TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. For us believers, death is not an end of life but the point of transition from this transient world to eternity. Hence, in death, we transit from the temporary state of life to the eternal state of life. In today's celebration, we celebrate the hope we share in the resurrection of the dead as their death does not imply their annihilation but their transition into eternity. We therefore support them with our prayers today that they may all share in the eternal glory of God like all the saints. For our NINE-DAY-BEGINNING OF THE MONTH INTENSIVE PRAYERS AND NOVENA kindly pray your daily Rosary with Philippians 4:4-9; Psalms 94, 103 and 126 from Wednesday 1st to Thursday 9th November, 2023.    Kindly listen to today's episode of my podcast for details of today's homily.                                                                                                 Please follow, subscribe to, like, share and comment on our YouTube channel and Facebook page   @ Eternal Word of Life Ministry-#FadaPeterBenson, our Facebook, Instagram, Blog and Twitter @ FadaPeterBenson and our website @ https://ewlm.org.                                                                                                                                                                  Be assured of my prayers and blessings always.                                                                                                                              @FadaPeterBenson                                                                                                               @Eternal Word of Life Ministry-#FadaPeterBenson                                                                                               @https://ewlm.org

I place the future in the Hands of God. Today's idea takes another step toward quick salvation, and a giant stride it is indeed! So great the distance is that it encompasses, it sets you down just short of Heaven, with the goal in sight and obstacles behind. Your foot has reached the lawns that welcome you to Heaven's gate; the quiet place of peace, where you await with certainty the final step of God. How far are we progressing now from earth! How close are we approaching to our goal! How short the journey still to be pursued! Accept today's idea, and you have passed all anxiety, all pits of hell, all blackness of depression, thoughts of sin, and devastation brought about by guilt. Accept today's idea, and you have released the world from all imprisonment by loosening the heavy chains that locked the door to freedom on it. You are saved, and your salvation thus becomes the gift you give the world, because you have received. In no one instant is depression felt, or pain experienced or loss perceived. In no one instant sorrow can be set upon a throne, and worshipped faithfully. In no one instant can one even die. And so each instant given unto God in passing, with the next one given Him already, is a time of your release from sadness, pain and even death itself. God holds your future as He holds your past and present. They are one to Him, and so they should be one to you. Yet in this world, the temporal progression still seems real. And so you are not asked to understand the lack of sequence really found in time. You are but asked to let the future go, and place it in God's Hands. And you will see by your experience that you have laid the past and present in His Hands as well, because the past will punish you no more, and future dread will now be meaningless. Release the future. For the past is gone, and what is present, freed from its bequest of grief and misery, of pain and loss, becomes the instant in which time escapes the bondage of illusions where it runs its pitiless, inevitable course. Then is each instant which was slave to time transformed into a holy instant, when the light that was kept hidden in God's Son is freed to bless the world. Now is he free, and all his glory shines upon a world made free with him, to share his holiness. If you can see the lesson for today as the deliverance it really is, you will not hesitate to give as much consistent effort as you can, to make it be a part of you. As it becomes a thought that rules your mind, a habit in your problem-solving repertoire, a way of quick reaction to temptation, you extend your learning to the world. And as you learn to see salvation in all things, so will the world perceive that it is saved. What worry can beset the one who gives his future to the loving Hands of God? What can he suffer? What can cause him pain, or bring experience of loss to him? What can he fear? And what can he regard except with love? For he who has escaped all fear of future pain has found his way to present peace, and certainty of care the world can never threaten. He is sure that his perception may be faulty, but will never lack correction. He is free to choose again when he has been deceived; to change his mind when he has made mistakes. Place, then, your future in the Hands of God. For thus you call the memory of Him to come again, replacing all your thoughts of sin and evil with the truth of love. Think you the world could fail to gain thereby, and every living creature not respond with healed perception? Who entrusts himself to God has also placed the world within the Hands to which he has himself appealed for comfort and security. He lays aside the sick illusions of the world along with his, and offers peace to both. Now are we saved indeed. For in God's Hands we rest untroubled, sure that only good can come to us. If we forget, we will be gently reassured. If we accept an unforgiving thought, it will be soon replaced by love's reflection. And if we are tempted to attack, we will appeal to Him Who guards our rest to make the choice for us that leaves temptation far behind. No longer is the world our enemy, for we have chosen that we be its Friend.- Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 194

