Welcome back to another episode of the Bearing Fruit podcast. In this week's episode we dive deeper into what it means to suffer as a Christian - more importantly why it is necessary to suffer. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that suffering can be extremely uncomfortable and painful. But in today's episode, we look at what the scripture says about suffering, why suffering is seen as a gift, and how we can steward our seasons of suffering well. There is no victory without a battle!

I'm back!! Welcome back to the Bearing Fruit podcast you guys! It's been a minute and I've honestly missed you guys so much - I'm so happy to back!! To get back into the year, I thought this would be a really fitting episode to jump back in with! In this week's episode, we get into how exactly we can fall in love with Jesus, especially in 2024. 2024 is the year of falling in love with him. And I can say that after trying out these ways of getting to know him on an intimate level, I definitely have become more obsessed with Jesus and so hungry for him. I also for the first time, share with you a challenge that I personally created, with some way personable ways to fall in love with Jesus. Basically, this is my version of the 75 Hard Challenge, and I guarantee you that by the end of the 75 days, you and Jesus are going to be on a whole new level of bestfriends! These ways are some of which that have truly strengthened my relationship, especially in the last couple of months and I can't recommend them enough. This is a long episode so get cozy and let's dive straight in❤️

Welcome back and Happy Podcast Day!!! I'm so excited for this week's episode as I have finally got our very first guest and my younger brother Robin on the show. Robin shares his non-linear journey with his faith and his battle with depression. He shares his first experience encountering depressive thoughts and moods, and how he went from hating God and embodying evil, to then later finding God's indescribable peace. Although this episode is a long one, I hope Robin's testimony will at least touch one person's heart. I hope you know that you are never too far into your pain, sin or unbelief for God to pull you out of the rubble. I do also want to share a disclaimer on this episode that we will be talking about mental health and suicide. If you are struggling, please do not face your battles alone. Hi everyone, and welcome back, or welcome to, the Bearing Fruit podcast. On this week's episode, we talk about how often as human beings, our feelings can play a role in our thoughts, words and deeds. But more specifically, how many of these thoughts, words and deeds, lead us straight to sin. Feelings are a beautiful gift from God. We are created as human beings who get to feel the same emotions Jesus himself once felt, and should never hinder, suppress, or reject this gift. However, sin can slowly make it's way when we act on feelings that cloud our judgement, or make us feel good temporarily. Personally, being a part of the mental health profession, it pains me to see the negative connotation that expressing your feelings can have. However, it pains me even more to see people react without a second thought, using their feelings as the basis of their actions. Walking by faith in-spite of my feelings, is something that has immensely shifted not only my perspective, but created such resilience in me that will not waiver. It's not easy placing faith before feelings, especially as reactive and subjective human beings, but, practicing this throughout my walk with Christ, has allowed me to face any challenge I am faced with, without any doubt that God will come through. Because if it's not good, then he's not finished.

So naturally, I asked you guys on Insta stories a few days ago on what your red flags are when dating as a Christian, and boy did you have some good responses - we get deep into it! Thank you for being so passionate about the Lord and not being afraid to speak up. I think when you get into a relationship, it's so easy to neglect your relationship with THE LORD, so I love that these red flags run true for you, and you are able to discern what it is that you will, and will not stand for!  I truly enjoyed this episode, and I hope you do too. Welcome back to another episode of the Bearing Fruit podcast.  In this week's episode we talk about the war within - the flesh vs. the spirit. A lot of people assume that when you start to give your life to Christ, life becomes “easier”; everything settles, and it's all sunshine and roses. So when they don't expect the war that begins when they give their life to Christ, they begin to blame God. You guys, let me make this as clear as it can possibly be. When you give your life to Christ, the enemy works overtime to ruin your life. The war within is a spiritual war that attacks your spirit, but feeds your flesh. When you live as the world lives, you feed your flesh, meaning your spirit already lies with the enemy, so your flesh no longer is in conflict with the spirit. However, when you give your spirit to Jesus, the flesh begins to fight. It tries to win every battle. However, scripture says, if you walk by the spirit, you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. It doesn't say you will never experience the desires of the flesh - but "gratify" the desires of the flesh. How about we get straight into this week's topic, as there is so much to unpack. Join me as I share more on this spiritual and never-ending war within.

