Breaking Free from the Old Gods: The Spiritual War Behind the World System | KIB545 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing DESCRIPTION What if many things modern believers consider normal are actually remnants of a world system from which Christ has called us to separate? In Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Episode 545, Dr. Michael Lake and Mary Lou Lake examine the continuing spiritual battle between the Kingdom of God and the systems of this world. Beginning with the influence of ancient Greek and Roman culture and moving deeply into the Apostle Paul's teaching in Ephesians, this episode challenges the Remnant to recognize just how thoroughly the ways of the old world can become embedded in culture, religion, education, tradition, and everyday life. Dr. Lake focuses particularly on Ephesians 2:1–3, where Paul describes three interconnected dimensions of humanity's former bondage: the world, the devil, and the flesh. But Paul does not leave believers there. Christ has been raised above every ruler and authority, and those who belong to Him have been called into an entirely different Kingdom and way of life. This leads directly into the spiritual warfare of Ephesians 6. The believer's struggle is not merely against bad ideas, political systems, cultural movements, or human opponents. Paul identifies principalities, authorities, cosmic powers over this present darkness, and spiritual forces of evil. The enemy continually schemes to entangle believers in the very system from which Christ delivered them. That makes TRUTH indispensable. The armor of God does not begin with emotionalism, religious excitement, or spiritual spectacle. It begins with the belt of truth. Dr. Lake explains why believers cannot merely SAY that they are putting on the armor of God. The armor must become a lived spiritual reality through obedience, sanctification, prayer, faith, and the renewing of the mind through the Word of God. This episode also examines: ·      The continuing influence of Greek and Roman religious ideas on Western civilization ·      Ancient gods, principalities, and the spiritual warfare behind human systems ·      Why Paul was uniquely prepared to confront Greco-Roman culture with biblical truth ·      Ephesians 2:1–3 and the world, the flesh, and the prince of the power of the air ·      Why Christ's authority is greater than every principality and power ·      How cultural traditions can pull believers back toward the world system ·      Why true biblical Christianity will never comfortably conform to darkness ·      The spiritual meaning of the armor of God ·      Why spiritual warfare is an ongoing wrestling match ·      Emotionalism versus genuine conversion and transformation ·      Why forgiveness is essential in breaking the enemy's influence ·      Torah as the loving instruction of God ·      Jesus as the perfect example of walking in the Father's ways ·      The brazen laver, the altar, and becoming a living sacrifice ·      Why the Remnant must learn again to discern clean from unclean and good from evil ·      How believers can begin disentangling themselves from the world system one decision at a time The early Church could not be conquered by persecution because believers possessed the Scriptures, the testimony of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Dr. Lake argues that abandoning the biblical foundations of the faith has left much of the modern Church unable to discern good from evil and vulnerable on the spiritual battlefield. The answer is not fear. The answer is a return to God. Every time we choose God's ways instead of the ways of the world, another strand connecting us to the world system is broken. Every act of obedience removes another avenue through which darkness attempts to influence our lives. The Kingdom of God is coming. Daniel 2:44 declares that God will establish a Kingdom that will never be destroyed. Revelation 11:15 announces: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever." And that Kingdom can begin reigning within the hearts and lives of God's people RIGHT NOW. The Remnant must prepare. It is time to hunger for the Word of God again. It is time to learn His ways. It is time to recognize the schemes of the enemy. It is time to become disentangled from the world system. And it is time to walk as citizens of the Kingdom of God. Somebody in Quincy, Illinois just became insanely rich, somebody else allegedly treated a Morgan Wallen concert like his own personal bathroom, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's Rizzuto Show. The crew kicks things off with the massive Powerball jackpot and the one winning ticket sold in Quincy, Illinois. Naturally, instead of simply congratulating this newly minted billionaire and moving along like mature adults, we immediately start spending their money for them. Lump sum or annuity? Buy an island or stay in the same house? Disappear forever or become the richest tractor enthusiast in the Midwest? This funny podcast tackles all the responsible financial questions that absolutely nobody should trust us to answer.Moon also wonders whether the mystery winner could somehow be his cousin, which leads to dreams of farmland, giant gardens, tractors, demolition derby cars and the kind of billionaire lifestyle that says, “Yes, I have generational wealth, but I still know how to fix this carburetor.”Then things take a hard turn. And by “hard turn,” we mean the kind of conversational detour only The Rizzuto Show could make.We get an update on Michael Phillips, the North Carolina man who previously went viral for openly discussing his micropenis condition and is now preparing for an enhancement procedure. Rizz actually donated to the crowdfunding campaign, because apparently this show occasionally uses its powers for good between making every possible inappropriate joke about the situation. From there, welcome to The Urine Chronicles. The man accused of urinating on seated concertgoers during a Morgan Wallen show has finally been arrested, reopening one of the great philosophical debates of our time: what exactly are you legally, morally and spiritually allowed to do when a stranger starts peeing on you? Rizz has some thoughts. Rafe has some extremely specific defensive strategies. Lern consults the internet. Moon attempts to introduce reason into the discussion, which—as longtime listeners know—is usually where everything goes wrong. There's also a trip through history as the crew marks the anniversary of the Berlin Wall going up, complete with escape stories, Moon's memories of visiting Berlin and the historically impeccable reminder that David Hasselhoff personally brought the whole thing down. Please do not cite this funny podcast in your dissertation. Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, featuring Diddy's prison update and a debate over whether celebrities can ever truly become untouchable after major scandals. The crew gets into Ozzy Osbourne's “Crazy Train” passing one billion Spotify streams, new Phoebe Bridgers music, upcoming rock documentaries, Jason Sudeikis joining Mumford & Sons for the Ted Lasso theme, Seinfeld remaining comfort-food television, Rory Scovel's comedy special, Star Wars fatigue, Ewan McGregor's willingness to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Julie Andrews stepping away from Princess Diaries 3.Plus, celebrity fan encounters get deeply weird. Dolly Parton once had a baby left on her doorstep. The Jonas Brothers received a preserved baby shark. Rupert Grint apparently accepted an invitation to party with drag queens until 4 a.m. And James McAvoy got presented with perhaps the most direct hall-pass proposal imaginable.Throw in birthdays, St. Louis references, inappropriate detours and enough pop culture commentary to make your search history look deeply concerning, and you've got another funny podcast from The Rizzuto Show.Come for the billion-dollar dreams. Satan is real, but he is not equal with God. He is neither all-powerful nor sovereign. Scripture presents him as a created and limited adversary who opposes God, attacks the truth, and works primarily through deception. In this episode of Contending for the Word Q&A, Dave Jenkins considers what the Bible teaches about Satan and his schemes. Drawing from John 8:44 and 2 Corinthians 11:14, Dave explains Satan's character as a liar, his use of deception, and why Scripture warns that he can disguise himself as an angel of light. Christians should neither ignore Satan nor exaggerate his power. Instead, believers are called to remain alert, exercise biblical discernment, and stay firmly grounded in the truth of God's Word. Satan is real, but he is limited. God alone is sovereign, and Christians can face spiritual warfare with clarity rather than fear because Christ and His grace are sufficient. What happens when the FTC says “cancel” should actually mean cancel? In this episode, we unpack the FTC's lawsuit against Uber, which alleges the company enrolled consumers in its Uber One subscription without obtaining proper consent, made misleading savings claims, and created an unnecessarily complicated cancellation process despite advertising that members could cancel “anytime.” The case underscores the FTC's continued focus on subscription practices, automatic renewals, and negative option marketing, reinforcing that clear disclosures, express informed consent, and simple cancellation mechanisms remain core compliance expectations. For businesses offering recurring subscriptions, the lawsuit is another reminder that friction-filled cancellations and deceptive enrollment practices continue to be a major enforcement priority. Why does it sometimes feel like the moment we begin to experience healing or clarity… life gets harder? In this episode, Dan Allender and Rachael Clinton Chen explore the often-unseen ways evil works to undermine our hearts—not only through obvious suffering, but through shame, distraction, accusation, fear, and despair.  Drawing from Ephesians 6, they unpack the "schemes of evil" that seek to keep us disconnected from God, from ourselves, and from one another. Rather than inviting fear or fixation on spiritual warfare, you'll hear how to recognize these patterns without giving them more power than they deserve, and what it means to stand firm in the authority and love of Christ. Whether you're navigating personal struggles, experiencing unexpected opposition, or simply wondering why growth can feel so costly, this episode offers practical wisdom for discerning what you're up against—and a hopeful reminder that evil never has the final word. About the Allender Center Podcast: For over a decade, the Allender Center Podcast has offered honest, thoughtful conversations about the deep work of healing and transformation. Hosted by Dr. Dan Allender and Rachael Clinton Chen, MDiv, this weekly podcast explores the complexities of trauma, abuse recovery, story, relationships, and spiritual formation. Through questions submitted by listeners, stories, interviews, and conversations, we engage the deep places of heartache and hope that are rarely addressed so candidly in our culture today. Join the Allender Center Podcast to uncover meaningful perspectives and support for your path to healing and growth. At the Allender Center, we value thoughtful dialogue across a wide range of voices, stories, and lived experiences. Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt Days of our Lives spoilers reveal tension rises as Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) grows increasingly furious at Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). Stephanie may even conspire to help Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) gain full or even sole custody of little Kelsey, as Joy's demands regarding the child they share escalate. Alex was overjoyed when his father, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth), informed him that Kelsey Kiriakis' (Lena and Mira Chase) birth certificate had been amended, officially recognizing Alex as the father. However, Joy's resistance to allowing Alex's wife, Stephanie, anywhere near Kelsey, has complicated the custody arrangement. DOOL spoilers suggest that things become more complicated as Stephanie confronts Joy about her perceived manipulation. She accuses Joy of wanting Alex all to herself and involving him in outrageous schemes. While Joy definitely has feelings for Alex, Stephanie's accusations might be misplaced. However, it seems Stephanie is not backing down and may even be plotting to secure sole custody for Alex.  Days of our Lives spoilers hint that Stephanie's frustrations might lead her to discover that Joy might be a gold digger and that Kelsey may not even be Alex's child. This revelation could result in a shocking discovery that Alex is not the father, potentially breaking his heart and causing a significant rift in his relationship with Stephanie.  More DOOL spoilers consider that Stephanie may convince Alex to join her in a plot to uncover Joy's true intentions, using their relationship as a trap. To further her scheme, Stephanie might ask her father, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), to use his investigative skills to uncover dirt on Joy. As the custody battle intensifies, it remains to be seen how these revelations will affect the lives of those involved. Quarterly Fraud Report 2026: Catching Today's Fraud While Preparing for Tomorrow's Schemes

