Use "State proofing or maximum appropriate non-cooperation where the State seeks to co-opt ... any non-State actor." That is the advice from Sakeliga CEO Piet le Roux following the latest milestone victory in its fight against the implementation of the NHI Act. "Where the State seeks to co-opt you into an ideological scheme that is clearly harmful, clearly unacceptable, offer the least possible cooperation you can, but do this judicially, do it judiciously, of course," he urges. "There are sometimes risks in not cooperating with the State, but wherever unethical demands that are harmful to society, that are unlawful, that are unconstitutional, are made, I think it's also an ethical duty on people to offer the least possible cooperation." Le Roux describes how useful public interest litigation by Sakeliga and other parties has been. "On all of those cases where we've also achieved good court victories, we have decreased the harms that would have been affected on businesses and on society and on communities, local and nationally."

At the end of January, Trump's Justice Department released what it said was the last tranche of the Epstein files: millions of pages of emails and texts, F.B.I. documents and court records. Much was redacted and millions more pages have been withheld. There is a lot we want to know that remains unclear.But what has come into clear view is the role Epstein played as a broker of information, connections, wealth and women and girls for a slice of the global elite. This was the infrastructure of Epstein's power — and it reveals much about the infrastructure of elite networks more generally.Anand Giridharadas is something of a sociologist of American elites. He's the author of, among other books, “Winners Take All: The Elite Charade of Changing the World” and the forthcoming “Man in the Mirror: Hope, Struggle and Belonging in an American City.” He also publishes the great newsletter The.Ink.Back in November, after the release of an earlier batch of Epstein files, Giridharadas wrote a great Times Opinion guest essay, taking a sociologist's lens to the messages Epstein exchanged with his elite friends. So after the government released this latest, enormous tranche of materials, I wanted to talk to Giridharadas to help make sense of it. At the Warfare Wednesday Service, Pastor Femi Paul led the church in a powerful time of prayer with an exhortation themed Evil Plots and Schemes. We gained clarity that evil plots are deliberate and calculated schemes designed to harm, frustrate progress, or engineer downfall, often fuelled by envy, jealousy, and wicked intent. However, Scripture reassures us that though evil schemes are imagined, they will not succeed against God's people. Using Joshua 6 and Nehemiah 4, we were reminded that what appears locked, shut, or fortified against us has already been handed over by God. No one is permitted to lock us out of blessings God has released, or deny us access to prosperity, promotion, or change of status ordained by Him. While personal prayer is powerful, corporate warfare carries guaranteed results, levelling every evil plot, plan, scheme, and attack as we counter them through united prayer. Confession: Every evil plot and scheme against me is levelled. I walk freely into every blessing God has given me.
