We launch TUESDAY, MARCH 13th! Women's Bible Study. Real Talk about the Word. We have fun and your hosts Shaherah White, Angelique Ehat, and Natashia Deon are quirky and different, and we're excited about the Word like it's good gossip (Good News!). We don't fit nicely into any predetermined mode…
Ruth 4 and our own Questions of the Day take us on an exploration of what's important to God. Did you know that the first half of the Book of Ruth was mostly about Naomi? And the book is called RUTH. Did you know that Ruth's name disappears from the end of her own chapter and becomes again about Naomi? Did you know that YOUR STORY was never just about you? Other people are playing starring roles right now. And as Angelique will say, "Your life & the mark you make on the hearts and minds of others matters."
Shrewd...with a heart like Jesus can save lives, redeem them, instead of something else. And we aren't mad at him. Boaz was shrewd and a good man and he chose to be a redeemer long before the big moment. He had already investigated. :) WE ARE LAUGHING FROM THE FIRST WORD "BRA" and we answer the Audience Question of the Day: Do you love a pop song like an Elvis song that also does double-duty as a praise song? :)
When you feel like you're on the outside looking through a window at the joys in everyone else's life, what do you do? Are you supposed to accept it and say, "This is my life now." Or is there something more? Join us as we wrestle with this question and others and continue in Ruth. It's SO GOOD. Romantic.
Oh, Boaz. We can't make this verse up. THIS WEEK! We study Ruth 3. Yay! And it's good. We also answer the Audience Question of the Day: What do you say to someone who's lost a mom and stays up all night crying? We are so grateful for Graciela, our awesome audience and YOU.
This week, we continue in Ruth 2! Woo! And we also answer the Audience Questions of the Day: Do Our Pets Go To Heaven? Do they prepare us for human death? Come, listen, laugh! We're so glad you're here!
This week we continue on in Ruth! Yay! Whether you use this story as a dating rule book or as the powerful story of redemption that it is, here are 3 quick lessons that we talk about this week: 1) Be a worker not a twerker 2) Don't fall in love with a man's potential. Is his character, work ethic, integrity and gentleness toward you what you want now? Or does he have some work he needs to do on his own first? 3) And, of course, Sis, you are His perfection. Girl, claim who you are in Christ! We're so glad you're here!
This week: How do we honor people who are over us? Is it blind allegiance because "God put the leader there"? Or is honor something else? Also, we love reading how Ruth was looking good and on mission with Boaz. Or was it just an innocent flirt? Thank you for being here!
This week we continue in Ruth--yay!--and we talk about the role of a pastor...and also why we'd have to leave Angelique if we were all in a scary movie together.
This week we make it up to PETA from last week's shenanigan and we continue in Ruth. Yay! We absolutely love this story and more than ever before. Also, we answer an audience question of the day: What do you do when feel like the people at church are fake? Join us for love and laughter and the Word. An honor to be here.
PETA and the pious might hate us for this episode, but for us it's a Memorial for an incredible rooster. :) Join us as we talk about pets and love and above all Ruth and Naomi. Thank God He has a sense of humor.
Today we laugh and cry-laughing and talk about our favorite Easter Memories. And our on-air Drinking Game brings out some feels and prayer. So does our Audience Question of The Day: Grieving a sibling. Then we get down and dirty in the Book of Ruth. So glad you're here!
This week we have a blast! We're laughing and discovering Him... learning Him better. And we're proud to say that only one or two words used in this hour may be considered "bad." We talk about approaching God, reading the Bible, and how to separate who He is, from who we are when we read. So glad you're here and on this journey with us.
We're back! Season 3 Episode 1 and oh my gosh, we've missed each other! And YOU! This week we talk about sex before marriage and marriage and more. So glad you're here. Tell a friend.
Have you listed to the Christmas Special Podcast yet? Yes? Do you wanna be blessed by the worship songs all year around? Sweet! Please join us in welcoming Angelique, Natashia & our friends: Kelsie (on keyboards & vocal), Christina Gutierrez (with Josh on guitar), Jenn, and Karen Dorris, as they share a word and a song for FIRST TAKE. It's the very first take of the song...no warm up, one voice (at a time), one instrument, and all love for Jesus. He's not asking for your perfection, but your obedience. We love you, Sis.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! This is not your Grandma's Christmas Special (LOL!) but we love Jesus! And we know that the holidays can be hard for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. So we celebrate why He is the REASON above all reasons for the season. We talk mental health and bad Christmas trees, joy and celebration, marriage, and being awkward, then we bring the show to a close with our friends who we've invited to come in-studio to sing with us. Merry Christmas! We're so glad you're here.
FINAL EPISODE OF SEASON 2, EPISODE 13! The Birth of Jesus in Luke and doing a slow roll to the Prophetess Anna. Can you pray to wake up with 6-pack abs? Hear why we’re throwing mics at Shaherah and what made Natashia laugh for 20 doggone minutes, and where Angelique says you should start reading the Bible if you’re new or newer to it. THANK YOU for being part of this sisterhood. For your love and grace and support. WE THANK GOD for you and for allowing us this mindblowing, heartblowing, soul healing time with you and with each other. God bless you, Sis.
WHY IS OUR FAVORITE STORY ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS starring Mary and Baby Jesus and Joseph and Angels only in 2 of the 4 Gospels? (Arguably 3 Gospels, but not at all in the Book of Mark?) EPISODE 12 is a party! Hear why we think we can make an album of animal sounds. Answer: Jesus. Always Jesus. We can do all things through Christ. J And we answer an Audience Question of the Day out of Texas: “Am I a lousy Christian?” And today we discover (again) that sometimes the legitimate answer to, “How’s your morning?” is “Pass.” But there is also this encouragement: Don’t let other people distract you from what you KNOW God has spoken to you. Nobody else is gonna hear it like you. So also, forgive other people for not seeing the new thing God is doing in you. It wasn’t for them. He gave it you.
