We are traveling back in time this week.. a whole 14 months! 2016 gifted us with some of the most amazing games we've ever seen, and we're here in the future to review some of their expansions. For any expansion, gamers want to know if it adds new, essential gameplay or just more stuff. We have answers for you! Anthony leads us off to talk about Scythe: The Wind Gambit (2:34) with comes with Airships and also different end game conditions. Next, Jason bumbles his way through his impressions of Star Wars Rebellion: Rise of the Empire (11:20), a review through which Star Wars lover Anthony could barely contain his rage. Finally, Anthony gathers himself to talk about Terraforming Mars: Venus Next (23:05). Finally, we debut a new segment which we call Improve Your Play, where we break down the basic strategy for a hot solo game and help you win consistently. Building on our reviews for this week, we give you our strategy tips for Terraforming Mars (30:58). If you were struggling to fill those three Terraforming tracks in solo mode, this is the segment for you!
Our hosts start off talking about all the commercials and trailers in the super bowl, before diving into some recently played games. Jeff lost it all in Ponzi Scheme, Zach explored a new planet in Terraforming Mars: Venus Next, and Adrian drew some lines in Roads and Boats. In News, A bunch of expansions and games were announced in the German Toy fair, ShipNaked messed up a LOT of shipping, and HG Wells made a war game. In Kickstarters, Agents of Mayhem, Xia, Herbalism, Isles of terror, and Warriors of Jogu get a first look. Some more lisboa feedback, additional questions from the Q&A episode and an updated patreon close out the show. 00:00:27 - Intro Banter!: Super Bowl Commericals and Movie Trailers, Cloverfield Paradox, 00:13:37 - What have we been playing:- Ponzi Scheme, Golf, Terraforming Mars: Venus Next, Roads and Boats 00:42:25 - News: German Toy Fair 2018 (Part 2) 00:48:44 - News: Great Western Trail Expansion: Rails to the North 00:52:36 - News: Monopoly Cheater's Edition 00:55:47 - News: More EXIT Games 00:57:20 - News: Catan - The Rise of the Inca 00:58:51 - News: BGG Artist Series II 01:01:16 - News: ShipNaked Messups 01:06:01 - News: HG Wells made a War game(and was sexist about it) 01:09:06 - KS: Agent's of Mayhem - Pride of Babylon 01:13:47 - KS: Xia - Embers of a Forsaken Star Expansions 01:17:07 - KS: Herbalism Eric's Preview 01:21:08 - KS: Isles of Terror 01:26:18 - KS: Warriors of Jogu 01:29:41 - Lisboa BGG Feedback 01:38:38 - Missed Questions from Q&A Episode 01:45:27 - Updated Patreon Slack Channel Patreon Guild
