpose of marriage will always feel incomplete. Trust. It's such a simple word yet carries profound weight. Who do you trust completely? Maybe you struggle to answer that question, especially if life has taught you that trust can be broken by those closest to you—friends, family, colleagues, or even yourself. But what about God? If He asked, “Do you trust me?” how would you respond? The truth is, trust in God can feel challenging, even for those of us who already believe. We may trust Him with our eternal souls yet hesitate to trust Him with our earthly circumstances. If you've ever felt this tension, know you're not alone. The message of Good News the angels brought the shepherds was that a new King had arrived—and who had He arrived for? Luke 2:10 says it is for ALL people! It's a message, screaming from the manger, that Christ came into the world not to be served, but to serve others—all others. This message of Good News had no limits. It was a message of service to everyone. Christ came to serve you and to serve me. At Christmas we celebrate that our omnipresent God entered into space and time as a baby. The Creator – who spoke the world into existence with the breath of His mouth – becomes part of His own creation. The all-powerful, sovereign, and in-control God becomes a helpless child with no control or ability at all, completely dependent on beings He created. Talk about submission! The message of the manger is a message of submission. But Christlike submission is not a sign of weakness; it is a show of strength. Christlike submission is a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden, all of which takes great strength. This Message From The Manger is a message of sovereignty. Sovereignty means supreme power or authority. In theological terms, it refers to God's absolute authority and control over all creation. God is never out of control, lacking control, or needing to take control. At all times – and through all things – God has ultimate power and authority over everything that happens. God is in control! In the series Reframing Rest, we've learned that the Sabbath is a rhythm, rooted in creation. A reminder of how God rescued us from our slavery to sin, and a gift that God gives us every single week to enjoy for our good.We learned that we stop on the Sabbath to reveal our trust in God, refuel us for the work of God, and refocus us on what we have in God. That He is enough, and I don't have to spin my life in circles for God to keep the world spinning and in control. Throughout this series, we've talked about the benefits and difficulties of observing a weekly Sabbath. We've talked about things we should do on that day and things we should stop for that day. And we've gone over what Scripture has to say about it. This fourth message is a two-part panel discussion with people in different stages of life taking questions from the audience on how they Sabbath. In these two videos, there are questions about Sabbathing in different living situations, like when you have small children and when your spouse doesn't Sabbath with you. The panelists also talk about things like: Can you watch sports on the Sabbath? Can you go to a restaurant? Do you cook on the Sabbath? What about naps? Can you partake in hobbies you enjoy? This is part two, recorded at the 11:00 AM service. After you listen to this, if you haven't already, you can click the link below to listen to part one of "This Is How We Do It - A Sabbath Panel Discussion" which was recorded at the 9:00 AM service. Sabbath is not an obligation—it is an invitation. An opportunity to receive a gift from God every single week. Yes, it is in the law of God as the fourth of the Ten Commandments, but Sabbath is not just law—it is life. It is a blessing, not a burden. So how do we do this Sabbath practice? There is no formula to make the Sabbath work for you, but there is a framework that leads to success. While there is an abundance of historical, psychological, physical, and even scientific and medical evidence of the benefits of taking one day off each week to completely rest, the vast majority of people—especially in our modern Western world—fight against this rhythm that God rooted into creation. We're like three-year-olds fighting a nap—knowing we're exhausted but refusing to accept God's pathway to rest. Maybe one of the biggest reasons we fight against it—especially as followers of Jesus—is that we don't truly understand the "why" behind Sabbath rest. And that's what we will reframe in this message, week two of our series, Reframing Rest.Click here for Jeff's Message Notes.Click here for Small Group Discussion Questions.________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
60% of U.S. adults say they feel more tired now than they've ever been. --- OnePoll Research Firm58% of people said that feeling tired keeps them from enjoying life, and 33% of people "always" or "often" still feel tired even after a good night's sleep. --- Talker Research FirmWhy is this happening? Why do we wear busyness as a badge of honor - yet constantly talk about how much we need a break - and how tired we are – even though it's keeping us from enjoying life? And when we do get a break - a vacation, an extended weekend, or just a good night's sleep – we're not receiving the rest we truly need to be filled back up. We're not living in the rhythm of rest that God intended.Could it be that we need to reframe rest? That maybe there is a rest God wants us to have and to live in that we are missing out on in our busy, hurried, fast-paced, and tired lives? In this message, Pastor Jeff Maness explains that the Sabbath is more than a specific day you must observe, it is a way of life you get to practice, a gift from God.Click here for Jeff's Message Notes.Click here for Small Group Discussion Questions.