We're so excited to talk to one of our listeners from South Africa! Woo! And we plug our next video podcast with business woman, pastor's daughter, Minda Harts, who was named an American Express Business Person of the Year and her book, "The Memo" drops in the spring! Yay! She's the perfect intro to The Parable of the Talents-PART 2-because she's using hers. Also episode WARNING: POTTY HUMOR. Ha! But we flip it into a spiritual principle about things we NEED to let go of.
Do you know you have God gifts? Do you know you can handle 'em? God says yes. Even if you've got one. So, YOU'VE GOT THIS, SIS! Today, we discuss the Parable of the Talents and give you one of ours in song and tell you about our favorite songs right now: Angelique's is Nina Cried Power, Shaherah's is Oxygen by Steffany Gertzinger and Natashia's is Gracefully Broken by Tasha Cobb.
Today, we conjure our inner JAY Z: "We Got 3 Problems but a 4th Ain't One" so that we can discuss the PARABLE OF THE SOWER and you'll hear why Angelique says, "Oh, Lort." Yes, that's LORT. And we get serious when we answer our audience Question of the Day. Her son is missing and she asks, How can I share my tragedy without feeling like I have to take care of the other person once I tell them? Find out about her son Jake on her blog: www.onegirlriot.com
This week we continue with Part 2 of the Parable of the Ten Virgins. And five of them are asked to give up something. Would you have done it? Homie says, NO! Well, maybe not. Listen and see as we laugh and have fun and even answer our audience Question of the Day: A wife says she's not getting anything from the church she attends with her husband. Should she leave that church?
Are you looking busy or are you actually ready? Today's Parable of the Ten Virgins asks if we're posers and performers or actually His? Join us for today's Episode 7 as we answer the audience question of the day about how people can try to degrade us. And ask, how should we react?
We laugh, we cry, we study the Word with our special guest in the studio, Dave Thomas! Woo! Dave's been the voice of the NFL, Gatorade, Home Depot and is the voice of Drunk Girl's Bible Study (woo!)...or Lego Batman. You'll have to listen to see. Join us as we study the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant and answer the audience Question of the Day: Can adult men and women be just friends?
Can you still feel love? The emotion, I mean. Do you feel hate? Do you feel neither? Because "neither" is real. Join us as we answer this audience Question of the Day. Apathy is a love stealer but Jesus is good.
What do tears mean and what does "unemployed" mean? Today we answer an audience Question of the Day and talk about our favorite subject--JESUS!--in the Parable of the Land Owner and the Day Laborers. Thank you for listening!
"TATTOOS? Rock 'em? Or is somebody sinning up in here? Join us as we welcome Pastor James Rene of Prophetic Revelation TV and we discuss getting inked, the last thing we licked, and then we'll simmer down...somewhat...to continue our study of the Parables of Jesus! Woo! Thank you for being here.
Join us for Part 2 of the King & His Wedding Feast! Let's discuss the parable together and search for the spiritual meaning. We may not have all of the answers but this is a great place to start and continue on. And we answer an Audience Question of the Day! Do you have one? Send them to questions@drunkgirlsbiblestudy.com
How many Gospels are there? What is a doggone parable? And heck, what is a doggone simile in the English language? We know! We can't wait to spend time with you in the Word reading the red letters in the Bible--Jesus actually speaking--and answering a listeners question about she calls "choosing her new husband over her son."
Have you ever gone through something so hard that when you came out of it...be honest...your personality was forever changed? You weren’t the same light hearted person? Join us for the Drunk Girls Bible Study SEASON 1 FINALE and the conclusion of Elisha and the Shunammite Woman. We’ll be back August 14th for the start of Season 2!
Let's talk about sex. Our audience "Question of the Day" takes us there. And we have in studio with us military wife, Daisey Lewis, who joins the conversation as we study Elisha and the Shunammite Woman. We're so glad you're here!
Do you have a hard time asking people for help? Or better, admitting you need help? And, on another topic, would you ask your romantic partner to build a room for some other man or woman? Join us as we explore a woman who's name is not given--the Shunammite Woman.
Today, we're excited to continue our interfaith conversation with the extraordinary Jewish artist Alicia Jo Rabins: violinist, poet, mother, Torah teacher and more, about career, motherhood and her faith journey. And together we answer an audience Question of the Day about pre-marital sex and Natashia may or may not answer.
Many Christians remember Queen Esther but fewer remember Queen Vashti, who was booted from the throne and her ouster made room for Queen Esther to rise. Join us for an interfaith conversation as we record live from Hollywood and then head to the studio to study the Book of Esther with Jewish Torah teacher, poet, violinist and amazing person, Alicia Jo Rabins.
Today, we laugh a lot and talk about the movie, The Quiet Place, we talk about praying angry, Jonah and more. We also answer a listener's question about forgiving yourself. Enjoy!
Just because a person looks like she has it all together, it doesn't mean she does. And when it's us, sometimes God has to make it more clear to us. Today, we continue our study in Jonah and we handle a tough question from a woman who spent 20 years in an abusive relationship.
What do you do you do when God wants you to help people you don't even like? Fake it till you make it?
Christians are called to seek and save the lost. So...what do you do when God sends you to save someone who hurt you? Have you ever been so angry that you can't even pray? Jonah has.
