Think back to a time when someone made time for you. Maybe that looked like caring for you when you were sick, or teaching you how to tie your shoe, making food for you, or teaching you how to read or learn a new skill. No matter what it is, when people make time for us, it can bring us joy. It’s like a light shining on a dark day. Caring for one another isn’t always the easy thing to do, but it certainly is what Jesus asks of us. When Jesus gave the command in Matthew 5 to let our light shine, it wasn’t just to bring joy into each other’s lives, but also to bring glory to God. We are reflections of Who God is, and as we “Live Bright” this month, we’ll discover exactly how we can shine God’s light.

Recognize that you have a gift. Determine to use your gift to help others. Give God the glory when you use your gift to help others.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 ESV
Something very powerful happens when we embrace our God-given identity as the light of the world. In order to fully embrace this identity, it is essential that we build a very specific rhythm into our lives.

Sunday, Oct 31, 2021 - The message today is about the 2nd Identity statement Jesus makes to His followers following the Beatitudes. The 1st Identity Jesus gives us is "Salt" which we spoke about last week. The 2nd is "Light" of which we are speaking today. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus says, "You are the Light of the World". Sounds simple enough, but as we dig into what He is really saying, we will see this is very profound. Light's main purpose is to uncover what's hidden in the darkness. Think about that for a minute, sometimes what's hidden in the darkness is potentially going to hurt us, and other times it's something that we're trying to hide and keep from being exposed. There's so much to talk about and such little time. Listen in and worship with us. It was also a surprise pastor appreciation presentation of which I kept a little in here. I appreciate being appreciated and want to thank all those in our church that shared their love with Chris and me. Be blessed...
We exist for the praise of the glory of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Everything we do as a church must bring glory to God in the name of Christ Jesus. We are an intergenerational church. We strive to make a seamless journey of faith from birth to old age. We are overtly trinitarian. We are always looking for the work of the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We value people. We present the ideal of God’s plan while embracing the reality of life.
There has been a great deal of fighting, frustration and disappointment among people in our culture. Sometimes it has been among those whom we have loved, respected and hung out with. Jesus told us, “You are the light of the world.” The implications of this remarkable statement are many, and understanding them will help us to find a way forward through the darkness.

Y'all are light to glow and show the glory of Christ.
What if we took "Love your neighbor as yourself" literally? How would that change your block? Your community? Your world? We believe Jesus can use you right where you live!
I almost never do this. I am a planner, and I typically know what I’m gonna preach months--if not a full year—in advance. But God put a different message on my heart midweek, so I’m gonna go with the Spirit on this one. In this message hear what God is calling us to as a church. — Pastor Matt
