"We can do simple things with God in it and we can let our lights shine." Pastor Mike Schroeder.

Sermon audio from Liverpool Baptist Church's morning services.
Think back to a time when someone made time for you. Maybe that looked like caring for you when you were sick, or teaching you how to tie your shoe, making food for you, or teaching you how to read or learn a new skill. No matter what it is, when people make time for us, it can bring us joy. It’s like a light shining on a dark day. Caring for one another isn’t always the easy thing to do, but it certainly is what Jesus asks of us. When Jesus gave the command in Matthew 5 to let our light shine, it wasn’t just to bring joy into each other’s lives, but also to bring glory to God. We are reflections of Who God is, and as we “Live Bright” this month, we’ll discover exactly how we can shine God’s light.
What are the warning lights in your life that you have ignored?
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus called his followers to be the “light of the world.” But how is your light? In this message, Pastor Sawyer walks us through how our light should shine and encourages us that our light can make a true difference in our dark world. Recognize that you have a gift. Determine to use your gift to help others. Give God the glory when you use your gift to help others.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 ESV
Something very powerful happens when we embrace our God-given identity as the light of the world. In order to fully embrace this identity, it is essential that we build a very specific rhythm into our lives.

May the God of Wonders Bless You!
Sunday, Oct 31, 2021 - The message today is about the 2nd Identity statement Jesus makes to His followers following the Beatitudes. The 1st Identity Jesus gives us is "Salt" which we spoke about last week. The 2nd is "Light" of which we are speaking today. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus says, "You are the Light of the World". Sounds simple enough, but as we dig into what He is really saying, we will see this is very profound. Light's main purpose is to uncover what's hidden in the darkness. Think about that for a minute, sometimes what's hidden in the darkness is potentially going to hurt us, and other times it's something that we're trying to hide and keep from being exposed. There's so much to talk about and such little time. Listen in and worship with us. It was also a surprise pastor appreciation presentation of which I kept a little in here. I appreciate being appreciated and want to thank all those in our church that shared their love with Chris and me. Be blessed...

We exist for the praise of the glory of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Everything we do as a church must bring glory to God in the name of Christ Jesus. We are an intergenerational church. We strive to make a seamless journey of faith from birth to old age. We are overtly trinitarian. We are always looking for the work of the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We value people. We present the ideal of God’s plan while embracing the reality of life.

There has been a great deal of fighting, frustration and disappointment among people in our culture. Sometimes it has been among those whom we have loved, respected and hung out with. Jesus told us, “You are the light of the world.” The implications of this remarkable statement are many, and understanding them will help us to find a way forward through the darkness.
God so loved YOU! To own that relationship with Him. To own that fellowship with Him, that was so worth it to Him to pay the price that He paid. Value is different in the eye of the beholder. He knew who I was and yet, He saw value in me. But not only me, but for the whole world also. Not because of anything we did, but because of His love. He looked at us through eyes of grace and mercy, He purchased us! Praise His dear name!

On this Easter morning, Pastor Brian encouraged us to rise and shine just as Jesus shined and rose.

The message of the gospel is very powerful in that it transforms the lives of those who accept the saving message of Christ. And for those who have been transformed, a responsibility is also given. A responsibility to share that message. Today we’ll examine some suggestions in the topic ‘Teaching With Gentleness & Patience’.

You are the light of the world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden. Who is the light of the world? You are! I am! We are. We are the hope bringers, the light savers, the carriers of the good news and it should shine through our lives like a bright blazing candle. People should be drawn to us wondering why we are joyful. We should stand out in the dark. We should be the one people look to for hope.