I love talking about topics that make our flesh uncomfortable, because it means that we are on the right path to keeping our spirit pure. This week, we are going to be talking about taming the tongue. I didn't realise how many verses and mentions there are in the Bible about the power of the tongue. Our tongue has the power to either speak life or death, and it's so wild to see that this generation say whatever they want, whenever they want, and however they want without considering what they are actual speaking over themselves, or others. Don't get me wrong, I still very much struggle with what I allow my mouth to speak over, however, I am nowhere near what I used to say and do. This topic is one I wish our Church placed an emphasis over, as Proverbs 12:18 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Join me in this week's episode, as we learn about the power of our tongue, and the dangers of using it foolishly.

Happy Monday and Welcome back to another episode of the Bearing Fruit podcast. In this week's episode, we are going to be talking about inviting Jesus into our mundane. We all have gaps in between our celebratory, busy, and exciting daily lives that are deemed as the mundane. And 9 times out of 10, we just power through the mundane - sometimes with deep misery or even discontentment, and completely forget to invite Jesus into those gaps. In this week's episode I share how I have recently got into the habit of inviting Jesus into each mundane task of mine and my goodness has it just elevated all that I do (even washing dishes…I know). This is a great habit to start practicing, as it really strengthens your bond with him and most of all, he longs to be invited into every aspect of our lives. He's our bestfriend and father, so obviously he's going to want to be involved and immersed in all that we have to do, even if it seems mundane to us. I hope this episode can shift your perspective and I hope Jesus gets a front row seat in all that you do.

As much as this is not a common topic of conversation within the church, I believe it is so important to distinguish the works of the evil one and what is actually from the Lord. As the world spins, darkness becomes greater than ever before, which is why I believe when we are able to gain an understanding of these works, we are able to use discernment where necessary. I share the most common known works of the devil that the Bible highlights, what these look like in today's world, as well as how this world is now saved from these works, should we use to apply this form of salvation. This episode is not one that goes into specific detail of each and every work of the devil, however, I share my own take of how I see the works of the devil woven into today's world, and what the enemy's main motive is for humanity.

Society deems singleness to be this lonely, isolating, boring and unhappy season of life. When in actuality, it's this beautiful, freeing, joyous and exciting season of life. A season you get to grow in your personal relationship with God, a season where you get to learn more about yourself and about what you want in a life partner, and a season that builds you into be an individual who's not scared or uncomfortable in asking for what they want. Whether it be the pressures of friends, family, culture, or social media, just know that your singleness is a season of life God gets to create the most beautiful version of you. Don't hurry that process up because often times you can miss out on this beautiful gift. The older I have gotten, the more intentional I have become in who I share my company with. Although Paul warns the people of Corinth with this specific verse; bad company does corrupt good morals to this day, due to the fact that we still live in a fallen world. Join me as we talk about this verse from Paul, how bad fruit can ruin the whole branch, and the importance of having friends who are on fire for the Lord.

In this week's episode, we talk about how as Christians, we tend to become so comfortable in waiting on God - not all of the time of course, but we can get too comfortable and say "oh it's a part of God's plan, just waiting on him...". All of that might be true, but what if you've become too comfortable on waiting on God to make his move, that you totally miss out on God waiting on you. Your relationship with God should be this beautiful friendship and partnership. He will most definitely have the best plan for you, but what if there are times in your life that he has supplied all these resources for you to make your move, and you totally miss this incredible window of opportunity. Join me as I share my own experience of what this has looked like for me personally, and more specifically how to discern what is from God, and what is our voice in our head making decisions based on our own emotions and feelings.

