Zuhair and J Scotty return to the show that started this podcast, covering the first part of Young Justice Season 3, just in time for Season 4's release, Oct, 21!
We're approaching the end of the series as of NOW. We start off with a very special episode about serious topics, and the real-world issiues keep going through this whole batch. As we deal with Super-Villains, False-flag hero stunts on both the good and Bad end, and parents concerned with their children's safety.
This batch of episodes coincidentally all tied into the same plot, the development of the Outsiders Team. Specifically the social Media focused group started by BeastBoy and Manipulated by The Justice League and all of it's splinter groups. The Bros go over the newly discovered plot and the returning villains with glee.
This week with Young Justice we follow Halo and Forager to School and meet some new Batman Inc. members, as well as get a CRAZY crossover with Teen Titans Go of all shows, and even have an Original Teen Titans member join the cast!
This week the boys meet a ton of new heroes from old series, follow Geoforce, Forager, and Halo's training, Get the backstory of Vandal Savage as well as the human race, and even get a wonderful visit from the MAIN MAN himself!
We start season 3 of Young Justice... OUTSIDERS!!! We have another time-jump on our hands. Tons of new heroes, new villains, and new connections to CW DC shows Matt can't seem to stop watching. We meet Halo, Geoforce (not Red Star), and Forager. Also, we get some insight into the new epidemic, Meta-Human Teen trafficking!?!
This week, we talk about Young Justice: Outsiders

Ok people, let's just jump into the fray, shall we? Listen to the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review (MWIR) airing this Wednesday at 7pm eastern. Your resident AFROnerdist podcasts will be tackling the following issues: cleaning up topics that we didn't get to from the last show; an event honoring iconic educator/activist, Dr. Angela Davis is abruptly canceled due to Davis' alleged past pro Palestinian comments; more discussions that Black Villains do Matter in fiction as Superman (under the direction of Brian Michael Bendis) may have met his match in Robinson Goode; a third Captain Marvel trailer is released apparently defining the premise of the movie more clearly but will the film push the needle for female superheroes beyond DC's Wonder Woman?; perhaps we will address Pres. Trump's Oval Office address (ponderous!); more on upcoming movies for 2019; Star Trek 4 is shelved after director exits; it appears that investigations are afoot after the Surviving R. Kelly doc (that's all it takes after 25 years?) And lastly, Marvel president, Kevin Feige (while interviewed at Sunday's Golden Globes) gets a bit more candid about the Fox/Disney merger and the expected usage of more characters. Call LIVE at 646-915-9620.
It's hard to believe that 2019 really is in full swing, people. Nevertheless, our infamous Grindhouse podcast continues to persevere. Listen to your favorite AFROnerdist crew wax about the following subject matter: After much speculation and waiting, Young Justice S3 premiered this past weekend on the DC Universe streaming platform; noted actor, Idris Elba returns for the fifth season of his detective series, Luther; South Korea's foray into zombies and samurai are explored per the latest trailer from Netflix, Kingdom; after comedian Kevin Hart declined to host the Oscars once past anti LGBTQ comments resurfaced, fellow comedienne/talk show host, Ellen Degeneres is campaigning for his return to the gig; our impressions of the social media and/or black community fallout over the Surviving R. Kelly TV special (and is Drake next on that hit list?); Vulture magazine highlight 71 TV shows slated to be released in '19; a 180° twist has developed from the tragic killing of 7 year old Jazmine Barnes; hat tip to supporter, Qstorm, for this judge story and his critique on Black on Black killings; the late iconic underground comic creator, Harvey Pikar's final graphic novel series, Tales of the Music Makers might be the print version of Mike Judge's Tales From The Tour Bus. Lastly, what's up with the '19 Coachella Lineup? LIVE call in at 646-915-9620.
This week, we record two days early, so no Titans talk & the news about Daredevil being cancelled happened about an hour after we wrapped the episode, so all of that will be broken down next week. Rocky hangs up his gloves, Aquaman is tracking very well, Young Justice S3 got an awesome trailer & we rank our LEAST favorite Christmas songs. An iconic anime is also getting a live action Netflix series... listen to find out which show it is!!
