The game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2027.The event previewed the character designs for a female version of the player character and a new character Brett. The company announced the joint project with Toei Animation in January. The game includes a "never-before-seen original character, designed by Akira Toriyama." Akio Iyoku stated Toriyama was involved in the world-building, characters, and other aspects of the game. Meanwhile, Tekken 8's Season 3 patch got review-bombed so hard Bandai Namco dropped an emergency hotfix, Harada's out, and the community is treating the Discord feedback portal like group therapy. On the brighter side: Jam's back in Guilty Gear Strive 2.0, Akali hit 2XKO, and Avatar Legends launches July 2nd with rollback and crossplay for $29—finally, a licensed fighter that gets it. But the real chaos? Max put a $10K bounty on UMVC3 rollback and the internet told him to add another zero. In the world of PlayStation, this past week was one of mystery. For instance, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy seems to be rather blatantly teasing a new Uncharted game on Instagram. But is he actually? Meanwhile, the promise of PlayStation on PC seems to have gone totally up in smoke, with the quiet removal of related iconography from the PSN. Could it be a sign of things to come? Plus, Sony's aggressive new position on the PlayStation Store continues to bear fruit, as even more games are deleted and unpublished that never belonged there to begin with. Are we finally getting the storefront we deserve? Other news this week includes intrigue surrounding an interview with Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki, changes incoming for PS5's UI, potential teases for remakes or remasters of Persona 1 and 2, the wet fart that was the Tales series' 30th anniversary, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Do you have to play the original Resident Evil trilogy on PSone to be a "real" fan, or do the remakes suffice? Why is Square Enix so hesitant to do anything with Chrono Trigger? With Capcom's Pragmata right around the corner, what are our last-minute thoughts? We're getting old, so the only kind of exciting rave we're interested in on a weekday is Arcade Archives Rave Racer from Bandai Namco, by way of Hamster Corp - a game previously trapped in the arcades of the 90s, re-released for home consoles. Then we talk about another throwback, this time to a kind of genre that was massively popular a few years ago, that is getting a new spin: the flip and draw Flip Pick Towers from Osprey, Rob Fisher, Adam Porter, and Beatrix Papp. We round out the show with an unbelievably hot new boardgame called Eternal Decks from Hiroken and Mujunsha, which is a co-op experience with limited (but not zero) communication.

My Arcade continues to build on its reputation for creative, nostalgia‑driven gaming hardware with a new lineup that blends classic arcade experiences with modern design. The company's approach focuses on reimagining retro play in ways that feel familiar to longtime fans while remaining accessible to new audiences. At CES 2026, My Arcade introduced several products that highlight this philosophy, including a jukebox‑inspired gaming speaker, an updated handheld system, and a growing catalog of licensed titles from major gaming publishers. The company's design direction emphasizes playful form factors, authentic arcade aesthetics, and user‑friendly features. These elements support a wide range of players, from collectors seeking display‑worthy hardware to casual gamers who want portable access to classic titles.Jukebox Player Combining Music and Arcade GameplayOne of the most distinctive products introduced this year is the Jukebox Player, a device that merges a portable Bluetooth speaker with built‑in arcade games. The unit features a retro‑styled cabinet design with illuminated accents and a front‑facing speaker system engineered for everyday music listening. The inclusion of Bandai Namco titles transforms the device into a hybrid entertainment system that supports both audio playback and classic gaming. The concept reflects a growing trend in which users combine music and gameplay in shared environments. By integrating both functions into a single device, the Jukebox Player offers a compact and visually striking option for fans who want a multifunctional piece of retro‑inspired hardware.GameStation Retro Go Handheld SystemMy Arcade also showcased the GameStation Retro Go, a handheld system designed to deliver an extensive library of classic titles. The device includes more than two hundred games from Bandai Namco and Capcom, offering a broad selection of arcade and console favorites. The eight‑inch display uses a four‑by‑three aspect ratio, which preserves the original presentation of retro games and avoids the stretching common on widescreen devices. The system includes a built‑in kickstand for tabletop play and a rechargeable battery for portable use. A key feature is the company's Smart Glow technology, which illuminates only the controls required for the selected game. This guidance helps players navigate large game libraries without guesswork. The latest version of Smart Glow adds turbo and macro functionality, allowing users to assign rapid‑fire actions or complex move sequences to dedicated buttons. These enhancements support both casual play and more advanced gaming styles.Expanding Licensed Retro TitlesMy Arcade continues to grow its licensed catalog, with Sega joining Bandai Namco and Capcom as a major partner. Recent releases include Sonic‑themed tabletop units and joystick players that have performed strongly in retail environments. Additional Sega‑based products are planned, including devices featuring Shinobi, OutRun, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage. These systems incorporate themed controls, illuminated marquees, and gameplay faithful to the original titles. The company also offers Pixel Pockets, a line of fully playable keychain systems that include complete game ROMs rather than abbreviated versions. These miniature devices appeal to collectors and fans who want portable access to authentic retro gameplay.ConclusionMy Arcade's CES 2026 lineup demonstrates a continued commitment to creative hardware design and authentic retro gaming experiences. The Jukebox Player blends music and arcade play in a unique form factor, while the GameStation Retro Go expands handheld gaming with a large library and intuitive control guidance. The company's growing partnerships with major publishers further strengthen its position in the retro gaming market. This internal move, confirmed via regulatory filing on February 17, 2026, shifts approximately 11 million shares—previously