A video of the band playing Highwire Tightrope at teh BBC Introducing Studio in Bristol.
An exciting evening as the the boys go to BBC Bristol to do a live session for the Introducing team. It sould be aired in the middle of February. Stay tuned.
The boys can't decide what songs to play at their forthcoming BBC Live session so commission a survey to be completed by the fans.
The boys chat about getting their music on iTunes and a couple of ways of doing that. A quick chat about a new song in practice too.
The 3 E.P.s project is done and dusted and the band plan a new venture for 2012! Not to be missed!
The band are joined by members of This Is The Kit and Rozi Plain for an impromptu and frankly rather scrappy rendition of a popular Christmas song.
The band have a quick practice at Ieuan's before a show at the Hillgrove Porter Stores.
Ieu and Hec go to Bath to check out the markets and encounter a few interesting musical acts. Maybe they could inspire a new musical performance direction.
Dave, founder, leader and comrade of Arstscare Records talks about the label and how he plans to turn it into more of a management/PR vehicle to fit a rapidly changing music industry. He discusses his thoughts on the DIY ethic and how far it can and can't take a band.
Ieuan chats about the blog being 26 episodes old with a little sneak peek at some of the launch footage.
Ieuan and Hector chat through the production line for the Purple EP.
The E.P. is all finished and the artwork for the insert needs to be done.
A brand new video and a brand new song from the forthcoming Purple E.P. Shot in Croatia on the Island of Krk...
The band are hard at work mixing the Purple E.P. Featuring a live performance in the Louisiana basement of Highwire/Tightrope, we have a look around the things in Hector's house. See previous blog episodes for how HW/TR was written.
The band begin recording vocals for a track on the Purple E.P.at Hector's house. They use an MXL 2003 although the next day decide that the sound is too bright and switch to an MXL 990
The boys start home recording their new E.P. (at Hector's office). They record it themselves with Hector's gear and the band talk through how they have set up.
Hector talks us through some of his most interesting pedals - SERIOUS PEDAL FANATICS ONLY (any other interested parties are welcome to watch, but naturally at your own risk!)
Ieuan creates his first ever storyboard using some atrocious drawings. The video will show the story of what happens when infants create robots. The song playing underneath is an instrumental loud version of an acoustic song previously deputed on the blog.
The band are on holiday and take the opportunity to shoot some footage for their next music video. Ieuan talks about recording and begins some editing. Dan gets a hole in ome.
Ieuan describes how he works on ideas using a loop pedal and a mobile phone.

The band bump into Bristol music institution Big Jeff after completing an interview for Drunken Werewolf Magazine. Jeff reveals the naked rock fantasies of Dave, the manager of Artscare Records. They go to The Old Duke for an open mic night where they see AILO KOBAYASI (twitter.com/ailomusiq)sing in Japanese and Big Jeff do some beat poetry. A fun way to spend a tuesday evening.
In which the band do a much-needed rehaul of the website to get this very blog on it. Go check it out - www.bravobravebats.com
Ieuan takes a look at the finances - or rather lack of - of the band. The song Wagons playing underneath is from the Green EP and has a fitting theme to the financial aspect of being in a band.
The band chat about playing gigs on boats and where to record and launch the next ep. Ieuan sees Rob Da Bank has a competition on Twitter to write a song entitled "Living in a Watering Can" and composes an entry. #asonginsevenhours
The band go up to london midweek to play at Proud, Camden. Traffic trouble and a half empty room don't help but it's still fun gigging.
As introduced in Episode 4, here's the finished video. Please go to http://apps.facebook.com/greenpoll/index/band/id/477 to vote for this video in The Green Man Festival competition. Cheers, BBB
This song couldn't be any newer. This is its first ever proper run through. It's rough but it might end up being good.
Hector shows off our home from home - the practice space. Featuring open sewers and collapsing ceilings. That's actually not too much of an exaggeration.
The band prepare for playing Dot to Dot festival. A bit of waiting around and sound checking.
Some notes on our newest song which isn't quite finished yet. Your thoughts are most welcome. Email band@bravobravebats.com ;
The band do lots and lots of running in shooting a new music video in locations across the city. Ieuan has built a homemade fig-rig to aid the filming process. The song playing is an old demo we made that has since been abandoned and used for spare parts.
The band travel to The Rhythm Factory, Whitechapel for a gig on a Thursday night. There aren't many people there but we were filmed for a website - links to follow when available. ;
Working acoustically on a new song together provisionally entitled Tightrope/Highwire along with details of a new microphone.