In this week's episode we are going to be talking about the treacherous storms we go through in life, and how often times we feel as though Jesus is absent through these storms. I know for myself personally, I have questioned why God has allowed these hardships in my life, I have questioned whether anything good will even come out of this painful experience, and I have even at times, questioned if God is even real. The truth is, in hindsight, we understand why we go through certain trials, but what happens when you're going through a storm in the moment and you are on the verge of giving up all hope. In this episode, I share a story of an incredible man named Job in the Bible, who went through his very own storm, and I share the importance of keeping your eyes fixed on the Lord during these storms, because if we do even for a moment remove our eyes from the Lord, we could get swept away.

In this week's episode, we are going to be discussing anxiety, specifically, the root of anxiety and who exactly runs with it, what anxiety if not treated biblically, can do, my own experience of anxiety, what the Bible says about anxiety, and how to best treat these anxious thoughts. I have always wanted to speak on this topic, but I knew the Lord had to work in me first before I share my own take on this. I feel so blessed to know that I am delivered from something that had me on a chokehold for nearly a decade and now bows down to the creator of the universe. I know personally the stronghold anxiety can have on someone, which is why I believe that it is so important to tackle this struggle from the root and not just superficially. This is going to be a long one, so I hope you enjoy this episode and you are able to take away some form of Biblical wisdom that can aid you in tackling anxiety. In this week's episode, I share the cruel toxicity of hustle culture - a culture that has become so normalised and encouraged in today's society. The enemy is quick to shame you and guilt trip you if you don't have 15 things on your plate. If you're not doing enough, then you're not enough. These lies have controlled us for so long, that often times we do feel guilty if we take the day to rest and rejuvienate. But in this week's episode, I share the severe dangers of this toxic hustle culture, and the need for us human beings to always feel like we have to be doing something in order to be fulfilled. Although this culture may be dangerous, this does not mean we sit around and do nothing with this God given life. Have goals, chase your dreams, create your aspirations, and be driven in all that you do, but also, do not neglect the rest that our very own God modelled for us on the 7th day of creation. Join me as we dig deeper into this hustle culture, and why our bodies, minds, and souls so desperately need the rest.

To back up the conclusive findings of this episode, I seek wisdom from the Bible, as well as look deep into what it actually means to manifest something into existence. I share some concepts as to why manifestation goes heavily against Christianity and why this new aged belief goes against everything that the Lord calls us to do as Christians. It was not until a few years ago that I had come to realise the significance of this sin, and how easily it had creeped up in our current generation. Manifestation has now become not only popular, but normalised to the point where it blatantly disrespects our God. This price, that was an overpayment, is the only reason you and I have a chance to enter the gates of heaven. This price, that no gold or silver could buy, is the reason why death was defeated. This price, that cost Jesus his life, is the reason why the devil is working overtime to steal souls. Do not let this free gift be thrown in the wind. He died for you, knowing all the sins you were and are going to commit, yet, he still chose to lay down his life for you. He chose to free you from the bondage of sin so that you may have the chance to spend life after death with him. Join me in this week's episode as we talk about this beautiful, irreplaceable, and incomparable price.