making PIF Take-Two's second-largest shareholder—without any sale or exit from the company. This consolidation aligns with PIF's broader strategy, including a January 2026 announcement to transfer around $12 billion in gaming-related shares to Savvy, encompassing stakes in Nintendo, Bandai Namco, and expected positions in Koei Tecmo, NCSoft, Nexon, and Square Enix. Savvy Games Group emerges as the Kingdom's central vehicle for global gaming investments. The timing is notable ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI's 2026 release, with Take-Two's portfolio featuring GTA, Red Dead Redemption, NBA 2K, Borderlands, and Zynga's mobile titles driving market focus.Analytic Dreamz also covers PIF's separate $55 billion agreement (with partners) to acquire Electronic Arts, expected to close later in 2026, further deepening Saudi exposure to AAA publishing, U.S. gaming, and international publishers. This restructuring centralizes holdings under Savvy, maintaining strong Saudi capital ties to major franchises and the industry's biggest upcoming launch. This week we're channeling our inner shinobi to explore how Bandai Namco took Masashi Kishimoto's legendary manga about a determined orange-suited underdog and transformed it into a frantic button-mashing tournament fighter that somehow convinced an entire generation of fans that they could recreate iconic Naruto moments if they just hit the attack button fast enough and screamed at their TV harder than Naruto himself. Released during the golden age of anime-to-console adaptations, the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games became the de facto way fans could live out their ninja fantasies—assuming your ninja fantasy involves janky camera angles, occasionally unresponsive inputs, and the kind of special effect visual soup that makes you wonder if you're actually watching a jutsu or if your PS2 is just having a mild aneurysm. With fighters pulled straight from the Hidden Leaf Village and beyond, these games proved that sometimes the best way to honor a beloved manga is to give players the chance to make Naruto fight characters he had absolutely no reason to fight (looking at you, random filler villains). This episode, we're absolutely stoked to welcome Cory Byrd from Byrds Eye View Comics—a fellow enthusiast of all things sequential art and gaming who can probably explain why Naruto's popularity transcended manga, anime, AND video games with the kind of clarity that makes marketing departments weep with envy. Together, we'll investigate whether these games managed to capture the heart, humor, and hyperkinetic energy of Kishimoto's creation, or if they just left us face-first in the dirt like Naruto at the beginning of the series. So synchronize your chakra, practice your most devastating combo, and prepare for an episode that's guaranteed to be more chaotic than a Sand Village invasion and infinitely more entertaining than watching filler arcs about onigiri eating contests. Learn such things as: Can a game truly capture the experience of having ninjas solve political problems through friendship when there's no friendship stat on the screen? How many ninja village headbands would it take to actually run an economy, or is that question unanswerable because the series never bothered explaining it? Is it more important for characters in a fighter to be balanced or accurate? And so much more! Last year, Sony launched it's service-based third-person shooter Concord, and it bombed worse than virtually any PlayStation-developed title in history. In fact, it was received so poorly that Sony disappeared it off the market in a matter of two weeks, gave everyone their money back, and snuffed the entire project out of existence while closing the studio that made it. Fast-forward more than a year, though, and Concord has kinda-sorta returned. Tech-savvy enthusiasts have revived the game on private servers, but Sony has already caught wind of it all and are working to nip it in the bud. Do we really need Concord to return? Why does Sony care if it does? And why do smart people work so diligently on things they don't own or have control over? Plus: Black Friday will be exceptionally nice for those looking for PlayStation hardware, accessories, and games, Sony dominates The Game Awards nominations with 19, Bungie prods its playerbase for ideas on how to improve Destiny 2, EA's F1 series is taking a year hiatus, possibly indicating the future of EA Sports, Peacock renews Twisted Metal for a third season, and more. Have you ever considered who Nintendo should acquire next? Over the years, Nintendo has brought some longtime partners fully in-house, such as Next Level Games, which they officially acquired in 2021, and Monolith Soft, which joined Nintendo in 2007 after being acquired from Bandai Namco. But there are still a few studios that feel like they belong under the Nintendo umbrella. Think HAL Laboratory, the team behind Kirby and a close Nintendo partner since the early days; PlatinumGames, known for titles like Bayonetta 2 and Astral Chain (both Nintendo-published); or even Atlus, the RPG powerhouse behind Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. Some fans even toss around Sega as a wild “what-if” scenario, given their long history of collaboration and friendly rivalry. So let's talk about it — which studios make the most sense for Nintendo to acquire, and which ones would completely shake things up?

An old piece of games industry lore has recently reemerged, and it has people wondering about a tantalizing what-if. Back in 1999, The Matrix hit theaters, and the co-creators of the film happened to have been huge fans of Hideo Kojima, himself a year removed from the launch of Metal Gear Solid. And, as was reported at the time, there was potential that Konami would allow Kojima to pursue a licensed Matrix game post-MGS. A lot of new information has since emerged about what did and didn't happen here, and it makes for a great conversation starter. So let's lean into it, shall we? Our conclusion: Perhaps Kojima doing MGS2 instead of a Matrix game means he likely dodged a bullet (pardon the pun). Other news this week includes some quiet updates seemingly being made to PlayStation Portal's functionality, leaks from Bluepoint's cancelled God of War game, the most recent China Hero Project title in the form of Loulan: The Cursed Sand, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Following Freedom Wars, Patapon, and Everybody's Golf, what should Sony's and Bandai Namco's next collaborative re-release be? Do PC players have any reason to invest in the modern PlayStation ecosystem? Will the culture war consume Naughty Dog's Intergalactic? Does Colin type so fast that his keyboard smokes?
