    Ivy Insights

The Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids is a fantastic podcast that provides engaging and educational content about Christ and the Catholic faith. This podcast is especially great for children, offering them a space to learn and grow in their faith. With episodes focused on what's going on in the church year, this podcast helps children understand the importance of different seasons and celebrations within Catholicism. The hosts do an excellent job of teaching kids how to grow their faith and providing valuable lessons that can be applied to everyday life. Overall, I highly recommend The Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids to both children and parents looking for a podcast that nurtures their spiritual development.

One of the best aspects of The Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids is its ability to make complex religious concepts accessible to children. The hosts break down complicated ideas into bite-sized pieces that are easy for young minds to grasp. The content is presented in an engaging manner, keeping children entertained while also teaching them important lessons about their faith. Additionally, the inclusion of stories about saints and blessings adds depth to the teachings, allowing kids to connect with real-life examples of individuals who have lived out their faith.

While there aren't many negative aspects of this podcast, one potential downside is that it may not appeal as much to older listeners or those with a more advanced understanding of the Catholic faith. The content is specifically tailored for children, which means that it may not offer as much depth or complexity as some adults may prefer. However, this podcast serves its intended audience exceptionally well by targeting young listeners who are seeking a fun and informative way to learn about their faith.

In conclusion, The Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids is an outstanding resource that provides valuable teachings about Christ and the Church in an accessible way for children. With its engaging storytelling and practical lessons, this podcast offers a great tool for parents looking to deepen their children's understanding of the Catholic faith. Overall, I highly recommend The Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids to families seeking an educational and entertaining podcast that nurtures their children's spiritual growth.

St. Rosalia walked away from a noble Sicilian family to live alone in a cave — then saved a plague-stricken city five centuries later. Rosalia gave up wealth and an expected marriage to live hidden in a cave on Monte Pellegrino, seen by no one, known only to Christ, until her death around 1166. Nearly 500 years later, in 1624, her relics were discovered and carried through plague-stricken Palermo in procession — and the plague stopped. "I, Rosalia, daughter of Sinibald, Lord of Monte delle Rose, and Quisquina, have taken the resolution to live in this cave for the love of my Lord, Jesus Christ." Pope St. Gregory the Great gave up a life of power in Rome for prayer — then used the papacy to feed the hungry and send missionaries to Britain. Gregory walked away from his post as Prefect of Rome to become a monk, only to be called back and eventually elected pope in 590. As pope, he wouldn't sit down to eat until Rome's hungry were fed first — and he never forgot a group of enslaved boys he'd once seen in the Forum, eventually sending missionaries across the sea to bring them, and all of Britain, the Catholic faith. "Who are these boys, and where do they come from?" Today's challenge is just the start. St. Ingrid of Skänninge turned her grief as a young widow into pilgrimages all the way to Jerusalem and Rome. Widowed young, the Swedish noblewoman Ingrid began gathering with other women to pray, then set out walking — first to Santiago de Compostela, then to the Holy Land itself, then to Rome — offering every hard mile to God. When she came home to Skänninge, she turned that same devotion into a Dominican convent built entirely around a shared life of prayer. "Holiness isn't something you find alone in a corner — it's something you walk toward, often side by side with others." Ingrid's challenge doesn't have to end when the episode does. Venerable Marie-Josephte Fitzbach turned her own grief into an open door for women no one else in Quebec would take in. Widowed young, Marie-Josephte Fitzbach joined the Sisters of Charity of Quebec and spent her nights bringing her sorrows to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking who needed her most. The answer was always the same: women just out of prison, with nowhere else to turn. She opened a refuge called Sainte-Madeleine, refusing to ask anyone to prove they deserved help first, and eventually founded a whole new religious community to keep the door open. "Every woman who walked through her door, Marie-Josephte believed, was Christ arriving in disguise." Want to keep living Marie-Josephte's story after the episode ends? Two secret followers of Jesus — afraid their whole lives — finally stepped into the light at the foot of the Cross. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus were powerful members of the Jewish council who believed in Jesus but kept it hidden out of fear. After Jesus died, something changed: Joseph boldly asked Pontius Pilate for Jesus's body, and together the two men wrapped Him in linen and spices and laid Him in Joseph's own tomb — the first public, costly act of faith either man had ever made. "Something broke open inside them." ⭐Want to keep living Joseph and Nicodemus's story after the episode ends?  Grab our free Every Day's a Feast Day calendar and get every saint and every challenge delivered, so your family can follow along together: https://shop.catholicsprouts.com/pages/every-days-a-feast-day-follow-along

More elderly poor kept arriving, and Jeanne kept making room — begging door to door for whatever they needed. Though a priest later took credit for founding her congregation and pushed her aside for the rest of her life, the Little Sisters of the Poor she truly started now serve in more than thirty countries. Serapia, a young Christian slave in ancient Rome, never preached to her mistress Sabina — she simply lived her faith so visibly that Sabina couldn't stop noticing, and eventually asked to be baptized herself. When Serapia was arrested and martyred for her faith, Sabina stepped forward publicly as a Christian too, choosing martyrdom rather than staying safely silent. "The slave went first. The mistress followed." ⭐Following Sts.
