Symbolically, fasting is an act of sacrifice, in which one sacrifices food and hunger to God as a mark of devotion and surrender. Fasting purifies the mind, controls passion and the senses, and checks emotions. But, when it comes to cancer, Fasting may reduce glucose levels in the blood, making it harder for cancers to grow. Cancer cells feed on glucose, consuming it at a much higher level than normal cells do. During fasting, one-way cells try to conserve energy is by making it easier for cell membranes to metabolize insulin. Let us understand more science behind it and know more about it. Hope this helps. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that has been in use in the United States since the early 1980s. It is used in many foods and beverages because it is much sweeter than sugar, so much less of it can be used to give the same level of sweetness. Aspartame is commonly used as a tabletop sweetener, as a sweetener in prepared foods and beverages, and in recipes that don't require too much heating (since heat breaks down aspartame). It can also be found as a flavoring in some medicines, chewing gums, and toothpaste. IARC, the cancer research agency of the WHO, classifies aspartame as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B). Based on limited evidence it might cause cancer (specifically liver cancer) in people. artificial sweeteners really harm so much? What is the truth behind it? Let us understand in this episode. Resistance can occur when cancer cells—even a small group of cells within a tumor—contain molecular changes that make them insensitive to a particular drug before treatment even begins. Because cancer cells within the same tumor often have a variety of molecular changes, this so-called intrinsic resistance is common. Lets learn more about this in this episode. See you soon. Jai Hind
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a medical condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein. These clots usually develop in the lower leg, thigh, or pelvis, but they can also occur in the arm. Sometimes the DVT will break off and go to the lungs. This is called a pulmonary embolism (PE). Cancer patients, especially cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy, have a much higher risk of DVT than other people. Patients with brain, pancreatic, stomach, and lung cancers are at the highest risk. We have discussed this in detail and I'm sure it'll help people in need. See you soon. Jai Hind
Not everyone with cancer may have cancer pain, but some do. If you have cancer that's spread or recurred, the chance of having pain is higher. Cancer pain takes many forms. It can be dull, achy, sharp or burning. It can be constant, intermittent, mild, moderate or severe. How much pain one feels depends on a number of factors, including the type of cancer one has, how advanced it is, where it's situated and one's pain tolerance. Pain can be caused by the cancer itself. Pain could happen if the cancer grows into or destroys nearby tissue. As a tumor grows, it can press on nerves, bones or organs. The tumor can also release chemicals that can cause pain. Listen to this interesting episode where we have demystified a few assumptions and clarified several aspects of cancer pain. Hope this helps.