________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Love First - Followers of Jesus should be characterized by genuine love and deep commitment to one another and our neighbor, which flows from our whole love of God.Jesus led the way in showing us how to live with love first. We are Managers, Not Owners - Followers of Jesus should be effective and efficient managers of all God gives them, understanding that He owns it all.Jesus used money to help convey spiritual principles many times, allowing us to learn financial lessons while also learning deeper spiritual truths. Health Requires Hard Work - Followers of Jesus must work hard to carefully nurture their own spiritual, emotional, relational, physical, and financial health as we continually grow in likeness to Christ.Good works in every area of life are part of God's plan for our lives to become more like Jesus, not so we can earn our salvation but as a result of our salvation. Uncompromising Relevance - To honor God and inspire people, the Church should pursue excellence and be culturally relevant while remaining biblically faithful and doctrinally pure.In order to connect with people and share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ, we must meet them right where they are with uncompromising relevance and excellence. Serving Matters - Followers of Jesus should serve in areas that use their God-given gifts to strengthen and build up the Church and others. To follow Christ is to live a life of serving, because serving matters. Serving is not something you sign up to do once in a while; it's a lifestyle. How do I live a serving matters life? I must be willing to pour, be waiting for provision, and be watching for purpose. Bold Faith - Healthy followers of Jesus boldly live out their faith with passion and conviction, marked by grace and truth. We have read stories in the Bible about the early Christians living out their faith in Christ, even when they were threatened with death if they didn't stop talking about Jesus. We've seen video about modern day Christians in other areas of the world who are beaten and killed for their faith. But it's one thing to see others have bold faith, it is quite another to live it out yourself. In this message Senior Pastor Jeff Maness asks, "What does it take to have bold faith?"Click here for Jeff's Message Notes.Click here for Small Group Discussion Questions. To see the full list of The Harbor's Core Values, please click here.________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Core Value #2 - Come As You Are: God wants every person to come as they are to Him and His Church, where they can find forgiveness, eternal life, and life to the full through Jesus.God wants us to come as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way. Just because God receives us as we are does not mean there isn't a standard that He calls us to live out. "Come As You Are" is not an excuse to stay who have been. It's also not an excuse to reject people who are not living up to it, because God loves everyone unconditionally, as should we. Watch to see how if we believe in the right things but respond to people in the wrong way, then what we believe won't matter.Jeff's Message Notes are here.Small Group Discussion Questions are here.To see the full list of The Harbor's Core Values, please click here.________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Core Value #1 - Prayer is Our Priority: The work of the Church is first and foremost prayer, by which all other work is led, empowered, and supported. There is no such thing as a healthy, thriving, Christ following, God honoring church, if that church is not focused on and driven by prayer. This is why prayer is our first Core Value at The Harbor. Why is prayer so important? People may not say it to us, but they are evaluating whether our faith is genuine by watching how we live our lives. The only way they can truly tell if our faith is real is not by our words, because words can be empty, but by our actions. If we truly believe that what we say we believe is really real, then our lives will reflect it. So the question is, are we living a life that is worthy of the Gospel?Ryan's Message Notes are here.Small Group Discussion Questions are here.As a resource to print out, we'd like to offer "10 Signs of a Politically Undivided Heart." In God's Word, we are commanded to pray for all people, no matter if we like them, or disagree with them, or what. All people, especially those in authority over us: our local police, the mayor, the governor, and the President of the United States, whether you voted for them or not. The command does not change depending on who is leading. That might be distasteful or difficult, but we must do it. So how do we pray and what do we pray for all of those in authority over us? In part 2 of the message entitled The Prayer of Jesus, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness tells us about "The #1 Prayer of Jesus". In part 1, we learned that hours before His excruciating death on the cross, at a time when every word counted, Jesus prayed for the protection, purity (holiness), and purpose of those who were following Him and anyone who would ever follow Him. But more important than those things, what do you think the most important prayer that Jesus prayed for His people is? In the last message we learned that "God is Everything". Everything that God has done and is doing today and all that He will do in the future is because of His great love. So what is our response to His love? Devotion. We are to be devoted to not only to following Christ, but to abiding in Him. What exactly does this mean? How do we "abide" in Jesus? It's easy for any of us to ask ourselves, “What is my purpose in this life, in this world, in this universe?" You may feel so small and insignificant and sometimes just wonder what the point of it all is. You may see the daily headlines of natural disasters, global conflicts, political division, and it becomes easy to feel like a very tiny drop in a vast and endless ocean. If this is you, we have one main thought for you...nothing makes sense unless you begin with God. Why? What is it that humans long for most? There is probably a range of answers such as meaning, relationships, love, and significance, but the one everyone could agree on would be freedom. Humans long to be free. Experiencing freedom as a citizen of the USA is one thing, but the idea of experiencing spiritual freedom can often be much harder. Even though we talk about it, sing about it, and hear about it, many of us are still not walking in spiritual freedom. Instead, we continue to feel shackled by our guilt, shame, sins, our past, and our doubts. The reason for this is because we have two enemies. Watch/listen to this message by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers to find out who these enemies are and how we can have true, lasting freedom.Ryan's Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=ByYuWUCU0Small Group Discussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/He-Is-We-Are-6.pdf______________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
Have you ever felt like God in the Old Testament is different from God in the New Testament? The grace shown in the Old Testament and the grace we receive through Christ in the New Testament are very similar. We can even see God's grace in the way He dealt with Adam and Eve in the garden despite the consequences of their sin. Watch this message to understand God's grace and how, even when He disciplines His children, it is His grace (undeserved yet freely given love and favor) we receive.Click here for Chris' Message Notes.Click here for Small Group Discussion Questions.________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
