GLP-1s are everywhere right now, but most people may not use them in the best way especially with thyroid issues. McCall McPherson joins Inna to explain why standard dosing creates all the side effects you hear about, and how a specific way of microdosing changes everything,  especially for those with thyroid conditions. This conversation goes beyond weight loss. McCall breaks down how to use GLP-1s properly for thyroid bodies so food, muscle, and metabolism stay intact. She shares why slower loss is actually healthier, how to know if your doctor's approach is too aggressive and the overlooked benefits these medications can bring when done right. One of the biggest? Inflammation. They discuss how proper use can calm inflammation in ways food alone sometimes can't, and what happens to markers and symptoms when it does. They also dive into low dose naltrexone, when to pair it with GLP-1s, and how it supports autoimmunity without shutting down the immune system. For full show notes, please see: https://innatopiler.com/podcasts/glp-1s-microdosing-thyroid-inflammation-hashimotos-mccall-mcpherson/Get ThyroLove - the first all in one bottle multi-nutrient comprehensive formula designed specifically for those with Thyroid Autoimmunity at ThyroLove.com - use code “Podcast” to get 10% off and free shipping For more information about everything Hashimoto's please visit InnaTopiler.comIf you are struggling to lose weight with Hashimoto's, Inna has a 10 day plan just for you at InnaTopiler.com/jumpstartIf you need help with fatigue or brain fog with Hashimoto's, please check out Inna's 9 Day Exhaustion Solution at innatopiler.com/energyIf you don't yet know your thyroid type, please be sure you sign up for Inna's next free training at InnaTopiler.com/zoomcall

Brain fog can make you feel “online but empty,” and for drivers, crews, owners, and executives, that dull edge costs reaction time, good judgment, and stamina when it matters most. We walk you through a proven, race-ready roadmap to reclaim mental clarity with the Five Rs: Reveal, Remove, Replace, Rebalance, and Retain. We start by naming the real culprits behind slow thinking and short fuses: heavy metals from fuel and shop exposure, mold from musty rooms on the road, and gut overgrowth that thrives under stress and poor sleep. You'll hear how functional lab testing spots what standard bloodwork often misses, and why guessing keeps you stuck. Then we get practical with an immediate, safe starting point: a 7–21 day functional medicine detox that supports liver pathways, lowers toxic load, and refuels the brain with the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and omega-3s it uses to think fast and recover deeper. Most people notice clearer mornings, steadier afternoons, and better sleep within a week. From there, we outline how to rebuild for the long season: replace deficiencies so neurotransmitters can fire on demand, rebalance hormones and the nervous system to exit survival mode, and retain gains with quarterly resets tailored to a demanding travel and race schedule. Along the way, we share the real-world factors that push clarity off track—and the simple choices that bring it back. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Dan: my daughter 11 years old now has had for some time very large dense and hard bowel movements. our family doctor had her taking miralax at smaller doses but no solutions for long term. we have tried making sure she gets enough fiber and water but do not know what is causing this or where to start. i literally have to break up her BMs to flush the toilet . thanks for your help                                                                                                                                                                            Charlene: hello and thank you for all your help. my wife and i have been on a body transformation journey for about two years now. we have not reached our goals, our goal is overall health but are trying to build muscle and eventually lower our body fat percentages to a healthy number. we have been on a high protein diet about a gram per pound of body weight . i know this is not great for long term. how long is too long to be on this sort of diet and how should we best go about cycling our diet for best results. trying to get down to the 20 - 30 % body fat from 40 -50%. we also strength train regularly                                                                                                                                                                                               Dan: my teenage son has alot of acne. nothing seems to do any good for it and its much worse under his shirt sleeves. our doctor wanted him to take an antibiotic di something or other. we have tried a couple or topical treatments but nothing seems to work how do we get to the bottom of this?                                          Jean: I wake up too many days now with brain fog, extreme fatigue, no energy and headaches. Different parts of my body have discomfort. Thank you for answering my question.                                                                                                                          Sheena: Hi Dr. C! Hope you and your team are well. (This is the third time I've written in regarding this question). My liquid vitamin D says 1 drop equals 1000iu. . I was wondering if I can trust that? Because it seems soo little compared to a tablet. I end up consuming more drops then I need to, just in case. Healthy Mind, Healthy Life
Parasites, Yeast, Fungus & Brain Fog: what's shaping mood, focus, and energy? Diet, detox, and neurocranial restructuring explained with Dr. Dean Howell and Rebecca

Healthy Mind, Healthy Life

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 26, 2025 38:19

On this Healthy Waves episode, host Avik Chakraborty speaks with Dr. Dean Howell (joined by his partner, Rebecca) about how infections, food choices, toxins, and cranial structure may influence mental clarity, mood, and day-to-day energy. We unpack the idea of “root-cause” care—stabilizing blood sugar, reducing inflammation, supporting detox pathways, and improving fluid dynamics in the head and neck—while keeping the conversation grounded in practical lifestyle moves listeners can evaluate with their clinicians. The discussion is direct, sometimes controversial, and focused on thinking clearly, feeling calmer, and building a sustainable plan rather than quick fixes. About the Guest  : Dr. Dean Howell is the developer of NeuroCranial Restructuring (NCR). Over three decades, he has worked with a wide range of clients—from chronic pain sufferers to elite performers—aiming to relieve pressure patterns, improve posture, and optimize blood and cerebrospinal fluid flow to support overall function. Key Takeaways: Many people report “brain fog” and mood swings; the conversation highlights nutrition, sleep, stress load, infections, and environmental exposures as overlapping drivers to assess with a qualified professional. Blood-sugar stability matters: reducing refined carbs and spacing carbohydrate intake may help avoid sharp insulin spikes and the inflammatory swings that can follow. Protein and fats (including dairy/eggs for vegetarians, or animal proteins for omnivores) were discussed as tools for satiety and steadier energy; listeners should individualize with their health providers. Detox capacity is finite; supporting liver/kidney health (hydration, fiber where appropriate, movement, and clinician-guided protocols) is presented as a prerequisite before any intensive “cleanse.” Structural inputs (jaw/cranial alignment, posture, breathing mechanics) can influence comfort, sleep quality, and perceived clarity; address with licensed, evidence-based practitioners. Behavior change is easier when you start small: track meals, identify trigger foods, and monitor how you feel 1–3 hours after eating. Mental health is multifactorial; counseling, medical care, movement, community, and nervous-system regulation can all be part of a responsible plan. Safety first: avoid self-prescribing medications or extreme protocols; partner with your clinician for testing, diagnosis, and treatment choices. Misschien.

This erodes trust, adds psychological harm, and often drives patients toward alternative medicine, not out of rejection of science but in search of time, holistic care, ongoing support, and validation. The solution isn't to push patients away, but to listen, explain uncertainties, stay connected, and collaborate when integrative care is sought. At its core, Lyme patient gaslighting is both a medical and ethical failure. Patients deserve to be believed and supported.

As his condition worsened—with debilitating fatigue, brain fog, and mobility loss—Brad sought alternatives.
