There's no denying that access to the internet has become essential in our daily lives. Thanks to technology, we are now able to work, shop, communicate and acquire important services remotely and conveniently. Not to mention, technology has also become a crucial enabler for the exercise and enjoyment of many of our human rights, especially our freedom of expression and right to information. When the pandemic struck, we have seen how a lack of meaningful access to the internet significantly impacted people's lives. With social distancing and having to live under quarantine conditions, we had to depend on technology to help us in a number of our daily activities, ranging from communication and work to accessing health services, education, information, and income-generating activities. While some of us may take having access to the internet for granted, for the communities without it, internet access is a matter of life and death. In this episode, we discuss what internet access should look like and unpack the gender digital divide. We also explored how we can move from internet access being a public good to a human right to be equally enjoyed by all. The hijab controversy has engulfed Karnataka, Many schoolgirls and teachers are not being allowed to enter classrooms with their hijabs on. The Karnataka High Court who is hearing the petitions filed by some Muslim students is asking the question- whether hijab is an essential garment for Muslims. We have a two-part series on this issue. This is the first episode. In this episode, Suno India's Menaka Rao spoke to  Heba Ahmed, a PhD student from Jawaharlal Nehru University who strongly defends her right to wear a hijab. She  also spoke to Dr Zeenat Shaukat Ali, a reputed scholar of Islamic Studies who retired from St Xavier's College, Mumbai. She is also the founder of the World Institute of Islamic Studies for Dialogue, Organisation of Mediation and Gender Justice or Wisdom Foundation. While Dr Zeenat regrets the way the issue has been politicised, as a scholar of Islamic studies, she is of the opinion that wearing hijab is not mandatory in the religion. Have you ever done something “world class foolish” that you still kick yourself about when you remember it? growgroup questions (grow) G1: Emmie Lou (Vlogger) defines wisdom as “choosing God's opinion over your opinion”. Why, in day to day living, is this so hard for us to do? G2: Dan said likened wisdom to getting a couch out of his basement while respecting the natural limitations (immovable walls, stairs etc). In what ways do you see today's society moving away from this understanding of wisdom (Judges 21:25)? G3: Over and over again Proverbs gives us two options: wisdom or foolishness, and our decisions have real world consequences: Hurting or healing (12:18), Consulting or clashing (14:1), Create or annihilate (14:6, Matthew 7). Think of a few other ways that choosing wisdom vs folly leads to real consequence in our lives. G5: Wisdom is all about location / geography. Compare Proverbs 9:13-18 with 9:1-6. List the differences or similarities between the character and words of the two women. How did Jesus' decision to be ‘in His Father's house' have an impact on His growth in verse 52? The move saw Krasner disinvited from an activist conference at Yale Law School. To discuss this news, we had a conversation with Mike Africa Jr., a Philadelphia organizer, a member of the Move Organization, and the President of the Seed of Wisdom Foundation. Africa is also the son of two political prisoners, also from MOVE. He was born in prison, and Krasner actually helped both his parents get released from jail. We discussed all of this yesterday, when Africa joined us for an interview.
