Distract ourselves. Tell ourselves “later.” In Ezekiel 6, God confronts the places people kept running to for safety, identity, comfort, and control apart from Him. And the warning is sobering: What you trust to hold you together will eventually reveal whether it actually can. This message wrestles with the things we cling to when life feels uncertain, why our hearts keep returning to false hopes, and what happens when God lovingly exposes what cannot save us. Sometimes I wish I had a dashboard light that could warn me when my heart's getting off track — like a little “pride building” or “forgiveness overdue” message. But as I was thinking about that this week, I realized God has given me a warning system: it's the fruit I produce.

Bible Reading: Psalm 101:1-8Callie sat on her bed, so engrossed in her new library book that she didn't even notice her mom enter the room. When Mom sat down next to her, Callie jumped and shoved the book under her, hoping her mom hadn't seen the title.Mom frowned. "You doing okay? I was just wondering why you were so quiet up here." She peered around Callie. "What were you reading?"Callie shot her a thin smile. "Oh, nothing. Just a book I got at the library." She blinked, trying to clear her flustered brain. "So, did Dad finish working on the car?" Mom folded her arms, studying her. "No, he's still trying to figure it out. The check engine light keeps flashing." Callie nodded. "Wow. I hope the car's okay!" "I'm sure it will be fine," said Mom. "Your Dad always takes the car's warning lights very seriously, so I'm sure he'll be able to fix the problem before it causes too much damage." She cleared her throat and scooted closer to her daughter. "Callie, you're twelve, and you're getting to the age when you'll be making some important decisions." Callie swallowed and nodded. "I'm not going to make you show me the book you're hiding. I don't know what it has in it that makes you feel the need to hide it. All I'm going to say is that your conscience is telling you something without me having to say a word." Callie studied her fingernails, and Mom sighed. "The embarrassment I see on your face is a God-given warning light, Callie. It's telling you that something in that book doesn't line up with who you are as a follower of Jesus. Because He has freed you from sin, it doesn't belong in your life anymore. When you're tempted to focus on sinful things, the Holy Spirit uses your conscience to warn you. If you listen to His warning, it can prevent major problems down the road."Callie squirmed. As much as she hated to admit it, she knew Mom was right. She pulled out the book. "I guess I'll need a ride to the library so I can return this." As the weight of the book lifted from her conscience, she smiled. Live from Studio G—in the heart of what's left of this great country—I'm Steve Gruber, fighting for you every day from the foxhole of freedom to defend what freedoms we have left—Thank you for being here—this is the Steve Gruber Show—   AND Here are 3 big things you need to know this hour—   Number One— The U-S Senate is apparently completely tone deaf—and is so completely out of touch with America—that they just shoved through $95 Billion dollars in new aid—the vast majority of which is earmarked for the corrupt regime in Ukraine—   Number Two— Over in the House—they are not as tone deaf—and last night they voted to impeach Alejandro Mayorkis—it's the first cabinet member impeached since 1876—BUT it could create other problems in the future— just another warning—   Number Three— The warning lights are flashing and the Red Flags are flying at every turn these days—we are in a very dangerous place—in so many places that any one of them could trigger a full blown crisis—NOT the kind that they pretend we have BUT actual full blown emergencies that will place the entire country at risk—   In this election year the stakes could not be higher for our future—   The economy is our first stop of many today—because after much higher than expected inflation numbers on Tuesday— Wall Street had its worst day in a year— Stocks on the Dow, Nasdaq and the S and P 500 were all off by almost one and a half percent—   This comes after we already learned that consumer debt has set an all time high with tens of billions of dollars added at the end of 2023—credit cards and car loans are leading the way for those who default—and its not getting any easier—   The reason the numbers fell like a stone on Wall Street is simple—investors were expecting a drop in interest rates from the Fed—in fact some were suggesting rates could be cut as many as four times this year—BUT that is pretty much off the table now—because with inflation squarely above 3 percent—it seems unlikely any more than two rate cuts are going to happen in 2024—and right now—I would not even bet on that—   But this is just the beginning of the warning signs we are seeing today—   We are just learning—that not only is the US Senate and the Biden Administration pushing for more funding to keep the deadliest War in Europe since World War II, going as long as possible— BUT late yesterday Reuters broke a story that Washington killed a deal for a ceasefire offered by contacts reaching out on behalf of Vladimir Putin—   It seems your countries leaders don't actually want a peace deal—BUT instead want to shovel billions of dollars we don't have to fund the ongoing and deadly war—   BUT the problem is—Americans, ordinary taxpayers like you and me don't support such a thing—and poll after poll shows that Americans reject the idea of being involved in Ukraines war any further—

