We have all sinned, we all fall under God and we can't look down on anyone else. Those who follow the law are condemned by the law that they can't keep, those who follow their own standards fail their own standards. Yet, we are judged by the perfect Lord Jesus Christ and this also offers hope.Scripture:Romans 3:23, Romans 2:1-16Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
May 12, 2025What happens when humanity trades the truth of God for a lie? Romans 1 paints a sobering picture of what it means when God gives people over to the desires of their own hearts. In a world full of idols shaped in our own image, we're reminded that God's wrath is not impulsive anger—but the righteous response to our willful rebellion. This message will challenge what you think about sin, culture, and the cost of rejecting the Creator for created things.Scripture:Romans 1:17-32Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
Paul begins by thanking God for the Roman believers, whose faith was so vibrant it was known throughout the world—reminding us that gratitude and prayer must be the foundation of all Christian relationships and ministry. He emphasizes his deep desire to visit and encourage them, reflecting the mutual strengthening that comes through Christian fellowship and the shared pursuit of spiritual growth. Finally, Paul boldly declares the power and necessity of the gospel, for it alone reveals God's righteousness and offers salvation to all who believe—Jew and Gentile alike—by faith from start to finish.Scripture:Romans 1:8-16Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
So often we skip the greeting but what is Paul trying to tell us? Why is the greeting important?Scripture:Romans 1:1-7Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
Contrary to popular understandings, Romans is not Paul's systematic theology. Instead, Paul is encouraging a troubled community in Rome to welcome one another as Jesus has welcomed them, and in so doing they will display his gospel, which he defends as the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.Scripture:Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
April 7, 2025Habakuk ends with one profound realization: to survive the life of exile, we must not let the raging chaos and conflict undermine our ability to focus on what is central.Scripture:Habakkuk 3:17-19Exodus 19:5-6Deut 4:5-8Habakuk 1:1-42Kings 17:9-11Luke 13:31-32

In this intro to Habakkuk, we dive into the story of Judah's decline and the prophet Habakkuk's cry for justice. Habakkuk sees a world filled with violence and corruption, and his doubts about God's silence reflect the struggles many of us face when our experiences don't match what we know about God's promises. Is doubt a sign of weak faith? Or an opportunity for God to prove Himself; inviting us to trust Him despite our circumstances? We also confront the impact of generational sin—how issues like abuse, addiction, and anger can be passed down through the family line, and how through Jesus we have the power to break these cycles for generations to come.Scripture:Habakkuk 1:1-4

February 3, 2025Many think of "discipleship" as learning, like in-depth Bible study reserved for serious, "committed" Christians. But discipleship is about maturing as human beings called to imitate Jesus. But how do we do that? It's more than you think Scripture:John 5:39-40John 13:31-38John 21:1-19Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
Culture convinces us that to welcome someone means to "entertain" - to have the well arranged house, the right food, the mood lighting, the perfect music and vibe.In contrast, Jesus shows in the story of Zacchaeus that by leading from a place of humility and weakness we make space for the weakness of others. And it is in a moment of honest vulnerability and being seen and loved in their vulnerability that people come to truly and fully belong to a community. Scripture:Luke 19:1-10Luke 14:33Luke 16:9
January 13, 2025Too often we treat the symptoms in our modern world instead of trying to pinpoint the cause. A growing number of voices are pointing at hurry, or busyness, as a root of disconnection from God. Some would even argue that hurry doesn't just make you weary, but in fact it is the great enemy of your spiritual life.Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org

Paul had no time for fake Christianity. He was traveling around with Timothy and Epapohroditus spreading the gospel. Not for fame or fortune, but to know Christ, and help others do the same. Joy comes from maturing into your identity in Christ and setting your aim on Him.Scripture: Philippians 2:19-3:16Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
November 11, 2024Paul encourages believers to live worthy of the gospel, embracing a life marked by unity, humility, and joy—focused not on temporary circumstances but on eternal realities. He challenges us to align our priorities with the eternal perspective that transcends earthly struggles and ambitions. This call to live in light of eternity means our daily choices, attitudes, and relationships reflect the hope we have in Christ. As we pursue this higher calling, we remember that our labor is not in vain and that our Savior is at work within us, empowering us to shine His light in a dark world.Scripture: Philippians 1:27-2:18Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
Paul's prayers in Philippians 1 remind us of two truths about who we are. We are a people who celebrate partnership. We are a people who pursue God's glory.Scripture: Philippians 1:1-26Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org
As we walk with Jesus, he entrusts us with pieces of His Kingdom and allows us to do work alongside Him. However, the temptation the disciples faced (that we still face today) is to do things for Christ without doing them with Christ.
A look at how Jesus went toe to toe with the devil and stood his ground.

