As we recall the Saints, Peter and Paul, we also recall how Peter was the first pope and Paul was an apostle called by Christ on a special mission. The Apostles established grew the church started by Christ and made the bishops their successors. Listen to my reflection to learn more.

Color: Red First Reading: Acts 15:1–12 First Reading: Acts 15:1–21 Psalm: Psalm 46; antiphon: v. 11 Epistle: Galatians 2:1–10 Gospel: Matthew 16:13–19 Introit: Psalm 89:1, 5, 15–16; antiphon: Psalm 119:46 Gradual: Romans 10:15b, 18b; Isaiah 52:7b, alt. Verse: Matthew 16:18b St. Peter and St. Paul, Apostles Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God.” So confessed St. Peter. And Christ promised to build His Church on it by the forgiveness of sins (Matt. 16:16–19). He does this so we don't try to build the Church ourselves, on this or that person, or by any human means. “Let no one boast in men … whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas,” for “all are yours, and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's” (1 Cor. 3:21–23). The same Lord “who worked through Peter … worked also through” Paul and is still at work in His Gospel and Sacraments (Gal. 2:7–8). The Church of every age must be recalled to “hear the word of the gospel” — the free forgiveness of sins for Christ's sake apart from the Law — “and believe.” The Holy Spirit makes “no distinction” among men, but cleanses “hearts by faith” alone. So “we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 15:7–11). Both were imprisoned (Acts 12:1–11), both wrote Scripture (2 Peter 3:15–16), both opposed the world — and sometimes each other (Gal. 2:11–16) — all so “that the truth of the gospel might be preserved” for us (Gal. 2:5). Friends of the Rosary,Today, June 29, the faithful venerate the two Apostles Peter and Paul, Apostles (d. 64-67), on whom the Church was built.Peter, the head of the apostles, and Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, have been remembered together on this date since ancient times.Under God's guidance, they were led to make Rome, the capital of the Empire, sanctified by their martyrdom, the center of the Christian world, from where the preaching of the Gospel would radiate down the centuries.St. Peter suffered martyrdom under Nero, in A.D. 66 or 67. He was buried on the hill of the Vatican; his tomb is on the very site of the Basilica of St. Peter's. St. Paul was beheaded in the Via Ostia on the spot where now stands the basilica bearing his name, today a pilgrimage place. In today's main reading (Matthew 16:13-19), we see Christ changing the name of Peter to Cephas (Greek: Petros, meaning "rock"), and asking,“Who do you say that I am?”Simon Peter said in reply,“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Though very different men, God reconciled and unified Peter and Paul in the teaching and death of Jesus Christ.May we be emboldened to proclaim Jesus and his teachings even in immense peer pressure. Acts 15:1–12; Galatians 2:1–16; Matthew 16:13–19Feast of Sts Peter and Paul
Looking at the lives of Sts. Peter and Paul, show the path of each temperament to sanctity.
They poured out their lives for a mission to which they were called. We are also called to pour out our lives for the mission we have been given.
On this solemnity, we are reminded by Deacon Dave of our call to be missionaries of hope, just as Saints Peter and Paul were in their time, and as the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal are today. Through faith in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are called to bring light to a world in darkness through the way we live, love, and serve.

Send us a textThe church is not just the place we come to, it is the place from which we are sent forth. We need both, Peter and Paul. Homily for Sunday Mass given by Fr. Dennis O'Keeffe
We look ahead to the Solemnity of Sts Peter and Paul and unpack the readings with Rob Corzine.
This homily was given on the 26th of June 2025 at Camp St. Thekla in Cleveland, South Carolina, at the celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (offered in anticipation). In it, Fr. Anthony reflects on the bold faith and deep friendship between these two pillars of the Church. Drawing from their distinct personalities— Peter the confident fisherman who was always both bold and repentant and Paul the intellectual missionary who was always ready to live and sacrifice for his beliefs. Father encourages all of us to recognize how God uses our unique gifts for a greater purpose. He challenges listeners, especially the youth, to be courageous in their faith, to build strong friendships rooted in Christ, and to be open to the mission God is calling them to. Fr. Anthony gave a version of this homily tailored for his parish the following Sunday (but neglected to record it). Enjoy the show!
In this special ALIVE episode, Fr. Jonathan Meyer reflects on the powerful feast of Saints Peter and Paul—celebrated on the weekend of his very first Mass, 22 years ago! Through two gospel readings (John 21 and Matthew 16), we're challenged to examine what we love—and whether our lives show it—and to never give ourselves to anything less than the truth. From Peter's call to love through action to Christ's promise to build His Church on solid rock, this episode invites us to go deeper in faith, love, and fidelity to Jesus.
