A high school social studies teacher of twenty-six years, she wrote Palms on the Cape five years ago — but when her original publisher closed, the manuscript sat on the shelf while she found a new home at Black Rose Writing. Now, after publishing Considering Us (2025 American Fiction Award winner) first, her Cape Cod friends-to-lovers romance is finally here. Mike and Jenn talk about pivoting when a publisher folds, the magic of Mayflower Beach at low tide, why the bar is named after palm trees, and what it's like when your high school students Google you. Cape Cod as a character. Set primarily in Dennis near Mayflower Beach, the novel also visits Chatham, Falmouth, Hyannis, and Nantucket. Jenn spent eleven consecutive Augusts renting on the Cape and channels that intimacy into the setting. 5. A When Harry Met Sally spin. Rachel's lifelong best friend Carlos — a retired Red Sox pitcher — might be the love of her life, but she won't let herself think about it. Everyone else already knows. 6. Keep the same editor. Jenn has worked with the same editor across all four books. That continuity builds trust and deepens the editorial relationship — something newer authors can seek out intentionally. I'm at Hampton Court Palace in the Communication Gallery to look at a very special collection of paintings, the Windsor Beauties. These portraits immortalize 10 woman said to be the most stunning members of the restoration court. They exude elegance, confidence, and more than a hint of seduction. It was long whispered that famous philanderer, King Charles II used the paintings like a catalog, to choose which lovely lady would be his bedfellow for the evening. His lascivious majesty would then place his order with the Keeper of his Privy Closet, known as his ‘Pimp-master General' who would then call for the patiently waiting lucky lady. The Windsor beauties gained such a notorious reputation that by 1835, the now prudish royal court despised them. The collection was consigned to Hampton court Palace, which was no longer a royal residence. But were the Windsor beauties really just restoration Pinups, or is there more to the story? Let's meet the real women rendered in colorful goop, and find out why they were chosen. We'll discover who was and was not a royal mistress, and which beauties were sleeping with each others husbands. In this episode we explore Grievance #4 of the Declaration of Independence and the importance of Colonial infrastructure--the roads, ports, cities, and other communication structures and information systems that helped the Colonies thrive. SECRET AGENTS IN FALMOUTH: ESPIONAGE AND UNDECIPHERED CODES Colleagues Sean Kingsleyand Rex Cowan, The Pirate King. By 1700, Defoe and Avery work as secret agents in Falmouth, influencing elections and intercepting mail for the Crown.