God's faithfulness to Israel is one of the primary witnesses to God's character in the Bible. In Romans 11, Paul unpacks this "mystery" and shows that God's commitment to His people goes farther than most would imagine.
God has displayed His love for fallen mankind in this: that while we were still His enemies, Christ came into the world, lived a sinless life, and bore our punishment on the cross so that we could be justified and brought into a relationship with Him. God offers this gift to us out of His love so that we would respond with love. He enables us to love others because He loved us first.
The Lord our God is Just, but He is also Patient. These two aspects of His character show us the core truth behind the attribute "slow to anger."
God's Grace is Him showing undeserved favor toward humanity through Jesus on the cross. But the Scriptures also show that Grace is much more than that. In this message we'll unpack how God's Grace saves us, empowers us, and elevates us to one day judge all of Creation with Him.
In the book of Hosea, we get a glimpse into the compassion of God, and his deep pathos. God is not unmoved by the actions or suffering of His people. He is stirred to action, even extreme action, because above all He desires a people filled with intimate knowledge of Himself and bursting with faithful love.
Paul's shipwreck on Malta is a deeply symbolic story of the Gospel. After an unwise decision that leaves everyone stuck in a raging storm, the only option becomes to give up control and run the ship aground. This relinquishing of control saves the lives of everyone on board & leads to the conversion of an entire people group!
Paul and Silas encounter a slave girl possessed by a spirit of divination, who is subsequently freed from the spirit by Paul, leading to their imprisonment by the girl's masters. While in prison, an earthquake miraculously opens the prison doors and unfastens their chains. This leads to the conversion and baptism of the jailer and his household, and eventually, Paul and Silas are released after Paul reveals his Roman citizenship.Acts 16:16-40
When Peter is told to bring the Gospel to Cornelius, he has to overcome years of Jewish tradition that separated Jews from Gentiles. Now, it's Peter's turn to decide whether God's instruction or Peter's long-held beliefs and traditions would guide his actions. To bring the message of Salvation to the Gentiles, Peter would need to give up a major golden calf.ACTS ch 10
The story of Acts opens with a critical question: will Jesus restore the kingdom to Israel at this time? Instead of an answer, Luke gives us a response in the form of the story of Pentecost. But why? What is he trying to show us?Acts 1:1-11, 2:1-47

We'll unpack the story of the only female prophet in the New Testament (Anna) and see how her story might have impact for us thousands of years later.Luke 2:36-40If we feel we have to make a name for ourselves as we make a name for Jesus, whos name are we really living for?

What goes through your mind when you ponder that idea? What are your prayer habits like? If you could ask one question about prayer what would it be?
Idolatry and anthropology go hand in hand: what we worship is tied to who we think we are, and vice-versa. Modern western culture has grown to idolize information, and views the human being as an information processing brain. But has that shown itself to be true? And has the church resisted this view? Have we forgotten about love?Revelation 2:1-7 Ephesians 3:14-4:13
Jesus' harsh words to the wealthy church in Laodicea remind us that worldly wealth gets us nowhere apart from Christ. His stern rebuke and call to repentance is a call to us to place our trust in Him over our anything our world offers.Revelation 3:14-22 // Matthew 7:21-23
Mental wellness can only happen when a person's true self is able to engage true reality, but many of us live from false images we craft for ourselves, and carry expectations about life that don't match the real world. This ultimate truth confronts our false ideas: something about us and our world needs to die, but because Christ was not ashamed to die with us, we have new life and look forward to our full redemption.Scripture:Romans 6:3-9Romans 8:19-26Resources:Facebook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaWebsite- fccsantamaria.org

The purpose God has called you to is something that may seem difficult to discover, but God never wastes a moment. He's working in and through your life now, even as He prepares you for what's ahead.