Live from STUDIO G- in the heart of America- I'm STEVE GRUBER- saying the things you wish you could -every day-  fighting for you from the Foxhole of Freedom and defending this great nation-- this is THE STEVE GRUBER SHOW!   Here are 3 big things you need to know right now—   Number One— Tucker Carlson is not only not intimidated by the threats of lawsuits being put forth by Fox News—he is launching his own Network—to compete head-to-head with every one of the corporate media giants—   Number Two— IN Houston there is a major warning for Democrats in the Deep Blue city—Republicans just flipped the City Council red—by winning 3 out of 5 seats in a shock to Democrats—Danger Will Robinson, Danger!   Number Three— And on the national stage those warning lights are flashing every day for Joe Biden and his failing administration—   One poll after another show the Democrats are in serious trouble all over the country—and if they can lose control of the city council in Houston—they can get beat anywhere on the map and that is a fact—   The frustration and the panic are evident everywhere you look—I mean it is one poll after another—showing Joe Biden's approval numbers are the lowest by far of any modern day American President—and every one of those that were anywhere near his dismal numbers were defeated when they were up for re-election—   Over at 538—the polling company run by Nate Silver—they show Biden with an all time low in job approval in the average too—which can sometimes be buffered by a couple of stronger polling results—but that cannot prop up the sagging numbers right now—   And as of Monday—Joe Biden was in the hole more than 18 points with a meager support level of just 37.7%--   And yet the Democrats keep claiming that everything is going well—BUT across the board, everything, and I mean everything about this feeble Commander in Chief is being rejected—   The two biggest issues Americans are talking about the most are far and away—the economy and the failure of Bidenomics and the wide open southern border that is an existential threat to our nation—by way of overwhelming our infrastructure and putting us at grave risk for unprecedented terrorist attacks—   Some more positive polling numbers show the race nationally is a deadheat—while others show former President Trump crushing Joe Biden—and the more people that are in the race—the bigger the victory for Trump—   And the real separation is now happening in the critical swing states of which there are about half a dozen—   And like I said—it is the economy and the fear of tougher days ahead that have people very worried about what happens next—and could 2024 prove to be a very bad year for our money—   Meanwhile—Bidenomics has been dropped by everyone except Joe Biden as we heard yesterday here on the program—BUT it is Joe's senility that is most noticeable—and seriously if you go as far back as 2016 or even to the campaign trail in 2019 and 2020—and compare that to what we are seeing now—it is painfully obvious how much Joe has gone downhill—it is remarkable— I mean here is how serious Joe Biden's decline really is—and even though the Democrats circle the wagons and pretend everything is ok— “move along—nothing to see here”— “Joe is great—his vigor is amazing—what a leader”—despite them trying to sell that over and over again—its not working—they don't even believe it—   That's why California Governor Gavin Newsome has been running a shadow campaign for President—and was out debating Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis—   And look he isn't the only one with an eye on the prize—every Democrat that has ever wanted to run for President is prepping for the chance to throw their hat in the ring—   Over on the Republican side—it really is all over but the crying as I told you at the top—BUT there is a serious race for second place—as Ron DeSantis may get beat at the wire by Nikki Haley—and she is willing to take shots at Donald Trump—BUT she may well be looking to be number two on the ticket in 2024—and another poll shows her beating Joe Biden by even bigger margins than her old boss—   Yeah, I just cannot wait for the new year—to see if Joe Biden can get hopped up on amphetamines enough to make it through—can you imagine what a debate will sound like this tie around?
