Y nos vamos con un rockabilly de los irreverentes Rebel Son y con un guiño cervecero al gran Tom T. Our guest today is Travis Linville, an Oklahoma native and friend of DittyTV's who's been hailed as "one of the most sought-after songwriters and collaborators in the Sooner State and beyond.” Linville recently released a new album titled I'm Still Here, which was produced by JD McPherson, another Oklahoma native, and which features help on the songs from artists like Natalie Hemby, Hayes Carll and more. We first encountered Travis when he stopped by our studios in Memphis to record as part of the DittyTV Concert Series, and we've enjoyed following his work ever since. It's great to catch up with him, and a joy to share our talk with you right now. Take a listen. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information. Learn more about your ad choices. Songs and Music from She's the One que Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers pusieron en el mercado en 1996 será reeditada a primeros de julio con cuatro temas inéditos. Lots of great music came out on May! Let's round' em up! Read the transcript for this here. Album of the Month: Maia Sharp -- Mercy Rising Maia Sharp’s Mercy Rising. You’ll see what I mean when you listen to “You’ll Know Who Knows You.” This is a really sexy song, something that to me has an ineffably queer, nay, lesbian, aesthetic. The whole album is incredible; a sort of Neil Young influence, yes, but so confident and experimental and uniquely Sharp’s. THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
Today’s guest is a consummate musician who can basically play any instrument with strings, AND play them well. Native Oklahoman Travis Linville’s fascination with music started at an early age and his continuous learning and perfection of his craft has made him one of the most respected musicians to ever be a part of the Red Dirt/Texas Country/American Scene. He’s spent time fronting his own bands as well as being a hired gun for artists like Hayes Carll, Todd Snider and Marty Stuart. Linville’s new album, I’m Still Here, is a great collection of songs that should soon become a part of your own collection. In the interview you’ll hear just how this record came to be with Travis working alongside fellow Oklahoman, and monster musician in his own right, J.D. McPherson. After a recommendation by Bob Matter and many months of being “on our list”, it was with great pleasure that we finally got to talk with Travis Linville about his love for wet plate portraits and analogue photography. Travis lives near Chicago so of course listeners to the Classic Lenses Podcast will know that we had to start the conversation by asking him what the weather was like. http://www.travisbrianlinville.com/ Things we chatted about on the show: Why not come and join us the “LFPP 2020 Gathering in the Forest” over the weekend of 29th and 30th May. Bracelands Camp Site, Forest of Dean (that’s in the UK for those in the colonies) – www.campingintheforest.co.uk/england/forest-of-dean/bracelands-campsite Andrew will be arriving on the Friday and Simon on the Saturday. The main “gathering” will be Saturday evening when we hope to share witty tales of large format japes, drink adult beverages and eat burnt food…..what’s not to love. In preparation for our Gathering in the Forest, Andrew bought new ground glass for his wooden Bomm L45 camera and to say he’s pleased with it is an understatement. Check out virgisst on ebay, he’s in Lithuania and super low prices and high quality, Thoroughly recommended. Travis hasn’t been making wet plate images for all that long, one of his inspirations for portraits was Giles Clement and you can see his work here. www.gilesclement.com Thanks to all those who donated using the Ko-Fi site and to our email contributors, we finally managed to answer some (well two) before running out of time. And…… If you live anywhere near Stoke On Trent then why not get in touch with Simon and coma along to the 6 Towns Darkroom on a Tuesday evening You know how to find him LFPP links - https://largeformatphotographypodcast.podbean.com/ ko-fi.com/largeformatphotographypodcast You can join in the fun at our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/2296599290564807/ Get Twitter updates for the show from Andrew – https://twitter.com/warboyssnapper Or from Simon – https://twitter.com/simonfor Email feedback, ideas and questions for the podcast largeformatphotographypodcast@gmail.com Podcast Hosts Social Media presence Simon Forster www.classiclensespodcast.com www.simonforsterphotographic.co.uk https://stores.ebay.co.uk/itsfozzyphotography https://www.flickr.com/photos/125323761@N07/ https://www.facebook.com/SimonForsterPhotographic/ https://www.instagram.com/simonforsterphotographic/ https://twitter.com/SimonFor Andrew Bartram https://anchor.fm/thelenslesspodcast https://andrewbartram.wordpress.com https://www.instagram.com/warboyssnapper https://www.imstagram.com/warboyssnapper_pinholes https://www.flickr.com/photos/warboyssnapper/ https://twitter.com/warboyssnapper

THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
In this 2nd and final half of my interview with Trevor Burgess we talk about his record "Trucker's Dream" and the recording of that project with Travis Linville and Kevin Webb. This record eventually led to Burgess forming and touring with The Trevor Burgess Band whom made trips up and down I-35 in the mid 2000s. We visit about his stab at using radio promotion to create some buzz about the project. Trevor also talks about life after music and his career now as a member of the law enforcement community. He also conveys a humorous story or two from the road, including a time when Jason Boland mentions him onstage...but mispronounces his last name. www.thetroubadourpodcast.com www.facebook.com/thetroubadourpodcast www.instagram.com/thetroubadourpodcast/ twitter: @thetroubadourP1