As Christians we are called to represent Jesus in all that we do, and I don't think he complained even once, because he was perfect and lived a sinless life. We will never be perfect, but, we also don't want to be giving Satan the satisfaction of hearing us be miserable and bitter about our circumstances. Instead of complaining, let's practice gratitude. Instead of grumbling, let's practice living content. What's hard is maintaining this every single day. Are you a believer who represents Jesus every single day, or are you a believer who wears two masks throughout the week? It's easy to just read the Bible and think we know what the Lord wants for our life, but if you are not actively asking the Lord, or if you are not actively telling the Lord that you want your desire to align with his, that's when we can fall into the trap of the enemy. One of the enemy's biggest mind-games, is convincing us that this what the Lord wants for us. And there have been times in my life where I have fell for that lie, and the reason I have felt for it, is because I myself have never actually asked the Lord what HE wants for my life. It can be as simple as making an easy decision, or as simple as everyday tasks. But if we are not living in alignment with God's desires for our life, we can fall into the traps of the enemy. Welcome back and Happy 2023! Ahhhh it feels so good to be back! I hope everyone had a restful Christmas break! In this week's episode and the 1st episode of 2023, I give you guys a little update on my hiatus and what I envision for the Bearing Fruit podcast in 2023. Inclusive of that, we also discuss what it means to let go and let God. Specifically, the struggles of letting go, and why we don't want to let go, but how we want to let God do his thing in our lives. I share my very own experience of letting go and letting God, and share some reasons as to why you may be feeling hesitant to give the author of our lives, his pen back. I hope that this episode can help you understand that you need to allow God to take control of the wheel more often. I know it's easier said than done, but I want to encourage you that it is possible. And once you do, chains will be broken and the load becomes a lot lighter.

Because not everyone is going to like us in this world, not everyone will say something kind, and not everyone cares about our feelings...so how should we respond? How do we as Christians not strike back, but also not give the enemy the power to offend us. One thing I wish I told my younger self was that, hurt people hurt people, and most of the time, offensive comments that are made at you has more to do with the person who said it, than you. Growing in our faith includes asking God the tough questions. Including the why's however, there is a fine line between asking the Lord questions, and insisting on answers. Most of the time, we are so eager to ask God "why is this happening" or "why did you remove these people out of my life" or "why did I have such a bad day" or "why is there so much injustice in this world"...I mean the list is never-ending. And it is okay to ask the Lord these questions, but, you have to be careful as to whether these questions will push you closer to God, or drive you away from him. You see, the sad part of heartbreak is that it is inevitable. We have or are going to experience it eventually, but how do you actually deal with it? Well, the most incredible aspect of heartbreak for us Christians is that, Jesus went through the very same pain. He experienced rejection, betrayal in its worst forms, neglect, sorrow, grief...I mean he wept when he lost his friend. And on the other side of this pain, the very same God has promised us comfort. He has promised us safety, reassurance, warmth, love and compassion. Join me in a very raw and fragile conversation about heartbreak, and see what the Lord says about it all.

Welcome back to another episode. This week we are going to be talking about what it means to live free. I'm not just talking about temporary and worldly free living. I'm talking about experiencing true and pure freedom. I always thought that Christians never experienced freedom due to the amount of do's and don't's that are prefaced in the Bible. But boy was I wrong. Since following Christ, I finally understood what the term "freedom" meant. I experience this euphoric feeling everyday knowing that Jesus has already paid it all. He set me free. Join me in today's episode as I share some beautiful ways in which I have been set free, and what it means to live freely. There's no better feeling than realising that Jesus has already gone through it all to set you free from whatever may be currently holding you bondage.

Welcome back to this week's episode! Today we are going to be talking about the emotional and physical exhaustion we feel when we have reached that point of weariness. Have you ever prayed for something that God is still yet to answer? Or asked God why this keeps happening to you? Or felt like you are just constantly tired of the world's demands? If so, who or what is your first point of contact when you do feel this way? What is that helps you to sooth your cries and exhaustion? You see, so often we let the Lord become our last resort. We end up struggling with this feeling of tiredness for months due to the fact that we lean on worldly desires for temporary fixes. But do you know that the Lord wants you to come to him when you are weak and weary, because he has promised to give you rest?! Negative thoughts… oh geez! This is definitely something that I can attest to, and something that I am well aware everyone struggles with. Negative thinking patterns are so difficult to combat and overcome because of how second nature it is. We were raised and continue to live in a sinful and destructive world, so it's no surprise that are minds come up with these disparaging thoughts, which we later believe. In this week's episode, I share some common negative thought patterns that we struggle with, and what we ourselves can do to overcome it. To understand our negative thoughts, we need to identify it. Once identified, we need to trace back our steps and discover what it was that influenced or fed that negative thought. And once we recognise the harmful influences in our life, we take it captive with the word of God.

