Public Safety Professionals are killing themselves more than the people they encounter daily in their profession. As a Public Safety Professional this is devastating and unacceptable. The problem is Public Safety Professionals do not get a lot of training when it comes to dealing with social emotional issues. As a Police Officer, I learned to shoot, drive, fight, enforce laws and protect citizens but I never learned about the social emotional impact trauma has on my family and I over my career. When I discovered trauma informed care and applied it to my job and my personal life, I realized this training is needed across our industry.I found the right partnerships and created Going Beyond The Call Mental Health Fitness for Public Safety Professionals. I want to reduce Public Safety suicides dramatically over the next 5 years. Lt. Colonel David Grossman wrote the foreword for our book and had this to say: "One of the most important books (and programs) of our time. A hidden impact, a stigmatized secret that overshadows the men and women who sacrifice every day. With this training and these tactics for wellness, we can stop the tragic statistics to these professions. Going Beyond the Call is an action plan for the magnificent individuals who “go beyond the call” every day, and for our very civilization, to survive and thrive amid death and darkness. We must begin a process, a movement, a revolution, a culture shift in training in which every first responder is well equipped with the information in this vital book and training."By: Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, author, On Killing, On Combat, & Assassination Generation This program is designed to help Public Safety Organizations:*Bridge gaps in the communities they serve*Reduce liability and lower the bottom line *Create a higher quality of life mentally, physically, and physiologically professionally and personally. * Save First Responders Lives

Tonight's special guest is Sean Wyman from Tallahassee , Florida, a survivor of both childhood emotional and physical abuse and now an activist. He wants to share his story of child abuse to help others. Sean's book, 'The Movement Process' shares the challenges of child abuse and how he finally overcame the aftermath to help others do the same. "I believe we all have a path to follow, Sean says. "The challenge is keeping our eyes forward and keeping our feet going in the right direction." Just like most of us he didn't know this at first, eventually he faced the challenges and the terror he faced from his step father being a drug dealer in Washington DC. "It was not until I realized I was missing the most important part of my brand that everything changed for me." In his book, Sean discusses the breaking point where he almost did something he would have regretted the rest of his life, and how he finally was able to let go of the hatred and resentment that was built up from this experience. "I started focusing on what my unique talents were, what God had blessed me with, and the path that I was meant to follow." He now has over 32 years experience working to transform others into their true self, and setting them on the right path. "I aspire to help people see the value, belief, and potential God created in each and everyone of us and help you communicate that to the world through your brand so you can share the gifts God gave you and make the difference you were meant to make. We're delighted to welcome him to the NAASCA family !!