Johanna Bard Richlin, Anthropology and 2020–21 Faculty Research Fellow. Why do migrants become more deeply evangelical in the United States and how does this religious identity alter their self-understanding? In the Hands of God examines this question through a unique lens, foregrounding the ways that churches transform what migrants feel. Drawing from her extensive fieldwork among Brazilian migrants in the Washington, DC, area, Johanna Bard Richlin shows that affective experience is key to comprehending migrants' turn toward intense religiosity, and their resulting evangelical commitment. The conditions of migrant life—family separation, geographic isolation, legal precariousness, workplace vulnerability, and deep uncertainty about the future—shape specific affective maladies, including loneliness, despair, and feeling stuck. These feelings in turn trigger novel religious yearnings. Evangelical churches deliberately and deftly articulate, manage, and reinterpret migrant distress through affective therapeutics, the strategic “healing” of migrants' psychological pain. Richlin offers insights into the affective dimensions of migration, the strategies pursued by evangelical churches to attract migrants, and the ways in which evangelical belonging enables migrants to feel better, emboldening them to improve their lives. Looking at the ways evangelical churches help migrants navigate negative emotions, In the Hands of God sheds light on the versatility and durability of evangelical Christianity.

Basic Training Bible Ministries

Does God really have hands? No. God, is Spirit. This is an anthropomorphism, a big word. That just means we ascribe human qualities to God in order to better understand Him. You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their hands. You can tell if the person is young or old, male or female. You can tell if they have an office job or if they do manual labor. The hands of a surgeon look different from the hands of a mechanic. In John 1:1, it says, "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. John 1:14 says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we be held His glory, glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." The hands of Jesus, show us His humanity as He entered public ministry. They became the hands of a miracle worker. Hands that turned water into wine, open the ears of the death and the eyes of the blind healed the sick, the lame, and the lepers. The hands of Jesus show us His deity. And though His hands were the hands of deity, they were also the hands of a humble servant. Hands that welcomed the little children, said the hungry and humbly wash the feet of His disciples. "Jesus came not to be served, but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many." In the garden of Gethsemani, His hands were first hands of prayer until the betrayer arrived, bringing the soldiers with them. His hands did not resist, but lay idle by His side as he was unjustly arrested, beaten and scorched. Finally, heavy nails were driven into the hands of God at the crucifixion, holding Him to a cross that he did not deserve to pay for sins that He did not commit. The hands of the Savior, the hands of Messiah, are hands that now reach out to us with the offer of life abundant, free and eternal. As we turn to Jesus Christ in faith, trusting Him for our salvation, we enter into a relationship with our Lord and we come under the care of His almighty hands. This is a relationship that can never be broken because no one and no thing can snatch us out of His mighty grip. Isaiah 64:8 and Psalm 92:4 says "We should sing with joy at the work of His hands, hands of faithfulness. "Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the sun of her womb? Even those may forget, but I will not forget. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands. Your name. My name inscribed on the palms of God's hands." Isaiah 49:15-16. His hands are hands of help, the hands of a caregiver. "Behold, the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save. Neither is his ear so dull that it cannot hear." Isaiah 59:1. "Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him because he cares for you." 1st Peter 5:6. His hands are. Hands of friendship. Hands of fellowship. "The steps of a man are established by the Lord and he delights in his way when He falls. He shall not be hurled headlong because the Lord is the one who holds His hand." Psalm 37:23-24. His hands are hands of protection, though I walk in the midst of trouble. You will revive me. You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies. And your right hand will save me. Psalm 138 seven. In the shadow of his hand, he has hidden me. And he has also made me a select arrow. He has hidden me in his quiver. Isaiah 49:2. This indicates that each one of us are an arrow kept hidden in the quiver of God. Until the time that His skillful hand draws us into His bow to send us out to impact a time and a place ordained by Him, ordained for His glory and His aim is sure. In other verses, the Bible calls the hands of God mighty valiant, righteous, strong, holy, glorious and good. And understanding these qualities should cause us to shout with David the words of Psalm 31, "As for me, I trust in you, a Lord. I say, you are my God. My times are in your hands." And we do live in perilous times. What a comfort to know that our times are in the mighty glorious and good hands of God. These are the hands of God that worked invisibly behind the scenes in the days of Esther. And these are the hands that work invisibly behind the scenes in your life and my life today, long ago, centuries ago. Today, the hand of God is working in your life to write your story, the part your life is to play in his wonderful plan. That story can only be written in time. But the glory of that story will last for all of eternity. Commit your life, therefore, into the mighty hands of God.