Welcome back to another week of the Bearing Fruit podcast. In today's episode, I bounce of my last episode and share some daily habits, tips and tricks that I implement in my daily life for me to be able to maintain and strengthen my relationship with the Lord. It's one thing to start a relationship with the Lord, but it's another to really sustain and water that relationship in order for it to flourish and grow. It's important with any other relationship in your life, to nurture your personal relationship with the Lord. You don't need to be a perfect and whole person to have this beautiful relationship with the Lord. He just wants you to come as you are, and that has really helped me to put things into perspective and motivates me to better my connection with him. Join me in this week's episode, as I share some useful daily habits that I have implemented in my daily life that has helped me immensely, to grow my relationship with God.

For so long I grew up with Christianity being the back bone of my life. However, I didn't actually begin my relationship with the Lord until I turned 21. I think it's very important for me as a podcaster, someone who every week shares experiences and talks about real life troubles, to also share why I believe what I believe. I don't want to come across as someone who is perfect or someone who has always followed the Lord. I want to have a raw and open conversation as to why I speak on the topics I speak on, and why I chose to follow Christ in the first place. I know at least for me, if there was someone sharing advice and providing guidance for tough seasons, I would want to know why they believe what they believe in the first place. So if you know me personally, or you just listen to my podcast, I want you to know my origin story. Because it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. Although this is far from a testimony, which I may share one day, I just want to share with you why I believe in Christ.

Welcome back to this week's episode! This week, we are going to be talking about pain…. Yuck! I know! But what if I told you that there was actually purpose behind your pain?… Yep, that's right! There is in fact a purpose behind those painful experiences you have been through and you continue to go through. In this episode, we look to what James says about trying times and how those painful experiences heightens your senses, and how you eventually have a greater awareness of gratitude and hope. There is so much that pain teaches you, and we are going to be discussing a few key elements that can actually be used as a valuable asset. I personally am so grateful for ALL of my painful experiences and would never regret going through them. Every time it teaches me something new, most of the time the pain actually protects me, and best of all, I end up realising how strong I actually am!

I share the meaning of divine grace, what the Lord requires of you for you to be able to receive that grace, and how exactly you can receive that grace. Grace is a beautiful and unconditional love that has no limits, and one we are so undeserving of. Without grace, we wouldn't be where we are. Because of the Lord's mercy, we are given another chance. It's time for you and I to get back to grace my friends. Join me in a very chaotic but meaningful episode where we talk about this beautiful thing called grace.

Are you a people-pleaser who is constantly drained by trying to seek constant validation and approval from human beings? Well, I used to live that life and boy was it a very sad one! I was the ultimate people-pleaser who would do anything to gain praise and approval from others at the expense of my own happiness, beliefs, values and morals. I would do anything people asked me to because if it made them happy, then I guess I was too? Well, that couldn't be further from the truth. I gave up the people-pleaser life a year ago and oh my goodness did my world just turn upside down! A lot of people weren't used to me standing up for what I believed in. In-fact, they probably had never heard me say no ever, and boy did it ruffle some feathers. But the moment I stopped seeking validation and approval from human beings, who might I add are literal dust, and started to seek approval and was only interested in pleasing the Lord, I attained this new found level of freedom that I had never in my life experienced before. Sure, I might have lost some people along the way, lost some respect from strangers but I am not about to live the one life God gave me to pursue approval from the world. If you are on the same boat, I want you to know that it is so normal to feel this way, but also that it is totally possible to break free from the bondage of people-pleasing. Join me in this week's episode to hear a few of my experiences and what it did for me, as well as what the Bible has to say about the dangers of people-pleasing.