Fraudology Podcast

Welcome back to Fraudology.Every once in a while I come across a report that makes me stop what I was planning to talk about because it's just that important. This is one of those weeks.Matt Vega recently released his quarterly fraud report 2026, and after reading it, I knew we needed to break it down together. Not because it's predicting what might happen next year. Because every attack covered in this report is already happening. One of the biggest themes running through the report is that fraud is simply moving faster than fraud teams are. AI is making sophisticated attacks cheaper, easier to launch, and much harder to detect. Criminals no longer need deep technical skills when they can rent the tools they need through fraud as a service marketplaces. So what does that actually look like?In this episode, I walk through several of the newest fraud tactics already showing up in the wild, including malware hidden behind fake unsubscribe links, banking malware that can piggyback on a customer's trusted device, and session hijacking techniques that make account takeover fraud incredibly difficult to detect using traditional fraud detection models. At first glance, many of these attacks look legitimate. That's exactly the problem. We also talk about why fraud teams can't rely on individual trust signals like device intelligence, IP reputation, or even behavioral analytics by themselves anymore. Criminals have learned how to blend into legitimate customer behavior, which means our approach to fraud detection and fraud prevention has to evolve too. This is where things get interesting. One of my biggest takeaways from Matt's report is that the answer isn't one new tool or one new model. It's layering better fraud intelligence, sharing information across consortium networks, and understanding the broader cybercrime trends happening outside your own organization. Because by the time a new attack reaches your queue, there's a good chance another company has already seen it.I also spend a few minutes sharing an update on the Merchant Fraud Alliance conference, including our new AI bootcamp that's focused on practical ways fraud teams can start using AI in fraud prevention today. Not because AI replaces fraud analysts, but because it helps good teams move faster. If you work in merchant fraud, banking fraud, online fraud, or e-commerce fraud, this is one of those episodes that will help you recognize the patterns before they become your next incident. What you'll hear in this episode:Why Matt Vega's quarterly fraud report 2026 is one of the most valuable fraud intelligence resources released this year. How AI is accelerating modern cybercrime and making sophisticated attacks accessible through fraud-as-a-service platforms.A breakdown of several emerging fraud tactics already targeting merchants and financial institutions. How unsubscribe phishing campaigns are being used to install malware and keyloggers. Why banking malware is becoming increasingly effective at bypassing traditional fraud controls. How session hijacking enables criminals to perform account takeover fraud from trusted customer devices. Why device intelligence, IP reputation, and behavioral analytics all need to be evaluated together instead of independently. How fraud intelligence sharing and consortium data help organizations identify emerging threats faster. An update on the Merchant Fraud Alliance conference and its new AI in fraud prevention bootcamp. You should listen to this episode if you:Lead fraud, risk, or trust & safety teams.Manage fraud prevention for an ecommerce merchant, fintech, bank, or payments company.Want to stay ahead of the latest cybercrime trends instead of reacting after attacks become widespread. Are evaluating how AI is changing both fraud prevention and AI fraud.Build or manage fraud detection models.Investigate account takeover, synthetic identity, or online fraud.Want practical fraud prevention best practices instead of theoretical discussions.Rely on device intelligence, IP reputation, or behavioral analytics as part of your fraud strategy.

Farmers who graze their livestock on what's called Common Land in England were being excluded from the government's new farming environmental support schemes - not because they didn't qualify, but because the Rural Payments Agency's computer system wasn't up to the job of processing their applications. However, campaigners say that the system's being changed and commoners will now be able to apply.Changing sea temperatures, rising fuel costs and offshore windfarms are all challenges for the fishing industry. All week we'll be exploring the state of the sector. We start off by asking the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations about fishing stocks, recruitment and an octopus bloom off UK waters. ,The combination of higher fertiliser and fuel prices, and challenging weather mean farmers have their thinking caps firmly on their heads when considering long-term options for how they farm in the future. Should they use less fertiliser and fuel, to save costs and help the environment and can they do that, while still producing enough of the food we all need? We bring to together a buying cooperative, a university professor and a potato grower to discuss.Presenter = Anna Hill Producer = Rebecca Rooney