Stand on this truth: There is nothing you are facing today that God is unaware of. There is nothing you are struggling with that God can't handle. He is able to help you with anything you are dealing with.Main Points:1. Remember that the same hands that created the universe and keeps it perfectly orbiting around the sun, keeps you saved, safe and secure in his Son.2.

In the Hands of God: How Evangelical Belonging Transforms Migrant Experience in the United States by Johanna Bard Richlin How evangelical churches in the United States convert migrant distress into positive religious devotion Why do migrants become more deeply evangelical in the United States and how does this religious identity alter their self-understanding? In the Hands of God examines this question through a unique lens, foregrounding the ways that churches transform what migrants feel. Drawing from her extensive fieldwork among Brazilian migrants in the Washington, DC, area, Johanna Bard Richlin shows that affective experience is key to comprehending migrants' turn toward intense religiosity, and their resulting evangelical commitment. The conditions of migrant life―family separation, geographic isolation, legal precariousness, workplace vulnerability, and deep uncertainty about the future―shape specific affective maladies, including loneliness, despair, and feeling stuck.

Closing Session - "Place the Future in the Hands of God" Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances XuYou know, no matter what, we can't even judge what is good and what's bad because all our judgments are based on perception. That is such a profound, universal lesson, which says. No, only in God, can we find true peace. When Jesus says, "What do you want freedom of the body or freedom of the mind for both you cannot have and whichever you choose, the other will have to serve." So if we choose the freedom of the body the mind will have to serve to find how to get freedom for the body and as Jesus describes it, in that process, the mind becomes extremely mad. The only true service is to use the body to serve the freedom of the mind, which means that we place our future in the hands of God.Enjoy David and Frances's closing session of the "Place the Future in the Hands of God" Online Retreat. Opening Session - Place the Future in the Hands of God Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances XuWhen you put your future in the hands of God and begin to live by inner guidance in the present moment, it can feel quite foolish at the beginning because our past conditioning is hammering harshly away at us. "What do you think you are? This is ridiculous, and you're throwing your whole life away for God, the great question mark the ego says. The ego won't even admit that there is a God, and if it has to admit that there is a God, it's a punishing God. It throws a fake God in there. So it's pretty interesting now we're going into this Place the Future in the Hands of God Retreat, that we need each other to reflect miracles. We're mighty companions to one another. We're witnesses to one another's miracles and how God is helping us. The Holy Spirit's presence is a burning, intense calling to wake us up, and we only have to join our little willingness to this burning, intense calling to wake up, and that will ignite the whole thing; that's what's sends the whole thing off into an actual experience.Enjoy David and Frances extending their love and presence to everyone, primarily the participant, who engage with them. You can watch the beginning of the session here on YouTube.https://youtu.be/5ymDln4Ke7c.If you are interested to know more about David Hoffmeister and Living Miracles events, here is more information: https://circle.livingmiraclescenter.org/events.Recorded on April 1, 2022, at La Casa Quantico, Chapala, Mexico.