Welcome back to this week's episode where we discuss this crippling fear, also known as Imposter Syndrome? I'm sure every one of you at some point in your life, have felt this anxiety or have gone through this psychological thought process of unworthiness, or inadequacy despite our successful abilities. This crippling fear that feeds you lies of your incompetence, if you're not careful, can run your lives and dictate your future. Many of us due to Imposter Syndrome, fail to chase our dreams and follow our goals. In this week's episode, I share with you the Lord's antidote to this fear. We also reflect on a famous story in the Bible, where we witness one of Jesus' disciples also being struck with Imposter Syndrome. I also share with you some of my own personal experiences and what could have come of it, had I listened to the enemy's lies.

When someone does us wrong, our immediate innate and human response is to play tit for tat by either holding a grudge or treating them back just as they treated us. How then, do we follow the goodness of God if we can't even bless our enemies? Blessing our enemies doesn't necessarily mean that we are asking the Lord to bless them with a new car, or a new job... but instead blessing our enemies can involve the hand of the Lord on them opening their eyes to the wrong they did us. Blessing our enemies therefore, allows a way for the Lord to work. If we were to right our wrongs ourselves, we will end up living miserable lives. After all, the Lord has said that vengeance is his and he will repay. So let's our do our part by blessing our enemies and showing them the love of Jesus through us. It's definitely not easy, but the Lord has instructed us his children, to overcome evil with good. So lets trust that he will give us the strength to bless and love our enemies.

He is not here, he is risen! What exciting news for us Christians! Jesus' resurrection is proof that death is not the end for us. There is life beyond death and the resurrection of Jesus had to occur to fulfil this prophecy. In this week's episode, we discuss the importance of this incredible event that took place following the crucifixion of Christ. Jesus' death washed us of our sins, but his death would have meant nothing if he remained dead. His death played an integral role in the resurrection and it is because of his resurrection we can live hopeful. God planned this perfectly. As we grieved the death of our saviour on Good Friday, the stone was being rolled away on Easter Sunday. Jesus is well and truly alive, and because he lives, we are free.

As we enter the week of Good Friday and Easter, we remember the most beautiful, most greatest sacrificial love, the death of Jesus. In this week's episode, we reflect on this amazing and life-saving event that occurred, just so that you and I could be saved. We reflect on this victory that occurred when Jesus the Son of Man defeated death. Although this was a powerful and life-saving death, we can't forget the pain and the suffering that Jesus took upon that cross for our sake. He bore the pain of the whole entire world just so that we can be free from sin and damnation. Join me on this week's second episode of the Easter series as we discuss this life-changing event that a sinless and perfect man took upon himself. He died so that we may live.

Temptation is one of the hardest struggles that mankind faces. Temptation when succumbed to, leads us to sin that corrupts our world, giving the enemy exactly what he wants. This week's episode is our first Easter episode, and we discuss the story of Jesus who too was also tempted by the devil. We dissect what it means to be tempted and the nature of temptation. It's so easy for the enemy to tempt us when we are at our weakest, which is why it is so important to have the Lord by your side during those weak moments. Join me as we chat about some personal experiences of temptation that I too have faced, as well as some easy and practical ways to overcome temptation. One thing to remember however, is when we fall into temptation and sin, the Lord is so quick to forgive. His mercies are new every morning!

The Bible can seem like an overwhelming book to start studying, and you may feel like there's certain rules and methods of how you should study the Bible. However, there is no such thing as studying the Bible in a correct way. Delving into the Lord's word and getting to communicate with him through the Bible, is a very personal and intimate form of communication, that is so moulded to your very own relationship with the Lord. In this week's episode, I share a few suggestions of how you could get started reading and studying the Word of God if you are a beginner, as well as how I study the Bible, and explain the importance of having this Holy Book, as your greatest weapon and guide to living a joyous life.
